Currently have Lynch, Ridley, Matthews, Leshore, F. Jackson and CJ2k. Am I right for thinking I can't hit accept fast enough here?? The rest of my WRs suck: Antonio Brown, Meachem, Kendall Wright, Mike Williams. (start 3) I've got VD and Ryan/Rivers in my other positions, so I really am a WR away from spanking people. The best offer I had otherwise was Ridley for Reggie Wayne, which I think was a tad high. I was obviously gunning for a WR in any trade, but my goal was to keep Ridley Lynch and Matthews unless I was getting a top 5 wideout. The only issue I have with your post is that I don't consider White a top 5 WR (Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez cut into his looks too much to be a top 5). That being said, he is large step above Wayne and your WR core is a complete dumpster fire so the trade most likely worth it even if you are giving up points on a player to player comparison.

Is Roddy White really a large step above Wayne though? Wayne is the clear #1 and benefits from a softer schedule than Roddy White. Wayne has been quite consistent so far as well.

Those points came after a 3rd down personal foul on Clemons, and a dropped INT by Earl. (earl thomas and chris clemons) check that, the Panthers had 3 drives that ended with negative yards. Can't forget the Irvin strip sack at the end... 7 of the Panthers 11 drives were three plays or less. The Panthers had more drives that resulted in negative yards today (2) than they did scoring drives (1). The Seahawks rank #1 in the NFL in opponent yards/play at 4.4. PIT led NFL last year, allowing 4.5 yards/play. Seattle Seahawks rank #1 in the NFL in yards against, 258.6/game. No Seahawks team has ever ranked higher than #6 in a season (1984) Depending on the result of the HOU game tomorrow night, the #1 scoring offense (NWE) will face the #1 scoring defense (SEA) next week in SEA Courtney Upshaw, Melvin Ingram, Quintan Coples, and Chandler Jones have combined for fewer sacks (3.5) than @BIrvin_WVU11 (4.5). @ChrisClemons91 and @Birvin_wvu11 are ranked #4 and #7 in the NFL in sacks, respectively. The Seahawks play 5 of the Top 10 rush defenses the rest of the way (MIA, CHI, MIN, SF, NWE). Passing game better find its way. The Panthers had 70 yds rushing at halftime. They managed 12 in the 2nd half. Irvin on pace to crush rookie sack record. Wagner on pace to break rookie tackle record. Wilson wins starting job. Not a bad first 3 picks I don't know why I like Russel Wilson so much, except that the ex's family were HUGE Badgers fans, and I met a bunch of the players through her, so I guess I wanted them to win the Rose Bowl and stuff, but I digress. I really like Wilson, and hope he has a good career. I like a lot of what we've seen out of him so far, though he certainly has room for growth. I hope teams aren't sleeping on Seattle the way the media is, because they'd be really stupid to do so. I liked what they were doing defensively last year quite a lot, and thought pretty highly of them coming into this season. They're really just a mediocre passing game away from being a very good team. I think they're built a lot like the 49'ers are, and we see where they're getting with a less than stellar pass game (though it's looking pretty good so far this season). They won't need an aerial assault the way the Pats or Saints do things, but if they could get a top 15 passing game, this team could contend for the Super Bowl, they're that good everywhere else. I was very high on this team being a wild card contender this year, and definitely a spoiler for a lot of other good teams. The division is still very much San Francisco's though; SF has the passing game these guys need. My thoughts on week 5: The Saints got a few gifts from the refs to win that game last night. There were some awful calls that cost the Chargers time, and big plays, which helped the Saints. The PI call was weak as hell against Gates. The hold the followed it was a terrible call, imo. The center hardly impeded the DT's progress after losing the block, it certainly wasn't a very egregious call, and I don't think it should have been made. That may have been the second hold, I don't recall. Either way, I thought the refs gave some pretty big gifts down the stretch. SD still had a shot to win, and missed though, so it's an earned win. I was happy to see the Cardinals lose this week, because I think that team is a sham. Very good defensive team, but the offense is pathetic. Kolb sucks now, and will never be a great starter, imo. They have no running game... I don't know how they're winning games, but I'm glad it stopped. The Broncos... still the same problems they've been facing for the last five weeks, or whatever it's been. They need to get off to better starts. They also need much, much better ball security. D. Thomas needs to not fumble that ball. That's a swing of, probably, seven points, but almost guaranteed three, which would make that drive where McGahee fumbled a game tying drive. Speaking of McGahee, for the second time this season, had an absolutely crucial fumble late in the game, which killed their comeback attempt. It's not acceptable to put the ball on the ground. It's not acceptable to give the ball to the other team. The only saving grace in all of this is that everyone else in the division lost this week, so the gap didn't widen. I still have hope for this team, because they have such strong second half performances. They get SD next week, which gives them the opportunity to go into the bye with the division lead. It's a must-win game coming up. If they can go into the bye at 3-3, I think they'll be in very good shape to make the playoffs. For me, this team is all about the playoffs, and being "good enough" right now. As the season progresses, I expect to see the offense coming together more, making better plays early in the game, and allowing the defense to have ample rest so they can make stops late game. If that happens, then they'll make the playoffs, and they'll be a very difficult opponent in the playoffs. But the offense really needs to get it together in the first and second quarter. The Bears are having similar problems to Denver, I think. They're getting by on offense, but they're off to such slow starts, it's painful to watch sometimes. They've had good fortune in having an easy schedule, and a dominant defense to start the season, but we saw what happens when they get off to a slow start vs a capable team (@ GB, week 2). The offense is playing exceptionally well once the defense gives them a lead, but they're so tight, and out of rhythm before then. The offense is going to need to carry the team at some point this season, and at this moment, they haven't shown they're capable of doing so. Everyone is hyped on this 4-1 record, but I hope the coaching staff and players are seeing what needs to be worked on. They have a lot of work to do before they're going to beat the big boys in SF, Houston, or NE. I think they're in for a real test against Detroit in two weeks, but with all that time to prepare, I expect to see a win. Let downs of my week: KC losing to Baltimore. Even though it helps Denver, I really dislike the Ravens, and that game was there for the taking. Baltimore is starting to look more and more like the same old, same old, aren't they? Flacco continues to not be great, because he doesn't have the ability to be great. 13/27 - 187 yards, 1 INT. Not what you're looking for from the self-proclaimed best quarterback in the league. Brees lit up the same defense for 240 and 3 TD's. Rivers got 207 and 2 TD's. Matt Ryan threw for 299 and 3 TD's. Even Ryan Fitzpatrick managed to throw 2 TD's on this team, even though he threw less yards (178). The excuse of no talent at WR isn't there for Flacco anymore either. He's got Torrey Smith, who is exceptional with the ball in his hands; Boldin is one of the better wide outs in the game (imo); and that's not even mentioning Ray Rice, who is one of the top HB's in the league, and probably number two or three as far as pass catching goes. There's a ton of talent for him, yet he completes less than 50% of his passes against a team other QB's are throwing for high percentages, and a lot of TD's against. He's just not that good, and he is the reason that they will not be in the Super Bowl this year. Very disappointed in the Philly game. Vick needs to stop turning it over at the goal line. I don't care how many potentially game winning drives he's made this year, he's a detriment to the team right now. He took another score off the board with his carelessness at the goal line, and it cost them the game: another three points wins this one, and they had a chip shot if they didn't get a TD on that drive. I think he fumbled a second time, but I didn't watch the game. It only strengthens my point if he did fumble again down in the red zone. Atlanta over Washington. Washington had a bunch of chances, but they gave up too many big plays, and didn't make enough. Losing RG3 hurt very badly, probably is the single reason they lost. Good effort from Washington, but close doesn't count in the NFL. There are no style points, there are no moral victories: there are wins and losses. But my biggest let down is Buffalo's defense. Seriously, where is this hyped defensive front? It's completely absent right now. Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, Marcell Dareus, Mark Anderson (overrated to begin with)... they can't get to the QB, they can't stop the run, they can't do anything right. It's sad to watch, but also awesomely hilarious to know that they wasted all of that money on these guys. To think that I was upset that the Broncos took Von Miller over Dareus last season. Shows what I know! Surprises of the week: Starts with Indy's comeback, obviously. I couldn't believe the comeback from Indy. Green Bay really has a lot to fix on that defense. The imbalance of their offense hurt them again, imo. With as big of a lead as they had, clock control needed to be the focus of the game for them in the late fourth quarter, but incomplete passes led to clock stoppages, and extra opportunities for the Colts to come back. Amazing game all around. Great poise from the rookie QB, great efforts all around by Indy. GB should be hanging their heads after that one. Minnesota - not just this week, but on the season. Quietly, they're one of the best teams in the NFL right now. Another team in the mold of San Francisco. Crushing defense, great running game, and a passing game that's good enough to get by with. The key to their success? They're not turning the ball over. Drives end with kicks or touchdowns for them, and that's the way every team wants every drive to end. If you're not turning the ball over, you can win the field position battle, and that gives your defense more opportunities to stop the other team. When the defense stops them early, that gives your offense a better chance of scoring (shortened field). They're playing solid, fundamental football. I don't think that it will continue throughout the season, but it's very impressive for such a young team to start this way. I don't know what to think: The Giants. I don't know what to think about them. They're finding ways to win, but they're doing it in a really ugly fashion. The Browns should never have had a 14 point lead. They look the same as they did in the regular season last year, and that's not good with the East playing this well. I've never seen a team have more tipped passes off of THEIR hands end up as INT's. It's insane how many missed completions they have go against them. They must be a really frustrating team to be a fan of.

