On the other hand, I kind of want to really focus on only 1-2 builds (also I'm short on time so there's that), so trade league is good to min max as much as possible. Kind of like synthesis league but hopefully not as tedious / expensive to get ideal rolls

Edit: they posted the neural network patch notes for people that get a kick out of that https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/fg0xxw/what_happens_when_you_let_an_algorithm_write_the/

Also the is rarity to cluster jewel with ILV, in time of interview the highest was ILV84. Not sure but think the rarity will have impact of chance to get in recipe. Also you can use currency on them, but only some part of the jewel is effected by it, not sure what is and not.

With the new mapping system, getting ilvl 84 ones should not be that difficult, either from drops or trading. I expect they them to be a bit expensive at first, but as more and more people reach high tier maps, the price will likely drop considerably. Finding the optimal way to craft is going to be interesting. I assume people will hold on to them until more testing is done. the discussion about the jewels on Baeclast is from around min 50 to 1h05 or so.

outside of that most builds probably only use ones with similar/better stuff to what they would normally get from the tree, but allows them to cut off the outer branches of their tree instead. Eg you travel really far for the lightning stuff north of the witch, but then you get a cluster with good ele/lightning damage stuff, so you can cut that and maybe get some more defense with another cluster you put into the dmg cluster with the points you save from making the cut. a lot of the minion notables look really strong, so i think (read: hope) they will nerf baseline minions fairly harshly and then you are at a point where minions are okayish, BUT if you get the good clusters you can make them insane again. so you know... you actually have to invest into stuff now to have op minions. the brand notables look really meh in comparison. big question now is how frequent they drop, how hard it is to get an actually good one to drop and how the prices will end up being. so i will build my starter(s) without planing around those things. edit: i think you can fossil craft those cluster jewels... so get your delver going early!

some notables gave me some nice ideas, but that also kinda depends on what gets nerfs/buffs. without nerfs/buffs i'd say: 1) try out stormbind mana hieropants for the memes 2) reroll into bane occultist 3) get some cool clusters to play weird shit if stormbind is as clunky as it looks (and has not enough wtf dmg to compensate) I might try another channelling skill. kinda like those. might not be the best in a somewhat zoomy league though. maybe RF with some of the notables. maybe blade blade if that stuff has good numbers. maybe some ultratanky melee shield guy with max block etc Maybe some staff crit thing? but yeah, tons of possibilities and hard to tell atm without patch notes.

Expansive Might Mace, Sceptre or Staff Attacks deal 20% increased Damage with Hits and Ailments While stationary, gain 10% increased Area of Effect every second, up to a maximum of 50% Natures grasp, and tectonic slam. Not sure if good. Edit. Think Expansive Might will be cheap

Like the 10% explode notable looks absolutely bonkers but I'm sure it will be unobtanium so I don't want to plan around it. The only builds that should be planning on multiple outside sockets early are ones that rely on stats not widely available on the tree (specifically certain DoT multipliers, maybe some other funny brand/totem type archetypes). The key for them isn't even notables it's the small passive bonuses I think. At least early in the league.

At least the league is over and I get to work dumb builds out of my system in Standard (e.g. DW 1H Crusader maces with heaps of reduced enemy stun threshold Ground Slam Slayer, heh). Need to try and sort out my filters a bit earlier before league start this time, and I've had fun with Poe Theorycraft's crafting sims (trying out fossil vs essence crafting vs chaos spam for pDPS weapons).

I don't think I've ever had the jewels to justify taking an outside socket in SSF.

Eagerly waiting for patch notes but I guess I'll start Venom Gyre pathfinder/assassin. Poisons are great, evasion is great (until the moment you get oneshot).
