And it's funny nobody's talking about the Ramon Sessions story, even though he's on the Lakers now. An undraftedunheralded second round pick relegated to the D-league, gets his chance, plays out of his mind, puts up huge numbers, and makes dramatic clutch plays.

So many interesting things that come up in this discussion (as usual on RealGM when certain posters are involved) that will help some of you see the sport in an enlightening way.
If there is one post that is one you must read because it's a long thread, read this one:
UR 2nd Post includes this, which I want to point out something that I am skeptical of:
C) It always happens. The above two scenarios run teams into the iso-defense. The Bulls break down all team offense and the team reverts to one on one offense. It happens every single game. The Heat love to get baited into this. The Bulls don't change anything from above, and because the team is no longer trying to make passes they are easily contained.
All of this is orchestrated by the big men in the paint who use the perimeter defenders as pawns for the defense. Rose, Deng, and Brewer are extremely good at funneling players to the right spots. THe difference between Rose and Deng/Brewer is that Deng and Brewer are not only able to deny the middle of the lane, they are also able to slow and impede drives towards the big men. That is why they are better than Rose. Rose is the best defender we have at the top of the key though and in pick and rolls; his speed, strength, size, and agility is unmatched on our defense. Opposing guards have extreme difficulty even getting shots off against him in the paint between his overwhelming physical talent and his excellent ball funneling. While Deng and Brewer show plus ability in funneling and even making what the defense WANTS the ball handler to do difficult, they are not our defensive best. That title belongs to Noah.
The Heat beat the Bulls last year because Lebron and Bosh won this battle. They are too good in ISO, particularly if Lebron hits 3s and bosh hits his 15 footers.
I agree with some of AntiGrav1ty's and Ace's post on the MVP topic, so I was hoping the link wouldn't lead into MVP talk too much, but wasn't about that at all and has some really good stuff, specially about the insight into the Bulls system.

The OP in that thread threw me off, if you're on a winning team with the biggest plus point differential in the NBA and you get more minutes (and have more games played), surely you'll be a +/- stud compared to someone who doesn't play the same minutes? And the second link was all about the Bulls defense and how Noah is so important, which everyone already knew? Did I miss something crucial? I just skimmed through it really :o
Yes, you missed a lot I would say, lol.
and @clutz: I see what you are saying but if the Heat win that battle, then they win that battle, props to them. Chi still gave its team the best chance to win according to the circumstances, it's up to the Heat players to knock down those shots to beat them. If Lebron is shooting 3s and Bosh is taking 15 footers (I am assuming unassisted) off an ISO offense, then that means they are not penetrating the defense, which is what CHI wants.

2009 and 2010 Lakers championship runs wouldn't have happened the way they did without Fish.
He single handedly saved us during the decisive game 3 in Boston with his insane 4th quarter, and in Orlando his clutch shooting sealed the deal in 5 when the Magic were looking to come back into it.
Also he's also heralded by every teammate he's ever played with as an off the court leader in the locker room. Something many teams do not have at all. This role shouldn't be understated, just look at how the Clippers have been doing without Chauncey Billups another man often credited as being a legit team leader.

You know how Lakers fans are... Fisher became the most underrated player in the league (not that he's been playing great, just that the level of criticism he's been getting was absurd). He was the scapegoat for everything wrong in the team, anything that'll keep people from looking at the real problems (like a certain player's shot selection problem).

If they did make the playoffs, they'd play the Bulls (or Heat, but most likely Bulls) first round.
