Who cares how bad the Madden cover looks. It just became the best year ever. It will include Tebowing!
Tebowmania has gone virtual. Darlington: Another Tebow takeover? Yes, it's happening again, people ... Jeff Darlington believes Tim Tebow is already influencing the Jets' depth chart. More ...
EA Sports' Madden NFL 13 video game will feature "Tebowing," according to the game's creative director.
"Tebowing is in for #madden13," Michael Young said on his Twitter account.
It's not known who, when or how a player will be able to strike the famous genuflection of the New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow, but it's sure to be a popular feature on the game.
Tebowing became a sensation last year when the quarterback assumed the starting job with the Denver Broncos, leading the team to the AFC West crown.
The game will be released on Aug. 28 and will feature Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson on its cover.
Time to pre order!

After all the discussions in both last years and this years NFL threads, I thought this article on the NFL site was really interesting. It discusses the concept of being "a winner," and how the W-L's may warp our perception of players and play, independent of the skill of the player/play itself.
Very interesting read.

So it may not be the best off season for the Dolphins. However their cheerleaders are wanting to ease that pain and help you forget about it.
Video NSFW and you might want to consider muting it. Youtube
To add more hype they just signed Ochocinco to a one year deal.

Just framed my LT jersey today. He was the first player I really loved watching, and maybe the biggest reason I'm a Chargers fan. Thank you for all you did on and off the field, Canton next

eagles to win the super bowl and the giants to not even make the playoffs.
everybody is high on the giants right now, but i think they just caught fire in that run, and i highly doubt they can replicate it.
eagles d will be a lot better with a year and training camp together as long as fletcher cox isn't a bust and demeco ryans is healthy. oh yeah, and stop playing the wide nine! that offense is gonna be insane with shady mccoy in the backfield and a happy djax with maclin as receivers. mike vick will have a great year, and i don't think he'll get hurt much anymore because he learned this off season that he can't be a boss on every play and run over people. heck, even tebow kneels from time to time because this is the nfl
nfc is so stacked right now though. packers, 49ers, eagles, cowboys, giants, falcons, saints, lions, bears. and there are teams on the rise like panthers, seahawks, and i've probably left a few out on both lists

fuck i loved that guy so much.
greatest Charger to ever play. his 2006 season will always fascinate me. dude was a beast among beasts.

Time to start considering whether the Lions can actually win a playoff game this year.
Answer: um, have to make the playoffs again first. That means a wild card - I have no illusions about beating the Packers for the division - so here's the probable competition outside the division:
Atlanta/New Orleans, Cowboys and Eagles/Giants. I don't think the Panthers are quite back yet. Rams or Seahawks could surprise, but eh.
We should have the easy schedule here - NFC West (minus SF) and AFC South (minus HOU) are mediocre to bad unless JAX has a QB this year. If I'm taking odds, I like the Lions to make the playoffs - we could easily see both wildcards from the NFC North.
But if not, will we actually beat out Chicago? I really don't know. The Bears are missing pieces, but at least they have a running back (lol BeSt Best? Smith again for two games?) and Cutler's probably still better than Stafford, though he still doesn't have the receivers to make the entire passing game elite. Also Chicago's o-line might actually be worse than ours. I think that's enough to give us an edge, unless the defense is still poor, in which case who knows?
Rest of the NFC: GB, SF, ATL, PHI for division champions, probably in that order. 2nd wild card should be CHI.
AFC: NE, HOU, SD, BAL division champions. Wild cards PIT and DEN. Raiders finish 8-8 again and fire another coach.

As a Ravens fan I can't shake the feeling we'll implode this year. I just don't get a good vibe from this team... with Suggs going down and so many replacements, and I think Flacco's not going to improve any...

Maybe its just the love for NFC North, but I could definitely see Lions, GB and Bears all making it to the playoffs this year

Man I love Pete Carroll, legendary coach. Terrell Owens has a tryout with the Seahawks on Monday

he's a dick and a retard. also, a mediocre nfl coach.

Terrell Owens had a very impressive workout Monday in Seattle, a league source told ESPN's Ed Werder, and it is expected that the Seahawks will try to sign the free-agent receiver. [source]

It was basically the same formula for the AFC North last year. play the NFC West and AFC South, have a gimme divisional opponent (Replace browns with vikings), and have 3 solid or better teams.

It is possible, especially with that schedule, but I think it is also pushing it a bit. One is more likely.
The NFC south has sent two for a few years running. I think New Orleans and Atlanta are both 10-6 teams at least. That's the biggest threat there. Carolina I think gets to 8-8 but isn't a real threat for a wild card.
I can't see anyone in the NFCW besides the Niners topping 8-8, 9-7.
Maybe two teams go 10-6 in the NFCE. They also very likely could all float around .500. That division is just weird. All those teams are good in some areas but have huge holes in others.
I don't know, I just don't see all three of those teams making 10-6, which I think will be the cut off for wildcards in the NFC. Chicago could be surprising. If they get consistently good line play, Cutler to Marshall is gonna be really scary. Forte is also really good, obviously. The D is old but still really good.

Cutler doesn't need to throw to their punt returning anymore!

Actually, with Marshall there, they've got a decent WR core. Knox, as the 2, Hester or WIlliams in the slot depending on the package. Well, actually, I have no idea if Hester has learned how to run routes yet. I just know he's super fast and his hands are quite meh.

I think if the panthers can get their act together on defense then they can make a splash in the NFC playoffs. Their offense will be one of the best in the league if they continue to improve like they did last year.
|
A player like Cam, who relies a lot on improvising and running, might regress a tad now that defenses will have a full year of him in the NFL to study. Though Cam was twice the thrower he ever was, look at Vick in his 2nd year. Any rookie really. There's also questions if Smith can continue his play, and if any of the other WRs can really step up and be a important factor.
Obviusly the D is the chief difference maker for them, but there are definitely questions on the offense too.
Personally, I think they improve to .500ish, but the Saints and Falcons are still much better overall teams.
|
Hmm Bears have Michael Bush backing up Forte too. Bears definitely looking pretty strong all around. Bush should be a starter somewhere.
On a Fantasy note, this has to be one of murkiest years ever when it comes to RBs. After Foster, Rice, Mccoy and MJD it's pretty damned sparse in terms of a good reliable RB or at least one that doesn't have lots of questions surrounding him. MJD holding out complicates it all even further...
