Hmm - if i wanna get involved, is anyone willing to take me on?
I'm an ultra-hardcore player who gets things done and works great in a team, and if i play this game, thats exactly what i want to do here I've played normal minecraft before, but not this I also don't want to be at a huge disadvantage to everyone else because i havnt played as much, but i guess with this new "round" thing it might be an opportunity to jump in
I'm looking for an ultra-agressive faction with hardcore players >)
Any factions out there looking for someone like me? I do really want to try this out

Personally I'm not into Minecraft MP for the PvP since I assume it's pretty damn stupid. What's there for me to do on the TL server? =)
Would be awesome if I'd get some feedback before I start right in. =)
Bumping this since I'd really like some answers. Kinda goes hand in hand with the post above me. =P

The MP can be less monotonus than SP, and you do get other people to play with so you don't have to gather all of the stuff by yourself.
Every day there's usually something going on, but unless you're directly involved you don't really know what happened, you just hear a bunch of people talking/complaining about it in the chat.
This IS a PvP server but there are peaceful factions, one does farming, the other one sits around and gathers materials all day pretty much for making redstone stuff. (Planning on some sort of railroad.)
PvP probably can be fun but I haven't really fought anyone so I wouldn't know.

Yeah, coming from stuff like EvE/Quake/SC in terms of multiplayer I kinda doubt that leftclicking people with swords is fun. :X
No idea how that turns out, lol. What IS pvp in minecraft?

Essentially it is as you described it on a personal level, leftclicking people with swords. The most individual skill (which isn't that much) comes from positioning yourself to get a hit off on the opponent without taking one yourself, but that really is up to luck more often than not on who has a better ping to the server at the given time (reconnecting often gives you great ping for a couple minutes).
In groups, it's mostly about who has more people, but organization plays a large roll as well. I wouldn't say it compares anything to Eve PvP, but at the same time it's got a lot more instant gratification (higher quantity/less quality. pros/cons) than Eve, which requires a lot more prudence and planning.

About the MP changes, you can simply acomplish greater things, and have other people to see what you do. Plus, there's the PvP factor: you can make a badass castle, but you have to make it so that it's actually hard to attack. And if you use TS, you can be very coordinated in what you do, build, attack, etc.
About the factions, here is a quick overview of those I know:
- Loners: dominant faction, very very active, mostly interested in PvP, very aggressive, great coordination. They usually don't recruit nubs.
- Mafia: another strong faction, mildly aggressive. Awesome coordination. They are, however, a "family" that comes from the Mafia TL subforums: no one can join.
- Sandpeople: Like Loners, but not as powerful and therefore quieter and more peaceful.
- Oldblood: After a merge with another faction, they reached 30~ members, which is a lot. Coordinated core members.
- Exodites: Friendly faction, not very active on the PvP side of things, will accept most people who apply.
-My faction, Reapers: Aggressive, hunts down random players, not very active at the moment. Very aggressive at the start, will raid a lot if the active members come back.
The rest I don't know them very well. I suggest you try to join Loners or Sandpeople if you like BM, aggressivity and committment to the game. However, if you're EU, Exodites have a lot of EU players so you will have people online to play with you.

Btw Loners and Mafia, does this mean you will have to split?

I am going to post this pre-emptively in preperation for round 3, before anyone asks there has been no date specified for the end of round 2, but I'm putting this here so that I can recruit the members nessisary for it.
In round 3 I will not be leader of the faction 'Loners', I believe that over round 1 and 2 we have made a sufficient name for ourselves and it is time for someone else to take up the torch of the major aggression faction.
I will be creating a faction with a slightly different goal in round 3 and the details below will explain our goals/ideoligy.
Just to say, If anyone happens to create the Loners faction on round 3 then it is under new management and would not be affiliated with the Unkighted faction.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/dPbKM.png) Name : Uknighted
Status : Neutral
Member status : 7/10 - Open for recruitment, members must be active - Previous members of Loners have priority.
Description : Uknighted are neither a defensive or aggressive faction, instead we choose to uphold the equilibrium on the server, where no faction can get any more powerful than another, we have no allies and no enemies. We will be upholding the law of our faction and exacting justice as we see fit, one of our many laws will be spawn killing, if you break one of these laws then our faction lords will pass judgment and deal out whatever punishment we see fit, this is applicable to both members of the faction and players of the server. We are not a religious faction and follow no religious views, we are not the server law but we follow any rules set out by the server owner and admins. Our activity on the server is 100% based upon the population of the server, we will be aggressive if needed and defencive if needed, we will not be able to be bought by other factions, only reasoned with, If we decide that a faction needs to be stopped when they are in the process of attacking another faction then we will stop them, unbiased towards the attackers or defenders, if the defenders get in our way then they will see the same fate as their attackers.
There are some rules to joining the faction which will be explained via teamspeak (which is a requirement) before accepting the member.
If you wish to apply for Uknighted then message me in game : Protentus through a member who has my skype details or via team liquid private message.
Thank you, have a nice day and I hope to see you all on the field of battle soon enough.
Update
Current members of Uknighted :

Loners are already splitting up for next server since we all agree that we wanted more of a challenge

I think mafia will probably dissolve, with our members getting merged into loners or protentus's new faction there. After the first reset half our crew stopped playing and after this new one with the team cap I think the rest of us will probably either get absorbed into new factions (like Groky, the co-leader) or go back to playing LoL (like me, the other co-leader).
Of course I'm not speaking for my team right now, this is just my suspicions. People may feel otherwise, and if somebody else wants to head up the mafia faction I wish them all the luck in the world (lookin @ you redff1). That being said, I'm going to leave my shit right where it is for awhile.

SadMadBad will be making a new faction as well with a member or two from this Loners faction.

I have a feeling the Unknighted will disapprove of my solo-pvp activities x)
edit: loled at the timeline as well
My main concern is that everyone pretty much universally agreed map 1 was a bit too small at the time, which ran like -1000 to 1000 (?). Round to was upped all the way to 4000 (I think?) because of this fact, which is a pretty big difference (too much obviously) and everyone complained that one was too big. I'm just confused why you don't go a middle road of 1250, 1500, or 1750, or at least map 1 size of 1000, rather than 750 which is another drastically large change from 4000. What's to keep map 3 from being too small at 750 when a lot of people agreed map 1 was small, yet larger than 750? I predict this could be an issue but I hope I'm wrong.
Other than that, really looking forward to Map 3, seems like everything else will be a big improvement, especially the market system.

So when does the new round start? I assume my TGP boys will be back for another round

Round 3 sounds fantastic, will return to activity for that. (bring it on nao!)
