Hey, now that's not nice. I prefer not to be engulfed in flames.
From a fantasy standpoint, though, Gates finally did something for me this week... the only week I didn't need him. -_-
jesus christ i was stuck with Phil this week in one of my leagues because of bye weeks and i just needed him to score 6 points. Had 12 at half and he ended with 5...
So the Broncos, yet again, play half a game of football... So sickening. Imagine what this team could be if they showed up in the first half? They have been heads and tails above every team they've played in the second half, but start out so pathetically, that they're 3-3. If they EVER learn to play in the first half, the entire NFL will need to be on watch, because if they could play even half as well in the first two quarters as they do in the third and fourth, they would be on top of everyone's list as the best team in the NFL.

Awwwwww yes.
Peyton, I've never been a fan and you're on an underachieving team in a horrible division and I think you'll regret not giving Seattle (DEFENSE!) a legitimate consideration in the offseason, but thank you for allowing me to do the victory dance I have prepared for tomorrow morning.
Last I saw, the score was 24-14 and I remember thinking, oh, maybe Denver will make a game of it. I didn't think they'd go on to score 21 more unanswered points. Poor San Diego fans..
lol Norv Turner. Laziest head coach in the NFL. I bet all the players are gonna go at bat for him after the Chargers finish 7-9 because they love his powderpuff practices and lax preparation that always leads to them massively underperforming.

My buddy has been bitching about Gates for weeks now. He finally has a good game and the rest of his FF team played terrible. Every time Gates did something good he would rage.

79-3 in the fourth quarter one of the announcers mentioned at the end of the game.
The general existence of the chargers irks me and I have no emotional investment in them. Why is Norv still their coach and why is Phil considered anything but an extremely mediocre QB?
I am convinced that the way the Gators and Broncos play is based off of how they watched Tebow play. Only do anything productive in the second half, mostly the fourth quarter. Once Sanchez loses his starting job, the Jets will turn into the same type of team. Just watch.

It must be unbearable for Chargers fans.
Rivers had several years of superb performance after he took over Brees' job. It's only these last 2 years he's looked anything but elite.
Coming into the 2010 season, it wasn't even a question if he was a top 5 QB. People were wondering if he was the #1 QB.
Rivers was always a bit inaccurate on his throws, but he had huge receivers that would make up for him. Often his throws are higher than they should be, or just a little wider than they should be, but when a QB has guys with the wingspans of Antonio Gates and Vincent Jackson (i.e. ENORMOUS wingspans), and halfbacks that catch everything thrown at them (a la Tomlinson and Sproles), it's easier to look good. As well, his offensive line does not provide the type of protection it did during his heyday. A lot of things are working against him right now, and he doesn't really have the ability to compensate for a lack of talent at his disposal.

More importantly, it coincides with the loss of one Darren Sproles. He lost Sproles last year, and started to go down the tubes. Gates has been injury prone for at least four years now. During two of those four years, Rivers was still putting up huge numbers throwing to V Jackson, Malcolm Floyd, and Darren Sproles. But defenses no longer have to account for the backfield threat, so they can sit back in coverage more, which makes things a lot harder when your ball placement isn't perfect.

More or less. I'm still fairly confident that, had they kept together Shotty's team, the Chargers would have won at least one Super Bowl. They had it all, but let it slip away with careless mistakes. I think they would have been nearly as good the following season, though LT would certainly not have been as good (MVP year and all).
