Nah, the deagle will never be as effective in this game as long as the hitbox and sync issues remain.

Why do you even bother reading HLTV though. Each time I read a post I wanted to kill myself at the time CS:GO came out, because of the "1.6vsCSSvsCSGO" posts you found in every single thread..

Because it's fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun! :D Seriuosly it is, HLTV is maybe the biggest retard magnet in the history of the internet. Even the pillars of stupidity that you find on reddit are nothing compared to your everyday HLTV post.

Sounds like all the BW vs SC2 posts when SC2 came out, albeit even more toxic.
It does feel like they nerfed CZ waaaay to the ground. Probably to see how much use it'll get and stuff. If after they find it's completely pointless now, they might either lower price again, or increase one of damage, rate of fire, or draw animation. Maybe. I would've thought the damage and rate of fire was enough.

People wanted CZ nerfed because cs is a better game without as evidenced by over a decade's worth of competitive CS before the CZ ever existed. The only people who are sad about it being nerfed are the same people who abused it every time they should have been saving money or some idiots who paid too much money for skins. The cz basically reduced the advantage gained from winning the pistol round in addition to made more expensive guns such as the AK or M4 less effective than a $500 pistol in many situations. That isn't really how cs is supposed to be played. It was too random. My belief is that with these changes that teams like NIP or VP will see tremendous success because teams like fnatic and ldlc abused the CZ almost any chance they could get. More effort/thought will be put into eco rounds and more pistol kills will take true aim skill. Fuck the cz forever.

I guess it's back to M4A4 for meeeeee The 2 reasons I used silenced was the $200 and my skin.

And even if we were, the deagle being the games most common side arm would make csgo 1000x better than the current CZ shit fest.

I would have preferred some sort of buff to the deagle's stats over a change in it's cost. I don't have a problem with powerful pistols existing so long as they are priced accordingly.
Buying a $800 deagle is giving up a nade, a smoke and a flash next round if you don't win or get kills with it. even after a kill you are down a smoke and a flash which is still very relevant. To me that opportunity cost is always going to be high enough that teams won't just force every round with half rifles and half (used to be CZ, in my scenario deagle) buys.
But I'll admit that I'm far from knowledgeable about CS.

Deagle was great when it was more accurate, one deags now are pure fluke at range. Especially as its price point meant you couldnt buy anything else
It was the long range pistol with decent penetration. Now it has no aim and no magazine and huge recoil if u spam, why bother. As you say the utility of other items faar outstrips its usefulness.
problem is that as CT on an eco there are no weapons that are anti awp, the deag was that and as such gave a small role for close range weapons deeper into a streak of buy rounds.
EG that silenced smg (cant belive i forgot its name) in tunnels of d2 with a deag for when u rotate to long.

TMP ? People actually used TMP lol ?

cz nerfs did go overboard
of the 5 nerfs given to it like 3 would've been enough or even 2 if those 2 had been the slower firerate and smaller magazine
$100 kill reward is dumb, personally i think all guns should give atleast $300 for kill including the awp. smg's and shotguns giving more than that is fine.
the slower animation is very annoying and definitely my least favorite of the nerfs, makes using the gun feel sluggish and that's always a bad thing. i haven't played dota in a long time but for similar reasons i always saw nerfs to turning speeds or cast times as worst possible nerfs because they make the hero feel less responsive.
a1 price increase to $3100 is fair considering how hard the a1 has dominated in high levels of play, although i wouldn't mind one extra magazine along with the price increase
my biggest pet peeve in csgo, and one of the biggest reasons why this game is so much more ct sided than the previous ones, still remains unchanged:
the smokes. the grey walls of death.
also now that the cz won't get as much attention anymore i expect people to soon realize that the 57 and tec9 are also borderline overpowered, particularly tec9 that even got stealth buffed in this patch
edit: to add about the deagle, my biggest problem with deagle is that the recovery time in accuracy after the first bullet is way too long. it's actually so long that if i recall correct doing a quick qq instantly after firing your shot resets the accuracy faster than waiting it out

Smokes are fine. If anything their duration could be reduced by like 3-5 seconds. They add a lot of strategy to the game for both sides and help provide a lot of value to the game in terms of knowledge/skill required to improve.

inferno is a good example of how the smokes have made maps more CT sided, since inferno is a map where the T's often simply have to run through smoke and hope for the best. with the current csgo smokes, it is trivially easy for CT's to mow down the T's as they come through the smoke since they see the T's way before the T's can see anything but grey
i loved how you used to be able to sneakily walk through smokes with unexpected timing and catch people off-guard, now that is incredibly unlikely to work if someone is watching the smoke since you need to walk like 5 metres out of the smoke before you see anything. i hate how as it stands you need to treat smokes as impenetrable walls that you should always wait out to expire.

I don't know if we're even playing the same game; as far as I know, the deagle standing accuracy is higher than the AK. When you're crouched, it's almost perfectly accurate. In my opinion, for 700 dollars, it's a perfectly viable buy on ecos if your aim is decent. Maybe I wouldn't buy it in a high stake game, but in its current state it's not a useless buy by any means. Being able to 2 shot people from close to mid ranges, and to one shot headshot on ecos is really good. Anyway, I'm buying it all the damn time, because it's fun and I kill people with it :D
Also, just played against an obvious hacker for my first MM game in a long while. New account, no badge, no rank, and more obvious wallhacks and trigger than if you wanted to be show you were hacking on purpose. The new train is really great though!

don't know about you guys but i didn't even consider MM timers, i consider them irrelevant since they are only used in MM

Not a fan of argument for nerfing A1. Hey, other gun isn't used that much so let's nerf the other gun so that this one gets used more. Don't know if it's about skins or what, but the reasoning is just wrong imho.
