Hows PvP/Arena looking in MoP? To me, and a lot of the other competitive PvPers who were very good, the gradual unbalancing of the game from BC to Cata killed the vast majority of the game

No rotation is that simple now. Shield Bash > rend > spam devastate > over 80 rage use heroic strike.
thunderclap once in a while to refresh rend or something

Its Friday, how come im not seeing a million raid boss kills?

In previous expansions we've had entire raid dungeons down by this point.

The first raid doesn't unlock for 2 weeks till release

Oh sure, for most decent players warrior tanking wasn't necessarily hard. It's just that Paladins and Druids were absolute faceroll heroic tanks. People wanted them over warriors because they had AoE threat in spades by comparison. The warrior was still the single target king, but trash in raids? Step aside, Paladin coming through.

Thunderclap in defensive stance was also one of those near end-of-expansion changes too. It was a nice change for those that were still running anything I suppose.

can't tell if world pvp is very prevalent in other areas but leveling up and going about my business I am mauling a fuckton of people as I go, literally leaving places covered in corpses

haven't had that much of a world PVP experience in wotlk or cata, maybe it's because it's still early days but still

First one mogushan vaults are opened, and 2 weeks after that the 2 raids that are 496 open, though to get to the second raid of those 2 u have to beat the first one.

That isn't hardmode there 3 different raids that are coming out with release basically, 1 489 item level gear and 2 496 item level gear raids. All with different bosses and everything.
The gating i don't know.

Hard modes are the same as theyve ever been. Requires 1 clear of the raid, and then the next week you can move into hardmodes.

The so called "gating" is they're not releasing all the instances at once, and you're required to clear the first one released before you can enter the next 2 released.

u srs? I remember warlock tanking in pvp gear thru BC heroics(well the easy ones and this was before Black Temple). that said, there were SOME heroics tho that were STUPID hard, like Crypts(dumb ass mind control) and Mechanar.


Mechanar was like the easiest heroic in TBC? Out of the three tempest keep heroics, alcatraz was probably the hardest. Most people would probably say shattered halls was the hardest, along with maybe shadow labyrinth.

Yeah Mech was pretty much the only heroic I did early tbc, along with Slave pens

Shattered halls, Arcatraz and Dark Portal were the hardest in early tbc imo due to them punishing lack of gear more than the others. Shadow labs was relatively easy even with bad gear if people knew the tacts.

I haven't really leveled much but ... battle pets are a ton of fun! It's the pokemon MMO we never had (albeit vastly simplified mechanics). Really hope they keep expanding on it!

No offense.. But some of you seem like really bad players to be talking about how tbc heroics were so insanely difficult.

They weren't hard. What made them hard was having idiots without brains in your group. (for example: Having a drooler hunter that didn't know how to trap / chain-trap. Or mages that didn't have the presence of mind (no pun intended) to sheep something again after it breaks the first one. The heroics themselves weren't overly gear dependent or difficult.. But they punished retards, unlike the content that is out now.

I remember doing the larger pulls in heroic slave pens back in the day.. One idiot in your group and it was gg, you're chain wiping and not finishing the place.

Content was way more fun that way. Now its just dumbed down to an outrageous extent, and is why I'm not touching this game again.

Nowadays a tank can just charge in and aoe tank the shit out of stuff without having to break a sweat (because of not having to worry about dropping below 75% hp).. And then all the dps in the group has to worry about is smashing their face on 1,2,3 to do damage.
