Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago. Riding on the fame of early CS we bring you this source engine based $ cow.... gt*o CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac. Wth, did source ever win an award for anything?

Yes, Source in fact is on a vox populi basis the better game of the two. 9.0 user score vs 8.7. It cannot be denied, the mass of users prefers the newer game. And this is on Gamespot which is in general a nostalgia-biased game, with older platformers and PC games generally having a higher rating than new games. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/counterstrikesource/index.html http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/halflifecounterstrike/index.html

Deny spots in the main? Where is that? You mean inner? Maybe with a shot in the dark you can hit someone through hut into connector (which is unlikely) or something along those lines, but nothing big and you can pretty much move wherever you like inner, unless they catch you on top of hut and nade spam. Getting spammed in radio room isn't the problem, the problem is when you PUSH through radio room, there is a spam spot from ramp room that goes directly into the radio room door, which is kind of IMPOSSIBLE to avoid. So, if you rush and the CTs are there in time, you`re pretty screwed as you`re going to lose at least one guy or if they communicate properly during the round. You can actually spam that spot from inner as well. You do realize that default plant spot is also spammable by the CTs right? It goes both ways, since you can routinely catch the guy planting by spamming from outside. Disagree all you like, but there's no way in hell the terrorists have an advantage over the CTs on de_nuke.

I'm Swedish so we have different names for stuff. "Main" is the room below the roof you can jump down to from the red rock overlooking yard. It's still a CT-sided map, I just think that T has the advantage in terms of being able to utilize spamming. On some maps it's the opposite, like train where CTs have better spam opportunities. Of course it's still a map where both teams spam a ton.

There are tons of mods (amxx + metamod plugins). My personal favorite is Ultimate Warcraft 3 (it's like the Warcraft 3 mod except you do not choose races and you can choose from every ability from all races in the regular WC3 mod + there are more abilities and attributes and resistances too). Point is I think Counter Strike 1.6 rivals WC3 in terms of fun mods but sad thing is CS 1.6 is kind of dead (well in terms of mods. There are tons of mods but few servers use anything besides WC3 and Zombie mod. This is out of mods like the Pokemon mod, Diablo mod, or random fun stuff like rockets and flame throwers). Well hopefully the new CS will support mods just the same and won't just cause a separation of the CS community into 3 parts. I disliked CS Source because it added nothing new at all. All CS Source did was split the CS communities into two. Also mod development was split [amxx vs sourcemod] thus slowing the development of mods in general (instead of time spent developing new mods for 1.6, redevelop old mods from 1.6 to Source). and well it sort of just hurt the community IMO. Also that and they removed VIP mode. Sure VIP mode isn't a "competitive" mode but it was sure fun for pubs (especially with the WC3 or Ultimate WC3 mod too, heh). [Same reason I disliked BF2142. It only came out a year after BF2 but it split the community into two >.<].

Please don't let this end up as another ruined saga due to the popularity of gaming, because the CS series is one of the few real gems left today.. I agree to not "CoD"-ing the CS series, but I feel obligated to remind you of the one CS game that was far below their standards: Condition Zero. But I still have hopes for this.

"Marek ".PhP" Kadek is one of the players in seattle. This is what he wrote on Playzone.cz : - this game is not going to replace CS 1.6, or CS:S, it is primary made for consoles, PC version is just kind of a "bonus" - at the moment, the game looks more like HL2DM - There is no recoil and there will never be. (because of the consoles) - the game runs on L4D2 engine - SourceTV is NOT a priority - they are working on match making system - new money system - no kevlar (this should be fixed in the future) - maps are simplyfied for XBOX style, less ways, most fights are close range - Hidden Path (Valve only finances the game) is trying to make all weapons balanced. Valve is going to continue updating CS:S, and tomorrow they will also talk with the players about the future of CS:S..." Original Text in some language I don't speak. That's it guys, there's nothing to see here anymore, move along. It's just gonna be a console game.

Not wanting to unite the two existing communities with the new game = Fail Trying new things out to help further the game play = Win (if done correctly) Doesn't play exactly like source = Win Doesn't play exactly like 1.6 = Win ... I am hoping this can become a great game like I know it will have the potential to. I also hope it is A LOT better than source was when it first released (anyone who says source was good out of the box is delusional). I pray it can become the next good team FPS on the PC since the scene REALLY needs a new one.

In fact, I would love Valve forever if they allowed PC players to play against console players online. Then all the console FPS noobs would be enlightened to how much better it is to play an FPS on a PC.
