This is going to be one hell of an ugly game...
|
This game has been truly wretched.

Matt Cassell is awful.. just awful. Jamaal Charles really is the lone bright spot for this team

I stopped watching the game when the Chiefs fumbled in their own end zone. They had opportunities to make that a close game, they're just far too inept. They're just bad.
Someone should send this to them [image blocked]

I don't know how a team can have such a good RB in Jamaal Charles and be so bad.
Like, I don't even think the talent is the problem. The o-line is pretty solid, just need to cut down on penalties (I'm looking at you Eric Winston). Derrick Johnson is a pretty solid LB, Justin Houston is up and coming, Tamba Hali is getting old but isn't awful. The defensive line does suck, minus our NT and a backup. Brandon Flowers is one of the best corners in the NFL but we have no one besides him. Eric Berry is a solid safety. I like a lot of the pieces we have on offense, although I don't know why they're not playing Steve Breaston in the slot.
It's just crazy how they've found ways to mess it up, it's almost unbelievable. I don't think a rebuild will even take that long if they can get a good QB with a high pick that will rally the team and be a leader. However, obviously Pioli needs to be fired and I think getting absolutely smashed on national TV two weeks in a row (they have the Steelers on MNF next week) will be nice because it will allow the world to see how bad this team really is and the media will focus on it more.
I had such high hopes for this team and it's really sad. Just gotta keep up hope that the future will be brighter with a new coach and GM...

Wait, wait, you just made mention of all the talent this team has, and the GM needs to be fired? Looks to me like the only mistake he's really made is Cassel, and maybe his coaching choices.

Most of the talent was acquired from the former GM (Carl Peterson), although I should have pointed that out. Pioli got Eric Berry (good pick), Dontari Poe (still has to prove himself, could be good or bad), Justin Houston, Arenas as a solid punt returner but a subpar nickleback and Dexter McCluster as a wildcard basically. All of his other picks in the draft were pretty much garbage, and even the talented ones haven't proven to be much besides Berry and maybe Houston. He let Brandon Carr walk, a very solid CB that fit in really well with this team, and signed Stanford Routt, who has way too many penalties and does a pretty poor job. Talks aren't going very well with Bowe either and if Pioli is still GM after this year (unlikely), there's no way Bowe comes back. It'll kill me to see the Chiefs let one of the best receivers they've had in a while go for nothing, but I can't say I'd blame Bowe for wanting to leave.
I think any GM that hires two coaching staffs in four years and will have to fire both of them is doing a pretty bad job. Let's just say there's a lot, and I mean a lot of frustration in Chiefs nation right now.

Chiefs opponent is a very nice D/ST play. And many of their future opponents should still be widely available.

Have to pick one wide receiver in 1 ppr.
Stevie Johnson @ HOU James Jones @ ARI Andre Roberts @ GB Cecil Shorts @ DET
I am really having trouble with this one =/ Thanks
|
Well if nelson is out, and I assume he is, Jones is practically their number 1 guy so he might be worth a start. Tough call though.
Does anyone think Titus Young will actually keep up his productivity? He's been great since burleson went down. I was offered him for Mendenhall. I'm kind of weak at WR but it's hard to give away a (potentially) starting RB when he's healthy.

So, Sean Payton's contract has been voided and he will be a free agent head coach after he serves his suspension.

James Jones. Nelson is going to be limited and they're hit hard by injuries at WR. He'll be targetted alot.

I don't get how that works. Didn't the NFL already approve his contract last year (or the year before)? How do they get to retro-actively void his contract? Wouldn't that have to be done by the Benson(aka the guy who actually pays Payton)?
Also I find it ironic that the NFL by voiding Payton's contract is likely going to create a large bidding war on the FA head coach.

There's a stipulation in Payton's contract that the NFL can review and void it if his General Manager gets suspended.
If Payton does actually leave then I might have to assassinate Goodell.

looking at the scoreboard....31 points already for the bears and it is only the second quarter with 11:44 remaining until half-time....o_O
|
The Bears Defense is one of the most beastly I've ever seen, at least when you account for how many points THEY have scored. Have they scored like 9 defensive TDs this year?
