The A1 is a bit better than the A4 and most maps are CT sided. The only choice is to nerf the A1 slightly. | ||

![]() just as a random question btw, iv noticed whenever i tune in to watch some cs i see that the casters always mention the maps ct sided on prettymuch every map rather than dust 2, have maps ever been T sided or has the game always been ct favoured in general (i know they have the defenders advantage but isnt that balanced by more expensive guns/buys?) also would you recomend learning to rifle or learning to awp for someone new to the game? | ||

IMO The thing with maps its mostly comes down to how fast can you relocate from A to B, most balanced maps are based around the fact that theres a lot of space between one site and the other. Most maps doesnt have that space, or have some kind of tunnel from CT that makes a fast transition (Overpass for example). So, as CT even if you fail at reading T strategy you still can transition from A to B quite fast, have enough time to retake + defuse Dust 2 (for example) does not have that luxury, theres a lot of space between sites (which means CT has to divide themself between 3 spots, middle, A and B) and theres not a tunnel that could get you in a decent position to retake, from A the safest spot comes from upper CT spawn i would say, because from CT spawn or Long you are just too open, and B is nigh impossible unless you have perfect synergy with your team Of course this doesnt take into account that B on Dust 2 (or example) can be defended with just 1 or at most 2 players if you arent lucky enough, Overpass A its pretty hard to attack as T and stuff. But at the end a lot of comes from who is playing against who, how good does the entry fragger is, etc... At least thats what i think :p | ||

It depends how fast you want to rank up. If you want to rank up really quick, just learn to awp, and you'll be double ak rank in no time, though I think around that rank it becomes exponentially harder to successfully awp. I don't know if you play or know much about smash bros melee, but awping is kind of like playing Marth. Much easier than other top tiers at lower level play, but once you get to a point its much harder to advance your play | ||

![]() That said, I like new train on paper but I played it and meh, wide open long distances everywhere... it's not as bad as it used to be I guess, because you can actually see shit, but it's a great map for the awp, and you need a lot a lot of smokes and flashes to navigate around as T, which has always been true, but it's easy to guess where the CTs are and in my very limited experience, it seems like I get spammed through smokes a lot at T... I just kind of wish they'd made outside a bit smaller. But that's me. Anyways, probably more balanced than before, just not my type of map. | ||
