They're going to keep adding acts as their version of an "expansion" every year or whatever - that is what they have planned. | ||

Currently I got a lvl 44 marauder with two axes and using frenzy with blood magic support on ruthless act1 Then I got a lvl 45 shadow with a claw+shield also using blood magic support with double strike on ruthless act2 Then I got a lvl 42 shadow that is using cold spells and has CI that is also ruthless act 1. Then I got a lvl 30 witch that is focused on summoning, curses and auras. And I just started a dualist that uses two-handed axes because I traded for that awesome lvl 33 unique axe. And I want to play all of them at the same time lol. I don't have any currency to trade anymore as I was trying to get cool stuff for all of them :D | ||

I don't have any currency to trade anymore as I was trying to get cool stuff for all of them :D sounds like a brag lol, well I'll tell you this, you'd get bored faster playing the marauder( its a bit one dimensional) and the summon witch( you're almost never doing damage on your own). best bet is to play the duelist and get it to Lv 40. | ||

I was certain to get the marauder to endgame, but then I made the claw shadow and now the dualist. I know once I get the dualist to lvl 40+ I will be looking for next build lol. Actually this marauder is not boring because I told myself I wanted to recreate the Frenzy barbarian from D2. So I use Frenzy skill as main, and use leap slam as only AoE but mosty I use it to get to ranged mobs faster. I fight against all groups by using Frenzy. I got my attack speed so high that I kill them all fast. It would be easier if I didn't need to click again for each new enemy. Only problem with this build is that Frenzy costs a lot of base mana so with blood magic and faster attacks and life gain on hit it costs me about 45 life per hit :D I leech more then that but not while I am also being attacked by enemies. I even took 3 mana reduction passives to reduce this cost. | ||

They have a lot of changes and system overhauls planned for the game before it will go live. That said, with the two acts we have available to play, PoE will be a much better game than D3. It has the customization in character building and itemization we were all looking for, the dark atmosphere we came to love in D2, and a dev team that actually interacts with and listens to feedback from its playerbase. Not to mention its F2P. But while it will probably be fun to level up a bunch of characters in closed beta, I'm trying to not get burned out on the game while it is still only in two acts and largely unfinished. I'll level a character through merciless and then test out new features when they add them for the beta, but for the most part I'll hold off until the game is done and ready to go. They also plan on releasing a new act every year or so after release as a form of free "expansion" content. | ||

I can't speak for GGG's development process, but if it were me I would use the smaller community they have now, with the more intimate feedback setting to really nail out key design issues and achieve a workable balance. This seems to be in line with what they are doing. You don't need a million active players in order to figure out that you need more content or that itemization is where you want it to be. Open beta will see an even bigger spike, and hopefully all the bugs can get nailed out. With a much larger playerbase, they'll have a better set of statistics with which to further balance the game, but one would hope all the design flaws have been ironed out by then. You're right in that feedback won't receive these kinds of responses when the playerbase explodes, but that doesn't mean they can't still process it. | ||
