Would like to try Shockwave Totems again but Ambush would be a better place for that. That thing does insane damage. I think they nerfed the lightning ball of the devourer but Judgement Apparatus and I think it curses ele weakness is ez rip D:

I think they were saying that boss has "farshot" so the farther away you are the more it smashes you for. Nearly died to it once amongst other bosses. Rip

I'm pretty much done with Invasion. Made it into the top 50, but simply same old game just avoiding getting one shot. The vast majority of the top 50 are utilizing zoom hacks now just to avoid getting one shotted by Judgment or Metal Vaal Smith.

Yeah, I dont think I would ever try and compete for the top of a long term ladder again. When I stayed in the top 200~ of Anarchy for the first few weeks it was quite disgusting how many people hacked and were okay with everyone else and them hacking too. Im not sure what was more surprising, how rampant it was, or how okay everyone seemed to be with it. The first couple days will always be the most enjoyable and then the competition factor really drops off for me, and then its just all about hanging with some friends.

It's not that. It's that everyone has to hack because the mob aggro range is way too high for shit that does idiotic amounts of damage. Sure you could play without a zoom/map hack, but you'd be at a severe disadvantage, and by severe disadvantage, I mean it's almost guaranteed that you'd die if you were to encounter Metal Vaal Smith.

My lightning res was at 160+ though so if I was cursed that was irrelevant. Farshot makes sense since the last zap or two gibbed me down from 3k+ just when I reached a door and got out of the hallway. It was just foolish to try to run away from it. SotV is awesome though, Ambush has been getting praise and I really enjoyed Invasion. I'll be rerolling once I decide if I want to do the same build or something else.

From my experience the EK is chaos and the flicker is physical. Tho the flicker from her can hurt lots too. My armor must been around 30% at that point (no deter, our mf'er had deter runnign but waiting outside). Chaosres was around -40%. On a Lv70+ map i would always skip the blackspider. The multistrike-flickerstrike kills you even if you logout during it. Hits get tru. So she is imo on of the scariest inv bosses.

seriously ggg dont give too much thought about invasion bosses, it just a testbed for them and will nerf them heavily at the end of four months. the fact that certain bosses can offscreen so easily without u noticing kinda indicates how horrible the cam angle is, its so restricted and claustrophobic, basically they just want it to be zoomed in as much as possible so that people can "admire" their/each other's mtx and particles and shit, but not so much that its unplayable. if they give the option to zoom out further the mtx would not be as obvious. it wouldn't even hurt to boost zoom out limit by 10% and that would feel a lot better than the current view. but no, mtx.

Lol, you don't have to hack. All you need is logout macros and good map rng. And there's imo worse bosses than the Metal Vaal Smith, he's tough for sure, but honestly I'm much more scared of the devour, or any of the poison leapers. Sitting at 4,9k hp at lvl86 and almost insta died vs the chaos degen leaper in a 71 map. If I didn't run with a CI guy at the time I'd just instalog and abandon the map

I didn't even know hacks existed in Path of Exile. What do they do?

Probably the most used (only?) ones would be maphack and zoom hack.

A lot of top racers use this. :/ -Logout hack that logs the character out once they drop under X amount of health. -Potion hack that uses a specific potion under X circumstance. -Zoom hack, Im pretty sure I even saw someone post on reddit about a video on youtube of someone using this. Basically you can zoom the game out as far as you want. -Multiple keys/presses hotkeyed to a single macro, probably the most abusive of these that I heard of was binding 3 instant flasks to instantly use all at once from a single key press. (This is considered a hack by GGG.)
Thats all that I can remember off of the top of my head. And theres botting too, but thats a whole different level of cheating.

GGG considers anything doing more than 1 action at a time an abuse.
So amusingly enough AHK scripts that logout or /oos are fine but scripts that turn off an aura and use divination distillate at the same time to guarantee the flask effect for a cull are technically bannable/forbidden (though I'm certain ggg doesn't go after those particular people).

Im not sure, but I think they consider "typing in chat" as one action. So have a paragraph of text pasted from a macro key would be okay. (As long as it isnt spamming it repeatedly obviously.)

I think that once instance of chat entry bound to a key is fine, multiple instances from one keypress isn't.
Hence trade macros like the one that killed somebody (greatone? not sure) are technically forbidden.

And yeah, that was quite funny.

I wanna play some fun melee Build that scales well with Items ( sc ). Either some tanky life based 1h Shield combo that still deals good dps or something insane dps ( maybe crit based ) dual wielding. Recommendations plz?

Try a Sword/Board Ranger build Pohx is doing. Seems to fit exactly what you want to do. http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/829192/page/1/#p7188520

If Vaal Smith appears in a map and summons a totem, you're dead 100% period.

It's interesting how the softcore 4 month leagues just have features that give free mobs to kill for easy xp (ostensibly made more difficult by... something) , dunno if that's an intentional design thing or not.
Cuz seriously for Ambush I just sit on top of the chest, chug a granite, click and then press Vaal skill of choice.
