- better wrestling - 'bigger brother' mentality - faster and better technically than anyone Jones has fought - experience, more wily - Jones hasn't ever had to gut out a victory, Rashad has been there (close to losses) many times - Rashad thrives on being the underdog - arguably executes game plans better than anyone other than GSP To Jones' advantage: - Evans got beat by a fast guy who uses unorthodox strikes, timing and range, perfect for Jones - Physical advantage (Rashad could fight MW), range height and weight - Confidence It's going to be a tough one to call but my eventual opinion is that I weigh it 60:40 in favour of Evans.

Depends on how you define faster, Evans is more explosive in his legs than Machida is and his hooks are way faster than Machida's but on the flip side pretty much all other types of strikes are faster for Machida. Better wrestling is up for debate to be honest and I don't even think you can make that good of a comparision between them anyway simply because of how different their wrestling is, Evans wrestling is based on well-timed shoots that he mixes in with his striking while Jones wrestling is greco-roman based and therefore very clinched based with trips, sweeps and tosses. I don't see how the 'bigger brother'-thing makes any sense, you can't possibly know how the fighters actually feel about eachother or how that's going to effect the fight, more so than counting it as an advantage for one fighter it should be a question mark imo, if you're going to have it there at all. To say that because Evans lost to Machida that somehow means that Jones is a horrible opponent for him is really weird to me, how on earth are Machida and Jones similiar at all?

I think Evans is going to be submitted (darce choke imho). I am looking for wonderboy to make his 2nd appearance

It's been a while since I bet this much on a fight but I have $3500 on Jones please don't fail me. Basically I think there is no way for Rashad to win this one and would probably have set the line around -1000 or so. Jones has seemed untouchable against Bader/Shogun/Jackson/Machida and I don't think stylistically Rashad has a good matchup here. The only way I can see Rashad win is by an incredible punch like he finished Liddell with in 2008. Against good opponentsy Rashad is a decision fighter (Davis, Jackson, Thiago), and I just don't see a way for him to ever decision Jones. On top of that Rashad slows down a lot in later rounds, so even if he scored a dominant round 1 or 2 I still don't see him getting a decision. He has to finish it and everybody in Jones' camp knows it.

It happened in ATL, hopefully history doesn't repeat itself in the same arena for your sake. ![]() Edit: On April 21 2012 19:33 Insomniac22 wrote: If Rothwell doesn't gas (which he does a lot) he might fair well. Griggs is +220 and the best HW of all time if you don't count any of the good ones. The bookies are basically asking you to take their money.

I echo that the only way I see Rashad winning is with a bomb like he landed on Chuck honestly. Not taking anything away from him, but Jon Jones is just on another level in my opinion. I get this picture of Jon simply ragdolling Rashad which will be interesting to see. Should be good anyway!

You can call that big brother mentality all you want and he knows what it's like to lose and that's exactly what he's been hammering home. Eventually Long Bones Jones will lose, but it probably won't be to Rashad. He'll make a good fight out of it though! P.S. I like this card, I don't know why people are so mad when they don't see the usual suspects. In fact a lot of these guys are pretty well known in MMA.
