Well that was just to test it out because I randomly found an Abyssus and remembered I was considering using one back during planning. And it wasn't even close. I'm sure a meaty phys reflect rare would do the trick in a real map.

I'm asking because i realised my witch is/was running around in cloth (because that's what casters wear, right? ..), it really wouldn't make sense not to wear heavy armor? I feel like i shoehorn myself into some stupid things based on perceptions from other games.

Early game it really doesn't matter, but late game you'll decide what "type" of armour you wear based on a few considerations. 1) are you focusing on any of Armour/Evasion/ES? Probably not as a life based SRS build, but some take Eldritch Battery to enable more auras and as such need decent ES on gear. I'm just going to assume you won't be able to reach a useful armour/evasion total (anything below 5K can be entirely disregarded) on an SRS build, nor would there be good reason to. 2) Socket colours. While your primary skill is I assume going to be SRS in a 5/6L staff, you will need to consider what other links you'll need (Auras, mobility, vaal skills, Cast When Damage Taken links, Curses, etc). CwDT links, especially, are notorious for needing at least 3 red links. That's VERY hard to roll on 170-int-required boots/gloves. (gear is more likely to chrome to the colour(s) associated with it's required attribute(s)). I often buy hybrid gear just to make it easier to roll the colours i'm looking for even if I also want one of the associated defenses (ar/ev/es). 3) ability to roll explicit mods. While all types of gear can roll the important explicit mods (life/resists), some affixes only really roll on certain bases. Most pieces of armour can't roll mana or int unless they have energy shield on them, for example. While these factors do increase the likelihood that your "caster witch" will run around in "cloth/robes/etc", there's certainly no requirement that you do nor is there an inherent advantage outside of the considerations I specified.

And yeah cast speed, but only as long as you aren't able to get the maximum amount. Also forgot increased duration which IS huge.

That went so far over my head, i don't even know where to begin asking, hehe. There's some things i don't understand anyway, for example "the need (or recommendation) of "The Baron", if the only thing in there is the stone elemental and decoy totem + generosity and hatred. The 20% minion life don't really matter as far as i can tell, and i'm not sure i'll reach more than 1000 strength to get the +strength bonus (to minions) either. 3) ability to roll explicit mods. While all types of gear can roll the important explicit mods (life/resists), some affixes only really roll on certain bases. Most pieces of armour can't roll mana or int unless they have energy shield on them, for example. Hm.. I don't think i'd need to roll mana anyway, because of blood magic later down the line, which makes strength (hitpoints?) and life in general important? While these factors do increase the likelihood that your "caster witch" will run around in "cloth/robes/etc", there's certainly no requirement that you do nor is there an inherent advantage outside of the considerations I specified. Guess i'll settle for plate, as i upgrade. This here btw is the build. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1931356 edit: You guys sure about added firedamage/elemental damage not scaling with SRS? As far as i understand, SRS does 100% physical damage +50% added as fire damage. I'm actually not entirely sure how that works in the first place.

Also it's not 50% of phys added as fire, its 50% of phys converted to fire. So it does 50/50 but scaling phys scales all of it because of how conversion works. Note that strength grants 2% melee phys dmg per 10 points, which is why the baron granting your strength to your SRS is so good (at 1000 strength thats 200% increased damage for your SRS). Also note that gear won't naturally roll strength on it unless it has some armour on it (requires some amount of strength) so late-game you'll probably be using a lot of "plate" as you term it.

Okay. Nevermind, i seem to have a problem with reading comprehension. For some reason i thought the damage only gets added once you reach 1000 str - but that's the lifeleech. Guess i need one. As soon as i have the needed amount of Cs (SRS feels really slow currently). Best way to farm chaos orbs, i assume, is mapping? edit: as someone who really isn't into poe.trade that much other to fill gaps?

Apparently using Wicker Man spectre is a perfect way to make your SRS build more usable. Wicker man have Righteous Fire aura and are really hard to kill. They work well as your "Clear shit" summon. SRS you can focus as "Kill bosses" summon. You don't even need Baron.

I mean i do level "summon spectre" just because i had the slot on the gear, but so far, my experience with the ones i did summon (act four or something, those ribbon things), was rather underwhelming.
