The Impale notable is insane with the new gloves. It means one hit will put 5 impale stacks on target and mobs around. When main target dies, it explodes, killing all other targets, which in turn explode...
You'll have to unspec it for Sirus and UElder (and likely Harvest boss), but it sounds insane for clear.
And yeah, cold DoT gets elusive for 3pts and likely benefit a lot from powerful crafts. Cold Brand might help their single target too. Chaos DoT also largely unaffected.
I didn't play chaos DoT last league, but it traditionally is considered to be an amazing bosser. Like (pre-nerf)brands you can just put your DoTs on then spend the rest of the time dodging. Your damage hits a ceiling, but there are a lot of crafting options to push the limit. however its main advantage is how cheap it is to get going though, king of starter builds (maybe summoner better I dunno). I'm sure there are better bossers but I'm confident I could clear A8 Sirus with like 2ex budget
On June 16 2020 10:09 ASoo wrote:*edit* Where are y'all seeing the new passives (the impale one and Imbalanced Guard)? I don't see them in the manifesto or the league info reddit sticky, but maybe I'm just blind.
Keystones We've added new keystones to the Marauder-Duelist section of the tree. These allow investment in slow Impale attacks, mitigating big hits with Armour, and making Warcries more accessible to non-Warcry-invested builds. Each of these allows you to improve some weakness that certain strength-based characters, especially two handed melee characters, could have.
Toxic Rain is incredible for bossing. I've played TR mines the past two leagues and could almost insta kill t16 guardians/elderslayers. Even end game bosses like Shaper/elder/sirus just completely melt. The build is also extremely fun
With that being said some Chaos DoT skills aren't amazing for bossing. From what I heard from my friend that played Essence Drain last league, it was one of the fastest mappers he's ever had but the bossing is medium at best (still good enough to clear all bosses easily if you don't suck ofc).
Hmm how is TR mines defensively? I haven't played TR since delve and I'm trying to think up a good 2nd build after my Slam character ends up crappy and/or dead. I'm a bit hesitant to play mines in HC though because they usually are amazing damage until you got suddenly blown up (my experience with arc mines / GC mines) Do you have a POB link?
I haven't played TR mines, but mines in general tend to rely on blind, dodge, recovery, and killing enemies quickly as their defensive mechanics. Those all feel great until you suddenly get oneshot...

Having agnostic and wind dancer on tree gives you more defensive options as a miner.
It's surprisingly good defensively, although I would say it's only semi HC viable. Defensively you have extremely high evasion with max attack/spell dodge (I ran vaal grace as well with steelskin. Could run molten shell or something too). If you want to try HC a Kaom's is almost a must in my opinion. You can possibly push 7k+ hp with max dodge, high evasion, crazy resists, etc.
I know Darkee did a version in Metamorph which he got to 97 in SSF HC. There's probably a better build that utilizes cluster jewels now, but I can't find any off the top of my head. Also I think it's far better to go Trickster over Sabo if you care more about defense.
Here's my POB from Delirium. Unfortunately I removed my cluster jewels because I gave them to a friend when I quit, but the current POB is still decent. Personally don't think cluster jewels were any better for this build anyway.

There's probably a decent build with Frost Blades Tribal Fury/Ancestral Cry, but it's a meh starter and the single target is likely a problem. OoS Archmage might get nerfed and is annoying to play. There's always the spellslinger chaos stuff, or classic Bane, but they kinda suck at bossing. TR/CA. Lacerate Glad. Bow bleed? Minion stuff?
I simply want something that's good for clear, a league starter, will scale to deal with the new boss and new lab. How is that so hard to find?!
Maybe the following reddit thread helps you regarding a build.
Thanks, some good ideas in there. HoP and Cospris are two builds I've wanted to try for a while. HoP could work decently in trade, and some warcry might help its clear. Or I can OoS archmage into Cospris with only 40-50 respecs, maybe simply start mines. Then remember how good mines are and never reroll, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.
If you wanna do OOS into Cospris take a lot at tytykillers preparations. Thats exactly what hes planning to do.
Also, in case you dont need the zoomzoom on HC and can take it a tiny bit slower, I actually played HC Delirium this league until 90 (ye, really. I actually made it to 90 without dying. ME!) with some variation on this:
Super cheap to get going, and explosive trap feels pretty damn great when it comes to blowing up shit. Single target was also pretty decent. https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Espedingens/characters Theres only one Sabo in there, not too hard to find - It went pretty well despite having rather crap gear.
Can always switch to Bow with signal fire later for really stupid damage.
Hmm, the only thing for Volatile Dead is an AI buff? Or is that buff only for VD from totems? Guess it won't hurt to not roll a crit character this league considering crit multi got nerfed all over the place. So a DoT build like Vortex, Toxic Rain, Bane/ED, anything that works well enough with EO (like Volatile Dead, Cremation) or non-crit such as probably 2h melee and summoners of all kind should be a safe starter choice.
I want to give Whispering Ice another shot. Played it it Delirium for a short while but left the league early as I did not enjoy poe much at that time. Sensible thing would be starting cold dot (with the new cold brand possibly replacing cold snap?) or ed-contagion which I have never done before. But knowing myself I'll just try to play shock nova switching to ci at level 23 and gimping my league start by being stupid.
Wouldn't mind GGG rebalancing Death's Oath. Lovely item.
The Necromancer's Corpse Pact notable now has a maximum of 200% increased attack and cast speed from consuming corpses, as it was possible to get the value to self-scale to problematic numbers using Arcanist Brand.
Have a feeling that the biggest dps will evolve some kind of abuse of Arcanist Brand.

I love whispering ice and stacking INT (Played it before several times). But I don't play it anymore because if I use spell cascade for clearing (high INT increased effect duration too) my FPS become unbereable. I wish they reworked the graphic part of the skill and removed some particles.
I found tytykiller video leveling spellslinger with essense drain, contagion and soul rend (attacking with frenzy and curse on hit despair). It is amazing to release all that with one attack.
I still can't make up my mind about my league starter, lot of interesting options.
Did you try Vulkan? It does wonders for CPU-intensive stuff (like spamming storms).
I'm likely going Cold DoT now. Trying to fit in the new brand will keep it somewhat fresh. I have plans for Impale with the Harvest gloves, but there's no way they're not multi-ex unless they drop like candies.

Holy fuck
Fucking garbage manifesto
Curious if they nerf maligaros too then. If everything crit multi gets toned down, but you still got the static 300 from the gloves, these might become a lot more expensive
Edit: Also, split personality limited to two does cost whispering ice quite a bit i think (dex stacking builds probably too). Having "only" 2.5K int or whatever and two additional free jewel slots for other stuff probably isnt the end of the world tho.
