Playing with fire trap until you get EK is utter torture for him, too, even with the double AoE swords, which make EK unusable. Claw needed to be in the 2nd chest and not the first so you could run wand+EK claw on shadow imo.

Descent Champions hype!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very excited.... :D :D :D
|
I will Flameblast my way right to the top.

Fucking kept getting an error trying to get to the brute, it took about 3 mins before i could get in. So after being behind, i then died to desync in a room with those bears + vaal constructs, was not a good race for me.
|
got 2nd scion in EL
Zoroxo too good :D
|
Just got 187th in the 1hr endless ledge. Died in the 1st 5 mins, was so pisssed. Managed to come back a little and get lvl 18, happy enough, still practicing every race i can, lots of fun.

Omg trying to kill The Brute in Descent with Spec Throw is so frustrating, he killed me while he had 1% HP left, and i was doing quite well. Guess i wont be doing Scion anymore in this race, flameblast just too easy to kill bosses, guess ill go back to that.

Can't you side step him like you can Brutus?
I personally can't fathom how people reach 25/26 in D:C now. Even though I know it's mostly due to Flameblast, Goratha managed 25 with Marauder. At the end of last season I kinda reliably got to top 20 each time in D:C. Now I was #89 with a decent run in general, hitting lvl 20 (still #5 mara because nobody plays it now, lol). I think 22 is doable but 25 is not.

Damn it I forgot to set my alarm and missed this Descent Champions race
|
^^ Yeah ive done that too lol. There are the 3 12 min races coming up in 20 mins haha, imma do those just for the practice/funsies. Also, getting a bit bored on my lvl 84 RF character on invasion, so imma attempt a CoC bow build, see how far i can get before i rippps.

To maintain 5 frenzy charges with the swords, you need to gain one frenzy charge every ten seconds. When dual wielding you have a 54.8% chance to gain a frenzy charge on kill. (There’s a 10.9% chance to gain two charges on kill, but that doesn’t really matter, because you just need to sustain the charges once they are up.) Let’s just round down here for ease of calculation sake and say it’s 50% even to gain a charge on kill. That just requires you to on average kill two mobs every ten seconds (On average, not guaranteed.), and with Flameblast you will usually be clearing the entire room anyway, often instantly giving you all five charges if they did somehow run out.
When you are able to keep the charges up, here is what you gain: +40% Movement Speed +25% Cast Speed This is in addition to what the swords already give you: +40% AoE radius. +40% AoE Damage +15% Block Chance (For dual wielding.)
Now, for comparison this is what picking 2x of the unique Wands will give you: +60% Damage +24% Cast Speed. +15% Block Chance.
That means adding these swords to the race for flameblasters, means that you trade 20% damage (which quickly scales off after you start getting a few passives.) for 40% movement speed, and 40% AoE radius. This has resulted in the newer 40 minute D:Champ to be 38% more efficient than before, with top racers hitting level 26 in under 40 minutes, compared to level 24 before. (1.8M to 2.5M) Flameblasters are almost hitting the same levels as the previous 1H DChamps race in 20 minutes less time, than before.
Made a big post explaining how absurd the frenzy swords are: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/944707
Edit: Just got 3x 1st place Witch in the bursts. :D 6th overall, 17th, and 6th. The 2nd race I beat 2nd witch by 29 xp.

Just got 93rd overall in 12 min burst! :D Ohhh yea..... 7th witch overall....Improving with practice (obviously). Was playing witch freezing pulse. I basically skipped everything till lower submerged. You got any tips for a fellow witcher Varanice? You always seem to beast these races!

-Pick up weapon, socket gem, skip to hillock and kill him, after you kill him look for blue/rare boots, rare wand, or tp and desocket gem while walking to town. When you enter town log out to character screen as fast as you can and spam enter, then talk to Tarkleigh, socket FP gem, and check for MS boots.
-Skip Coast and Mud Flats. Some people like to hit level 2 in these zones, but FP is really really bad, so I prefer to kill squids with FP to level because it's a little more reasonable.
-In Lower Submerged make sure you hit level 2, it isn't bad to hit level 3 either if you have good packsize or blue mobs. If you find the wp leave to go take Storm Call and check for MS boots if you didnt get them earlier. If you don't find the wp dont worry about it. From here and on is when the RNG really starts to kick in, starting with going the right way to Upper and not finding corrupted zones.
-In Upper you must be level 3 before you leave for ledge, preferably as close to or at level 4 if possible. Once you hit level 4 (In upper sub or ledge use a tp to take storm call if you dropped a tp.) -At Ledge is when the improv starts to come in. If you don't have storm call in your inventory (or have a tp so you can get it once you hit level.) You should aggressively skip all but very large packs until you get to the wp. Otherwise proceed normally and skip all packs that are 4 or less mobs. Once you get to the end of Ledge you have an important decision to make and this is where it's important to have a timer. If you have 3m 30sec left or more you should go to prison, if you have 2m 30 sec or less left you should reset ledge (Reset from the back 50% so you can visit the kuduku pack as much as possible.). If you're finishing ledge somewhere around 9 minutes into the race i'm not 100% sure what is more optimal. At this point it's just playing efficiently with how you kill mobs and how you "read" the zones. (Understanding the climb/lower prison/upper prison layouts.)
-I dont pick up much stuff if any at all, it's not uncommon for me to finish a race with literally just a wand equipped. I also skip coral because I log in town, and I dont click any waypoints. If you dont feel comfortable doing these things, you don't have to. I just do it because it saves like 10~ seconds.
Hopefully that helped some.

Oh wow Subscribe Thread carry over to LD too. <3 R1ch
Btw for Ambush players in our guild, you might have notice that gstash 6 is currently used as a common map storage for 66-71. It's there so that new players/ players who don't have a solid map pool have a starting point in mapping, which might help them to build up a map pool themselves.
It is not for selling/vendor 3 : 1 to 72. It's for run. The tab was cleared 80% over 1 day ( yday), which I highly doubt is for running only. No one in our guild in Ambush at that lvl can clear so many map so fast, especially since I constantly fill it up too.
I put all my 66-71 drop there ever since we got the spare stash space, and I've noticed that some others do the same too, which is great . If anyone need 72 map to lvl/have a starting base, just pm officer 0verSky to get them free ^^. I will not put in 72 in there now, since they may get vendor to 73 and sell =/
Pls be mindful, and have fun mapping .

Just to make sure, officers still can't rename stash tabs right?
I took the liberty of renaming that tab to "Maps - don't sell" =P

All great tips, damn. I been playing as ST Scion and feel its kind of weak, maybe im alone on that one tho, feels really dependant on getting a 2-Handed axe or something to drop, and hopefully get a transmute/alch. After Hillock i always talked to Tarkleigh to see more MS boots, why is it you say to log out after getting into town exactly? Im sure im missing something obvious here, regardless, excellent tips, thanks very much. And im sure MarCson wakes up he will thank you as well lol, we both pulled an all nighter lvling new toons for the hell of it, so we be tired. GL all.

If you play Scion and don't get a 2 hander off of hillock then it is recommended to reach lvl 2 in coast (ball as many enemies as possible, you don't really want to kill packs smaller than 10), use mud flats waypoint and buy a 2 hander from tarkleigh. For loggin out and in after hillock: It's only worth it with a SSD imho. If you do this, you trade the way from the entrance to the shops for a loading screen. It's useful if you only load 1-2 seconds but if you load 5-10 it's a waste of time.
