Gaming is already plagued by endless rehashes and sequels. It seems whatever little creativity is left in the business can only be found among smaller indie developers, who also have a nasty tendency to produce endless tower defense games. All I wanted was a new game that plays like the old Infinity Engine games did. Top-down perspective, D&D rules, dialogue that doesn't use a wheel, challenging party-based combat. The only recent thing that's remotely like this is the Dragon Age series which, for unrelated reasons, didn't appeal to me. Sigh. If I wanted to play BG again, I would go do so. It runs quite fine on Win7.

Seeing as how I don't mind their graphics, as they contribute to the nostalgic feeling every time I play them, I can't help but feel that this would be a bit lost on me. I'm not, cause I'm gonna bring a LOT of people in, to play and experience it, whereas with the old engine, they don't want to. don't be selfish ! So many people missed it :p

EDIT: If it really is a re-release, I'd like the following: Seemless continuation from Candlekeep -> ToB, with some way to depict what happened in between the games. 3rd edition rules, or some variation of (get rid of the negative numbers or so it's accessible to new players). Normalized the power curve a bit; level 1 is a bit TOO weak, and level 20+ are way too strong. Adjustable difficulty levels. Maybe a mod kit.

I would presume they would make a BG 3, but redoing BG 1+2 in order to get the new generation into the franchise as well.

.I'm disappointed it's not a new Baldur's Gate (not a continuation of the old one's because that's obviously finished), but I can't imagine an Enhanced Edition would only have graphics improvements. I expect awesome cinematic, even a couple of more quests, new skills/items, and possibly class tweaks/additional ones.