Lynch is more valuable than Roddy White heads-up, imo. I agree. But the only downside is Seattle's upcoming schedule. They're up against teams that don't give up that many rushing yards.

I also agree that Lynch is more valuable than White heads up. All being said, he has a log jam at RB which is leaving points on the bench. Trading off any of those assets for an large upgrade at WR will be worth it for him. Edit - Anyone watching ESPN know what was up with Berman's voice? I couldn't tell if he was doing that on purpose of if he is sick or something. I assume he is sick and is losing voice, but it sounds strange for sure.

Oh, I agree that that particular interception wasn't very egregious because of the tip. It doesn't change the fact that it came at a very bad place (opponent's red zone) and bad time (20 seconds left in the half), resulting points being taken away from the Jets and being given to the Texans.

It's better than going for an ultra-conservative, vanilla game plan that only succeeds in maybe bringing down the margin of defeat. The dumb commentators love that, however.

Yeah as far as the jets are concerned a lot of their talent is injured they just had their asses handed to them by the niners might as well go for it or go broke. It's not like it's going to hurt the coaching staff's stock with jets fans at this point.

We're talking about the most clutch man since Kobe Bryant and he's sitting on the bench with 4 minutes left in a 6 point game

I've been thinking about paying for NFL Rewind, or whatever they call it. It's kind of expensive, but seems worth it for football junkies. I'd love to watch games with the coaches cam, but I don't think I'd ever find the time or desire to sit around and try to break down film (I don't even know how).
