The GM said they weren't planning on trading either, so I hope thats what happens Of course the GM is going to say he isn't planning on trading them. Why would he purposefully crater either of the trade values by saying he wants them traded so he can give his new RB more carries? Any way you cut it, only 2 of the 3 backs are going to get carries on that team so someone is going to either get traded or left out. That really is the worst excuse you could have for a high 1st round pick. As the #10 pick he should have been expecting to start day 1. Some concern with how Ryans will recover from his injury. It may not be recent, but last season when he returned he seemed out of place and not his old self. Though if he is only able to recover to 80% of what he was, I think he would still be the Eagles best LB. I have no worries for the Eagles making this move, but I question what Houston is planning. Guess the Eagles FO is putting it together a bit more. This move makes great sense for them and unless Ryans severely regresses, they should get a great return.

That really is the worst excuse you could have for a high 1st round pick. As the #10 pick he should have been expecting to start day 1. Well, we had David Garrard who everyone expected to start up until right before the season. Then, we had our backup Luke McCown, who wasn't really worth having in there over Gabbert. The thing is though, we had absolutely no recievers. Our best reciever(our tight end) Marcedes Lewis was coming off of a pro bowl year, and sucked it up in the passing game this past year. It didn't help that our offensive coordinator only threw it when absolutely neccessary and left it all up to MoJo. We'll get some recievers in the draft/maybe one more in free agency and Gabbert will look a lot better than he did last year. If not, he'll probably be looking for another job by the time the next draft comes around.

Saints general manager Mickey Loomis has been suspended for eight games. Former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has been suspended indefinitely.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d827c0dfb/article/sanchez-headache-unleashed-jets-acquire-tebow?module=HP11_cp Peyton Manning is a Denver Bronco. And NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reported the New York Jets have traded a fourth- and sixth-round pick to the Denver Broncos for Tim Tebow and a seventh-rounder. This actually happened. If you had predicted this sequence of events just two months ago, your friends might stop talking to you. As a resident of New York City and a student of the back page tabloids, this is all so delicious; I can barely believe it's true. The New York Daily News came strong Wednesday with their Timsanity cover. Tebow in the big city will make Jeremy Lin's New York run like a cute opening act. So why would the Jets want Tebow? Apparently, the team believes Tebow's magical healing powers could unite a divided locker room. "Bringing in a guy like (Tebow) would help," one source told Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com. "It makes perfect sense."

Cannot believe the owners are letting this clown get away with turning this physical sport into flowers and ponies. Yes, because deterring organizations from paying players to specifically injure certain people (potentially giving them permanent or life-threatening injuries) is the same as turning the sport into "flowers and ponies". I hope you realize that that statement sounds completely ridiculous.

A couple hundred $ doesn't make a player anymore want to injure another when they are getting paid millions. This entire farce of a story will only serve in getting good coaches out of jobs (Peyton) and giving Goodell another excuse to turn the league into flag football.

Is it mainly to remove him from the games or does somebody else have to sign/trade/cut players for a set duration? Yes, i think it basically cannot do anything in the name of the organization and doesn't get paid for the duration. If it was just the GM being suspended then it would not be too much a deal probably, but with the Payton gone as well. It puts pretty much everything in the hands of the owner and coordinators.

It is more the psychological aspect of the bounty than the actual financial part of it. I would put it in the same realm as the achievements that have been surfacing in games in the last 10 or so years. It has a small goal to meet that will get you alittle amount of recognition, maybe a title to show off, or just a check in a box of a list. The point is, you specifically try to achieve that goal rather than thinking of the whole game and it's effects. So instead of a player thinking of seeing the play and then attacking the person that has the ball, thee player is thinking when a specific player gets the ball, i will try my best to injure him. It might seem small, but the human brain responds to some very small stimuli.

Goodell did a lot of stupid things to "soften" up the game. This isn't one of them.

Sucks for the Saints, but I suppose the league needed to send a message about this particular issue. Will be interesting to see how good they are this year with all of these developments. As a Denver resident, all I can say is LOL @ the Jets. It was obvious we weren't going to keep Tebow with a real QB under center, so why trade for him? He was going to be cut or traded away at bottom dollar eventually anyways, and what exactly will he bring to their roster? Are they really going to start him over Sanchez? While I never really liked Sanchez, at least he's better than Tebow. I find it hilarious that now all the rednecks here have to peel their "Tebow Mania" bumper stickers off of their pickup trucks now. The era of Tebow is officially over, and now he can be the Jets' problem.
