I was actually talking about rifle rounds in my example. Anyways old discussion already. What comes to the negev now, it's kind of a pointless gun now (even more than before) so i'd guess that this "experiment" failed pretty bad.
Right and thats fine, but there was only one person here crying bloody murder over it.

I would hardly call it a focusing. And you dont know they arent considering other things. Honestly sometimes the instagrat generation really does get me.

And yeah that was pretty strong reaction to something that has had minimal if any impact. Someone had an idea they tried it.
This entire player complaint of "if they have time to do this, why dont they do this" indicates to me that people making these comments have little to no understanding of any sort of development in most professional environments let alone games devs

Allright to your first point. Yee sure i don't know if they arent considering other stuff. However if they are, they atleast aren't showing it. Or if they are it's something stupid like "force buys should win 40% of the time ideally" (true story btw).
Out of curiousity, how old are you? Complaining about younger generations is a bit of a funny thing considering it happens with every one apparently :D
Then second thing, yea it was a first impression after just seeing the laser gun and the fact it costed 2000$. Bit of an overreaction i'll admit, but in my later posts i feel like i atleast somewhat explained why i felt like it was a pointless change and i'd rather see something that has impact.

Lets make my age a bit of a riddle
+ Show Spoiler +I played at ESWC 2007 halfway through my teens representing Pakistan, guestimate that. Hint: ESWC had a minimum age requirement
Nothing is pointless, finding out something does or does not work also has a point. Especially when you can do it relatively painlessly. The bottom line is that there is nothing wrong with putting a bit of imagination into things and seeing what the community can do with it. Very rarely do things actually succeed doesnt mean you stop trying them.
And my god Im sure Valve is just sitting there worried sick about "showing" people what they are doing. The second thing you dont do when you are considering impactful changes is play your cards before you know you can win. The first thing is quitely figuring out what you is actually required if anything. That also takes time.
Actual problems need actual solving, spending their time with blog posts or announcements acknowledging that they are working on stuff that the community at large may think are important, doesnt really help them because it sets unreasonable expectations.
Finally its their game and while the community does and should drive innovation within the game and feedback should be taken seriously, ultimately the core vision is theirs so you have to let them do what they are doing unless it something monstrously horrific and have a bit of faith.

Regarding that, i guess my pov is something of a "don't switch it if it works" kind of a thing regarding stuff like this negev change for example. What comes to it being their game, that is true and i can't change that really. I'd just rather not have the same thing happen to cs what Lotv did to SC2, because having another game i enjoy going to shit (for me) isn't really something i'd be looking for :D

I actually like the negev changes. It makes it even better for trolling because it is so easy to play against.

cs_summit shows why double elimination bracket with BO3 are the best! Great tournament so far.

another reason why NA wont ever be good example #1245. absolutely disheartening and quite frankly disgusting to see such childish behavior from everyone involved including management

I've listened to the whole thing. And even though every story has two sides, I guess I won't be rooting to Liquid anymore. And Elige, what the fuck...
