As someone said before , anyone who bought BG 1 and/or 2 the moment it was published , the case , the books , the amount of CDs... you knew this was a game made to last the moment you opened that package ; having it enhanced its a good thing if you dont like to mess around with mods. lets get back to Candlekeep ^^

I liked BG2 a lot more, I never played a game with such great characters/character interactions, for me its one of the very best rpgs ever made and I played it countless times.

I've never played the game further than the first couple of hours in the original version. Was wondering which to pick up for the summer vacation. ![]()

Probably ten times uglier and more dysfunctional than the original lol.

The idea behind Neverwinter series was pretty solid, but a lot of game skills you developed were really under-utilized in the original campaign line. On top of that, there some things that I could never figure out. For instance, moving silently and hiding never worked at all. Maybe it was just me.

NWN2 had multiple camera options and one of them was isometric camera very similar to BG games. You could even more the camera away from your characters just like in BG games.

Wish they had the balls to do something interesting in the original game instead of probably the slowest and ugliest first 5 hours of any rpg (Seriously, start in a green/grey village with 5 inhabitants, a green/grey swamp, grey templeruins where everything is square). And then it goes into the blandest cliche-filled story and characters ever... Don't think the NWN2 engine is bad tho. I rather enjoyed the mechanics of NWN2 last time i played it. More than Dragon Age:Origins if I might say so. They fixed most of the issues and at this point it's pretty solid. You can do a lot with it if you have the time and dedication.

BTW, anyone found any other download link then the one in the article? That one asks you to register and pay lol. It is 1$ only but I really don't want to give them my credit card/paypal info just to download 2GB of a fan made mod.

Whether you like SoZ or MotB more depends on whether you'd prefer a game that's hemmed in by the limitations of the NWN2 engine, but does those things very well, or a somewhat less polished game that explores more interesting things.

I was more asking about the three versions of BG1. Original with Wide screen mod etc, Enhanced this thread is about or the new one in NWN2.

i also didnt like mask of betrayer, they didnt do the epic levels very well. I mean...random people trying to rob/fight whatever a lvl 20+ guy. That really didnt get me into the whole story. HotU did the epic thing much better IMO. i dont know, when they convert the game into nwn, it would be 3.5 rules and not whatever bg used, which kinda changes the whole game. The bg feel might get lost in translation here.
