Yup i deduced that from main skull and chars in the background ^^ Im happy, BG1 was always in a shadow of 2nd, while it deserves the same pride. But for god sake, get capable people to do this.

They improved it for BG2 but it was still horrible. Planescape and Icewind Dale series had terrible pathfinding as well. I wonder what they're going to do with all the empty areas in BG1. If they're going to remake BG1, they could remove some of these areas, since many of them are redundant anyway, and more stuff in many of them. There were tons of areas in the middle of map that barely had anything at all except a few mob packs.

Well in case of PST its not critics but audience.

I enjoyed the mystery of adventuring and not knowing who or what I would run into. If anything, I want MORE areas!

Two games will be coming, BG1EE (this summer) and BG2EE (don't know when). Each will contain it's expansion built-in.

I was blown away by richness of the presented world in BG1 back in that time(there was no second game like that period, only fallout could compete), when BG2 was out we already had BG1+expansion + IWD +PST, and tbh it was just more polished BG1. Yup i deduced that from main skull and chars in the background ^^ Im happy, BG1 was always in a shadow of 2nd, while it deserves the same pride. But for god sake, get capable people to do this. not at all IMO, fallout1 was a really well made game, although lacking in size compared to fallout2 it didn't have a lot of the glaring issues and bugs that were in fallout2 and while fallout2 was incredibly awesome I'd probably say fallout1 was the better game; comparing it to bg1 and 2 I'd say bg2 was the better made game as well as more revolutionary, given that it provided such a complete experience (gameplay, graphics, story, dialogue, voice acting ALL of it top-notch)

Somehow I can't see the CoD generation wanting to do any math or reading, but if they can manage to pull off good sales numbers it would be a huge thing for the gaming industry and may encourage big developers to stop dumbing down their games.

To be honest I was actually hoping they won't do that, and I'm glad they didn't. Reason is that, while it's great for old fans like us, it's kind of ridiculous to expect a new player to sit in through a 200 hour game just to reach a conclusion. At some point they'll get bored of questing and just want closure (imagine skipping those epic quests in BG2 because you got so much "filler exploration" in BG1!) What would be ideal is: BG1+xpac for 20-30 bucks, then BG2 for 20-30, then ToB for 20 scattered a few months apart. If they added a lot of content though I can see them charging full price. Sad they're keeping 2.5 rules...3rd edition is so much easier to understand (higher = better!)

It makes the game more accessible without dumbing it down, which is important in game design. --- Anyway this was a hilarious quote I got from a friend: me 4:30 PM OH MY GODDDD BALDUR'S GATE REMAKE J M 4:31 PM licensed by EA directed by Michael Bay Justin Bieber voice acting the main character Pauly Shore voice acting everyone else

I'm curious if they will also bring in the old voice actors to perform new lines of dialogue, probably not though since it's quite expensive.

Plus, IMO BG2 is the better game (and more well liked) of the two anyhow, so I think they would put that out there if it was included. However, making BG1 into a modern setting means putting out BG2 should follow soon after. -> Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition™ and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition™ will feature a re-forged version of the Infinity Engine with a variety of modern improvements. http://www.baldursgate.com/news/2012/03/15/announcing-baldurs-gate-enhanced-edition/
