You actually reach a point where you don't even need to use puncture because tornado shot shotguns ^_^ The single target damage on it isn't bad; aim slightly behind your intended target and your GMP isn't even a disadvantage. With king of the hill, nothing reaches you and you don't even have to kite. It is fun to run away from bosses and watch them bleed to death though. Especially useful on say Precinct. However, you probably don't want to use it anymore due to the nerf. Burning Arrow might be a good substitute, but I would suggest learning how to abuse the shotgun instead. | ||

Your main skills will be LMP FP, LMP ice spear and cold snap. With ideal items you'll be doing double curse on hit. As far as just getting started it would help to know what gear you already have available/how much you're willing to invest in your character. Some gear you're probably going to want to get started: the new reverb wand, tabula, asenath gloves (if you want to invest more you can get ones corrupted with elemental weakness on hit and a +1 curse corrrupted amulet), crest of perandus, and stone of lazhwar are all probably reasonable starting gear, you'll also need a couple level 2 Empowers. Currently flicker strike/dual strike, tornado shot, and cold casters are the three most popular builds (9 out of the top 10 on ladder atm), with trappers, raging spirit summoners, 2Hs, facebreakers, and EE casters also being fairly good. There's not really any PvP content being produced at the moment that I'm aware of, because a lot of people are trying to keep the exact details of their build top secret. I honestly don't really care though, if you want to know anything about my build just ask me. (dual ungil with ele crit + high block) | ||

I've been playing my standard character once every couple days to get my masters the last little stretch to level eight and using puncture trap I have noticed little to no difference since the patch. My build also uses crit and I haven't noticed much of a difference on that end either. It feels like the same character with the same effectiveness and clear speed (though the updated tree let me grab a few extra nodes in the Duelist area and I have ~300 more life than I did). | ||

I tried one last night, and I must say the beyond map mod is ridiculously good, I wonder how nice mapping must have been. Free loot pinatas every pack, capable of dropping map upgrades. SOOOOO GOOD. | ||

Unless you rolled pack size or the map was full of high density mobs like sea witches there weren't that many loot pinatas. | ||
