It's official. UFC 145 will be headlined by Jones vs Evans for the Light Heavyweight Title in Atlanta on April 21, 2012.
UFC 145 Champ Jon Jones vs. Rashad Evans (for light-heavyweight title) Michael McDonald vs. Miguel Torres Maximo Blanco vs. Marcus Brimage Mark Hominick vs. Eddie Yagin Rory MacDonald vs. Che Mills Ben Rothwell vs. Brendan Schaub Mark Bocek vs. Matt Wiman Travis Browne vs. Chad Griggs John Makdessi vs. Anthony Njokuani Mac Danzig vs. Efrain Escudero Chris Clements vs. Keith Wisniewski
Evans knows Jones weakness and has a blueprint in Jones vs. Machida. I hope Evans wins, just to stop the Jones train a bit and send Jones to the heavyweight division. This is going to be tough for Evans though, as Jones seem way ahead of everybody now. Smart bet is on Jones. But I have a vague feeling this will be a wtf upset.
Moreover, this is the worst undercard ever. Dana White is really milking the events. There should at least be two or three main event-worthy matches in the UFC, even in non-PPVs. This is like boxing where you watch only the main event.

i agree the main event is a little top heavy compared to some of the other fights but i still enjoy watching guys i don't know fight it out. I will even go to say some of the facebook and preliminaries are more entertaining that some of the main card fight in someone of the previous UFC's i've watched.
I actually rather want to see most fights on this card, the Clements one is the only one I don't have any feeling on. I really, really hope Rashad beats Jones but I just don't see it happening. Mills-Macdonald will be awesome, especially can't wait to see that one =)
I didn't see the Rashad vs Davis fight, how close was it? Wiki just says won majority descion? Other than that im pretty sure Jones is untouchable in this division by a long mile.
I think Evans is going to be a very tough fight for Jones. Evans dismantaling Phil davis was really impressive. The height and reach advantage did nothing. This will be the real king maker fight imo. If Jones can beat Evans, he's going to hold onto that title for a long time.
I think Jones smashes Evans. Jones has a incredible reach advantage and definitely puts in to use. I'm assuming Rashad will look to get takedowns, but Jones has outwrestled all his opponents fairly easily. If Rashad can actually get Jones on his back, Jones may lose, but I don't see that happening.

Rashad dominated Davis every round. He was super composed and made Davis look like it was his first time wrestling in MMA. He put Davis in an iron cross(I think that's what its called, has control of both arms and can just punch him in the face unimpeded) THREE TIMES.
can't see jon jones losing at ALL in every department - wrestling jones has a good or greater wrestling ability based on his genetics, he has taken out ryan bader who was 11-0? while rashad may have the upper hand i don't think it's good enough and i don't evne know why people claim rashad has the better wrestling. look at the fight between rashad and rampage where rashad was UNABLE to keep rampage down and execute his game plan and luckily escaped a barrage of combos. whereas look at the jones vs rampage and how rampage was unable to do ANYTHING in the striking department vs jones and the fact he eventually got tangled up and choked out. - striking, unorthodox, reach advantage, you don't know what's going to hit you and he hits it almost all the time with devastating power, the elbows will end you if they hit you look at the american psycho, vera, and mat hamil what elbows did to them - submission game / jiu jitsu jones can pull almost any type of submission only after seeing it once and he'll use his size and lengthy advantange to make it work. who honestly can pull a standing guillotine on someone in the LHW and do it like it was nothing? machida got raped. - ability to take a hit they are about equal in this department. no one has seen jones stunned or dazzed but we've seen rashad knocked out. so even then i give the advantage to jones in this department because rashad has already shown the symptoms of someone developing a glass jaw if he gets KOED again.
Yea I'm really stoked for this one. Main event has been a loooong time in coming. Rory Macdonald is from the Okanagan, same as me, so I'm stoked to see him as well.
It's not a huge card on paper, but I'm excited for this one.
Michael McDonald vs Miguel Torres Rory Macdonald vs Che Mills Rashad Evans vs Jon Jones
These 3 get me excited. Also, Rothwell appears to be in excellent shape, the very best shape he's been in, ever. I thought Schaub would beat him quite convincingly but I'm having my doubts now.
In the Evans vs Jones I'm picking Evans by TKO/KO either second or third round. They both have good cardio, but if it goes to decision I think Jones is the better point fighter.
Ben Rothwell is one of the worst fighters I've ever seen in the heavyweight division. The guy gases in every single one of his fights and I don't see his cardio changing one bit for this one either. Even though he's one of the toughest guys to put away, I, in no way shape or form, see Schaub losing this fight.
