So do we know what an ideal %life incresed is ideal to get to a normal amount of HP now? I made a VS sword/board build, with about 120% increased life, its just feels so low, not sure if its viable for a HC league.

My tentative BM flame totem guy has 180~ (220 with Belly). So ya 120 seems really low.
I think around close to 200 w/o belly for hc is decent I think.

Questions:

1. Is it worth picking up Acrobatics in the first 2 builds or would it make EB useless?
2. Does the second build have enough mana?
3. Is IR enough to deal with reflect or should I always go for the Ondars route?

Would be great if someone could help out, I am very open to other criticism on the builds as well (not very good at it)

I believe it does, it should increase the inital hit damage, as well as the burning ground damage. But hopefully someone smarter can confirm.

Im so exited for tomorrow! Im so pissed im working all fucking night tho. Hoping Viper Strike is actually good now, dont feel like wasting my 1st character on the league to find out its garb.

yes it does. its recommended you prioritise taking those and fire dmg nodes (over spell dmg or trap dmg nodes/mods) as elemental/fire will boost the initial damage, the burn prolif AND the burning ground effect.

best weapon for firetrap would be doryani or if u want 2h, searing touch.

sauce: i played lvl90 searing touch firetrap char for ambush.

I believe its like 150-180% gives the same life as 200-230% used to so aiming for at least 150% should be good.

God I cant decide if I should go DualCritClaw or EleST.

EleST on paper seems to be so OP with all the ele dmg nodes in the tree now. Even with nerfed auras.

First of, planning a 116 points build isn't a good idea. You should try to cut around 15 points to check whether the build will already function by then. Something like this seems to be more reasonable

Your block version is quite bad, and I wouldn't say 16% block is alot. Even if you use Perandus, it's only 56% block, which is pretty meh. Block has increasing return, as in each additional block provide more %ehp than the previous. So for block, ppl usually go all in for max/near max block, or not at all. Imo you shouldn't make the 2nd build, as it's too stretch. The best I can come up with is this (below), which would put it a 68% phy block using Perandus, while having pitiful life value and at lvl 92. I would not recommend it, it just takes too many points for sufficient block, crit, life, dps

First build is solid. I would advice taking the points from the block cluster to the crit multi cluster. And no it's not worth taking Acro with EB, unless you have so good gears that which allow running AA & sustain power siphon even with Acro. Then I dont see why not. For the 3rd question, either is fine. With AA reflect shouldn't be an issue, unless mirror wand.

For the 3rd question, either is fine. With AA reflect shouldn't be an issue, unless mirror wand.

The witch tree is my favorite as well and I moved the block nodes to the ranger start to get some more life, was even thinking about starting as ranger, but I don't know how essential the mana nodes at the witch start are

Nobody really knows what the mana requirements will be post 1.2 especially since gmp/lmp and chain all got mana multiplier reductions as well iirc but more mana can never hurt (run arctic armor or w/e right)

I do feel like ggg fucked up with curses though since you really can't buff them much from the tree, not enough to offset a broad nerf including double-nerf to the resistance ones etc.

Will try a dual totem IS witch with EB in the new HC league. Iirc i can geneerate power charges even if i dont do gmg with my main skill.

Has anyone a good idea for a surviving concept? I guess i will stack armor and use a shield and hope for the best.

To be fair a lot of the time the question wasn't "Is there something besides another Curse that would give me more damage?" but "Do I have another party member who deals with curses already?"

Enfeeble/Temp chains defensively and Ele Weakness+Resist Curse offensively were pretty much no-brainers in any situation.

Sure but all this does is even more heavily decentivize solo play in favour of parties where one person has all the curse effect passives and can cast at least 3 curses on baddies.

I mean everybody running a curse doesn't seem wrong any more than everybody running a mobility skill etc. Nothing about this skill puts curses in a more reasonable position IMO, especially considering how the "resistances rework" is worded where by the time you get to end-game it doesn't sound like the "every mob is 50+% overcapped" current situation is going to change much either. I ran a 20/20 ele weakness on my ele buzzsaw char (that i came up with independently before it was FotM tyvm) and while it was definitely worth it, it also didn't even take many mobs off of overcap on 1 or 2 resistances.

Plus you can't even build a character around curses with the proliferation of curse-immunity effects (mobs and map mods). I mean you can but it's really punished I guess I should say.

Although I suppose the idea of pushing players towards utility curses aka the "3 marks" now isn't all that bad, as it more fits what a solo curse should maybe be on a char that isn't curse-centric.
