The nerf is pretty hilarious. Also because the community usually cries about nerfs and no buffs. Now they add an insane buff and people are immediately calling to nerf it before the league even started? lol Apparently PoB has been updated with the 3.21 tree. Let the fun begin! | ||

I think the nerf is good. Even on left click I wouldn't have liked it being in the game and absolutely every build taking it. | ||

Prismatic burst actually looks pretty good. Momentum looks really cool. I like the idea at least, we need to see how it plays out but the numbers on it are really high. Manaforged arrows looks cool as well but that's something to try later on. | ||

I´d be surprised if you couldnt just play bane / ed or bane/blight till you get a pair of vixens Anyhow, my plans for league start are a bit unclear, mostly because my father in law decided to come back from his vacation super sick, not tell anyone, dont get tested and then proceed to cough in our faces for some time until we left. So yeah. My 3 year no corona streak is officially broken and i kinda feel REALLY shitty. And angry. league start maybe a few days later for me. Might just pull up a totem build and go with it then when i feel better, cant think right now. | ||

The skill was not a meme before. It had slightly worse dps than Fireball for ignite and better dps than say Armageddon Brand. I played a Firestorm build 3 leagues ago and it was a fairly safe playstyle and good clear with ignite prolif, but also "just" around 1m dps which isn't alot anymore nowadays. | ||

I spent a bunch of time trying to find another DoT build that works with PF and wasn't really satisfied with any of them. Ruetoo has a poison Exsanguinate / Stormburst build but it runs 2x Obliteration and I'd rather play a build that more easily uses Crucible trees. Decided to say fck it and going Boneshatter Slayer. I actually never played this skill and everyone raves about how its a fast mapper so here I go. Pathfinder for a second build if I play long enough | ||

That's fair, I remember you playing that. I think that was the league when they buffed ignite, wasn't it? If you had 1 mil ignite dps, that's already 10 mil on vaal firestorm because it has roughly 10 times the base damage. And that's ignoring the burning ground. I settled on Ice Shot as a league starter now. Hope it goes well after the disaster of last league. Kalandra league start wasn't great, either, tbh. I've never built a hit based bow char except for a single end-of-league meme (LA CI Berserker :D). Not sure that bodes too well for me.^^ I have a Rage Vortex build ready as backup which should function well just in case Ice Shot turns out to be garbage (aka I can't kill map bosses). Have you considered putting it on ballista support? I mean, your other issues with it will still persist but that would at least resolve one of them? | ||

Yeah, I've since seen Palsteron's TR ballista build. I think that's the best variation, as long as Wilma's helmet isn't too expensive. Zizaran's build needing to path to EB feels a bit painful imo - still strong but more issues for the player to deal with Still I'm set on this Boneshatter stuff, I think it'll be fun to very easily use crucible trees. Easy to swap weapons as an Attack Build, compared to DoT bow you're pretty stuck on Quill Rain -> +3 6L Bow. With attack build, I can have 6L in my chest and swap weapons without having to worry about links | ||

And as you said, in this case it's simply a gem swap, though I suppose LA needs a few more arrows that Ice Shot for clear since the aoe is smaller? And I'm going with Raider. It's my go to comfy pick on that side of the tree for league start because it brings everything for a smooth start without having to invest into any gear. I haven't seen those builds, but if they have videos for it they are probably very solid. Boneshatter sounds like a fun choice, too, and as you have said, it's probably easier to swap weapons compared to toxic rain. Although I suppose, you could scout bases for your first +3 bow while still on quill rain. Once you have crafted a +3 bow, you then scout for an even better crucible base to upgrade again. | ||

I think so yes. Anyway, is the ignite damage really going to be 10* as high? As far as I read the gem, it doesn't carry the massive ignite multiplier. It's 10 times the base damage, but without the 325% multiplier, so it's more like 3-4 times the dmg, isn''t it? | ||

It's probably more than 10 times if you build it correctly since it has it has 10 times the base damage + 760 % damage effectiveness compared to 325 % ignite multiplier + 80 % damage effectiveness of the basic gem. | ||

Woah forgot that, that's true. Holy shit, that's gonna be nice. I just checked my build again (it was in 3.16). You can have 2 milllion dps with medium, fairly achieveable gear, and up to 5 million with trade league investment (not min maxed, but pretty expensive). And that wasn't the most offensive build as it took block and had decent defences. Multiplying that by 10 sounds legit.  | ||

Likewise missing league start; traveling in ten hours or so for a family health emergency. Will see how everyone's league starts go and what undocumented changes/rarity shifts have happened / what the new div cards are. Have been tossing up between a CF BL Sire of Shards Ascendant (to try and farm a Hidden Blade & Mjolnir) or an Exsanguinate Chieftain (to try and either farm up Reap gear or an Astral Projector for Scorch Shockwave Totems); the Crucible T5 "all Reap/Exsanguinate damage including the DoT is fire" is kind've making me lean towards the latter - would be fun to get to properly run Cruelty on something. | ||
