Anyway before taking on Orstein and FatBoy I decided to properly clear out Anor Lando. I went to the elevator thingy and once again cranked it, taking me down to the lowest level. I found a 3rd bonfire in front of a statue of, I presume, Artorias? or maybe it's Gwyn's first son? I cleared out the cathedral and you see, there was this pretty big painting there. Being the idiot that loves to explore every inch of the game on my 1st playthrough, I went and touched it. Aaand a whole new can of worms was opened that day. At least I had that SK halberd with range to take out the toxic troglodytes at a safe range... I cleared it out, dying once to the harpybitches riding my shoulders and pecking my eyes out and decided not to fuck around with DragonSis. After all, it's pretty rare for something in this game to not want to kill me upon 1st sight. Maybe someday I'll pay her another visit. It's time to kindle the bonfire in the palace(?), maybe get my beloved halberd to lightning status to have some variety in my damage output (which was 100% physical at this point) ass whoop Lautrec for killing bonfire waifu and take Orstein's ring and armor set. And the spear... maybe.

Honestly, has there been anyone interested in this game, that has not heard or watched on youtube this fight? It's probably one of the most iconic moments in the game. However it's one thing to know how to beat them, and another to execute it yourself. While I still held the Heavy-Weight championship belt & title (aka being in human form) 2 strong contenders awaited me. LionGuy & FatBoy. Solaire wanted in on the fight and I foolishly let him join it. When we entered the room, Orestain charged me with his spear of course. Solaire would have none of that and took Orestain's attention away from me, which left me 1v1 with Smough. As I was dodging around seeing Fatboy's pattern for myself for the 1st time in real combat and getting used to them, I noticed something. Something very troubling that actually made me sweat a little. Solaire was beating the living shit out of Orstein. And when I say "beating the shit" I mean OrsChap was at 1/3rd HP when I only managed to get Smough's First health bar thing down. Time was of the essence. I wanted SuperLeo, not SuperFatboy. And by the God's I shall have him. Switching from Zwei to Lightning Halberd I started to maul on the sack of lard as quickly as I could disregarding my own safety. He tried to hit me once, but I dodge, ass-flop I took on my damn chest because dodging in and out would take precious stamina and time. He retreated, I charged right after him leaving no quarter stunlocking his fatass in place with as many light attack halberd pokes as I could with my stamina. And I did it. BARELY. Not HP-wise, but before Solaire could finish off Orestein. He was on his last big HP bar thingy. Vs BigLeoBro Although Solaire agreed to take some R&B while Orestein sapped Fatass' power out, the second half being 2v1 not much changed. When the bell rang, Solaire and Orestein were at each other's throats again. Orestein, now back at 100% HP, paid me no heed and kept on mauling away on Solaire who at this point was at 45/40%. I tried to help as much as I could and Leo-senpai noticed me once or twice but quickly went back to Solaire-dono. We rekt his ass between the 2 of us. I had free reign to do as I pleased. I took out Zwei and just backstabbed Leo-senpai all the time with 2handed attacks. Afterwards: I ogled the tits for 5 minutes, but the fight left a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe I should've 2v1 them afterall, I am the champ. Maybe I'm overleveled? I was 68 when I fought them. But I'm pretty sure it was Solaire making this a 1v1 first and then being the best annoy-o-tron ever for Orstein.

As for weapons, you can't go wrong with the balder swag sword. Yes, 45 dex makes your casting faster. That's the build I'm going for on my latest character, dex/int, going for 45 dex and 50 int and mixing weapons and spells. I'm really enjoying Priscilla's Dagger and Dark Silver Tracer for combat, which is quite surprising, since so far I thought daggers are too small to be really good ![]()

But in general I want to try PvP at SL120 that's why I'm so hesitant about putting points into magic. I watched videos on youtube and magic seems easy to dodge, except for the dark beads and shit. Even pyro spells can be replaced by black firebombs. For dex builds definitely uchigatana 1st choice wielded 2handed. But with some basic STR like 12/16 you can get halberds, claymore etc. Balder SS would probably be even better with a DEX build than my 40/40 build since it scales E/ B-A. Priscilla's dagger scales A into S for DEX and probably rapiers in general would be great (maybe Ricard's Rapier?) When I started this game, I promised myself "no Fashion Souls", I said to myself "Don't be a fucking role player", I promised "only wear what will work, not what will look cool" ... and now I present to you, my fabulous self - + Show Spoiler +

You need 30 points in FTH to use sunlight blade, and 25 to join the Sunlight Covenant to get the spear spell (though that requirement to join can be lowered by beating bosses with golden co-op people, -5 for every boss killed). The best variation of that spell (Sunlight Spear) requires 50 FTH to use and rank 2 in the covenant to get, which in turn needs sunlight tokens, which you get for beating bosses in co-op mode with golden guy (member of the Sunlight covenant). Likewise you need high INT to use best weapon enhancements, and other spells. So if you want to stay at 120 sl you might want to give up non-pyro magic on that character alltogether.

I'll ultimately look up some DS PvP pyro duels to see how useful it is. If it will be good just for PvE i probably won't take it.

I remember in my first playthrough, I was very close to defeat O&S in my first few attemps, but then something blocked inside me and it took me few hours of trying lol. And Solaire was getting his ass handed to him on regular basis I stopped summoning him altogether. I defeated O&S on my third try. I did run through all my estus and had to resort to popping humanity for healing though. In the end, patience is the key.
