Key points: -Only 2/3 of the beta content is actually going to be today. -~3 weeks until anti-desync mode gets in (up from the prior 1 week estimate) -Unless you're an alpha tester or streamer, you will not receive an invite until the countdown hits 0 (this makes me think the clock is the only way for public members to get in, so there's pretty much a 0% chance). -Cutthroat and Exiles Everywhere possibly going to be run in the interim. -You can Vaal Orb jewels. There's probably more relevant things I missed. | ||

Could be that you can corrupt jewels for increased radius, could be that they are not sure yet about the final placement of jewels slots. At least now there is a possiblity that we'll see this in 2.0, and I don't know what to think about that... Am I the only one, who is REALLY REALLY HYPED! Nope, I'm super pumped about it too ^^ The meta has pretty much been reset, which means there is a lot of theorycrafting to be had | ||

Don't be mad if you don't get a beta key in the first week, or get ready to be disappointed. 1 beta key invite every 5 minutes makes 288 beta keys on the first day, lolol. I wouldn't be surprised if over 200.000 accounts are registered for the beta, so that's a really small chance, unless you are RNG jesus. | ||

Instead, they've been extremely careful not to address the subject in all their announcements and posts on reddit/the forums. The original Awakening FAQ even specifically says that they won't do infrequent waves. Why would they do that if they're actually doing an initial wave? The truth is that the content isn't done. The desync fixes aren't done. Even the guaranteed invites get in as soon as GGG can get them in, not when the countdown hits zero. I don't think they're ready for a large wave. Pretty much nothing happens when the countdown hits zero, which is a damn shame, but I guess 1 in 50-100,000 is better than nothing. Course, if I'm wrong, I'll be pleasantly surprised. + Show Spoiler + make me wrong GGG please I'm begging you | ||

Actually, I'd be okay with an option on Standard if you paid a certain number of exalts/chaos to get beta access (some item). Would knock out a little bit of the stupid amount of currency, and long time players would get to play if they really wanted. | ||

specifically, the best combo that I can think of with it is voll's protector. Because the -max mana mod won't apply to your "mana" aka ES and with ghost reaver you can easily leech ES aka mana, you may be able to save a link (assuming you have some amount of leech somewhere). Alternate to ghost reaver you could use zealot's oath. Either way, it allows you to reserve 100% of mana while not being forced into using a blood magic support gem. Of course, you'd likely need either quite high regen + ES (assuming you are a mana intensive build) for ZO or else a very reliable way to sustain hp if u go Ghost Reaver (and maybe some leech speed too, considering the potential leech speed "changes" aka nerfs). Still, buying yourself a free link in a "fakener" or CoC Cyclone Discharge build is very powerful (bypassing the blood magic gem), and something that required far more investment with old EB. pursuant to that you could likely do a very strong ele aura crit volls bow build using ghost reaver as mana and LGoH for hp sustain. Or volls CoC cold snap. Of note, in a 100% mana reservation setup like this, you can use blood magic on your curse/mobility skills to keep ur ES regenerating while still saving urself the link in ur main skill. Seems pretty cool. Then again, expect the global balance updates to shit on this at some point  | ||

After a minute or so of sceptism and asking if it's not a fake PM, it really looks legit. Then he goes "OMG ..." - silence - "its from 2013"..... He never checked his PMs ... for two years ... | ||
