That's just a cop out you are giving Maxis and Activision is not directing Blizzard to the degree many seem to believe. Blizzard was making bad decisions long before Activision got involved. Maxis is EA now, like it or not, and you are deluding yourself if you think Maxis is guilt free in this. By all means, blame EA for buying them but it doesn't mean that EA (as in some outside force separated from Maxis) is to blame for everything. Also Activision didn't technically buy Blizzard if that's what you were suggesting.

what did they exactly fix? i had minimal problem with their "take closest route" since i designed my roads with that in mind.
the problems i noticed
1) cars must do a U turn on avenues.
2) some cars on the freeway exit, then pull a U turn inside my city, then go back out.
3) emergency cars can't pass traffic
4) very bad traffic light management.
5) only shoppers take the bus.
whatever the case, my trade income was very high but once i added arcology, it actually cut my income 90% because of the traffic it caused (i was losing money, my city upkeep is -60,000/hr). it had negative impact despite the information saying "city will benefit with tourists, students and workers"
what the hell kind of city were the developers making that made arcology OK to have?
i was racking up piles of money pre-arcology, and post-arcology, after adding two trade ports instead of one, my income is still a small fraction of before but at least in the positive.

Well, our arcology made it possible for me to go up to 4mil/month (from 2) without much effort in "Life". Traffic was bad before and still is in that city though. I will try to push the limits of my transport system, but first I'll build a Casino City.
edit: very irritating bug in my new city: noone is using my ferries (i build multiple just to see if it was a specific location), but i do not have a single rider.

There is no subway, unless its been added since the last time i played. Frankly the game is a lot of fun in its current form, although i abandoned my multiplayer city until traffic is fixed as i have people driving in circles for all day long with no desitnation. can't wait till modder community gets to this game and adds in all the features we really want.

I'm debating with myself about getting this game or not. Is the limited edition better than the standard or is this heroes/villains stuff useless ?

i got a question, if i send money to a city, can that city not receive money until there is a city hall or something?
if i bondman with the money, does the one reclaiming it start with the money left behind?

Sending money is very weird. it should work sth like:
send and get a confirmation shortly after, then the recieving city's player needs to wait a while for the money to be transported and get it. that is how it usually worked for me, no special buildings needed, just a connection to initiate the gifting.
However sometimes it seems to just get lost and is gone, sometimes it takes forever - i had 4 delieveries take 6 hours real time to finally trickle in today, i had already given up on them.
And yes, if you abandon a city and someone reclaims it will be just how you left it. Which is why there is no recovery for negative income cities with no money left. There really needs to be a "reset city" option.

How do I join the TL regions? I can't even figure out how to search for and join a region.

The search in game doesnt work, of course :D
You will have to add someone who already plays in that region, or at least search for his name and then stalk his maps.
You should be able to find players for the server you want to play on by searching this thread.
US East 4 and EU East 1 I can probably help you find the region you are looking for, maybe US West 4 aswell if anyone on my list is playing there. origin id is incifan
