also, it takes 1 totem life node to get 10% totem life but 3 points(30 str) to get 9% totem life from that jewel. in some specific cases, when you already have Xstr around a jewel, you could use it temporary. if the totem dies you resummon it. Edit: you can buy blade vortex from the vendor after Merveil; it's op for leveling. | ||

other options are the usual stuff, firestorm + flame totem, bladefall totem. Bow leveling might be good with the new essences | ||

Spire of Stone mainly for stun immunity. Without it elemental bosses like Haast or Dom would take ages since they get stun lock without attacking anything. I usually just slot it in the socket between templar & mara start. | ||

 .i find the lack of aoe on BV not a problem early on since mobs don't really have a chance to kill you; i'd ran right through them. best way to play fireball is as soul gatherer and single target for vaal fireball(which could be the next vaal spark). | ||

It's not a question of safety, it's that bladefall and flamestorm's much superior AoE, in my opinion, means faster clear and faster exp. BV of course has the edge vs rares/uniques yeah I'd really want to make a vaal fire baller, but don't really want to make two templars in a league (I'm OCD). it was already strong last league, Zizaran did it with stacking Rolling Flame. With Fireball buff, maybe a 4L fireball will have enough single target for the build to be OK vs bosses ooo you could use that corrupted essence to give "Socketed gems deal 40% more ele damage". You'd have 6L vaal fireball for super fast clear, pseudo 5L fireball for soul gathering / boss clean up. | ||

Witch/Shadow np but Ranger takes SO long for damage nodes and the projection is so ass early on that it felt pretty bad. And Ranger can't even really have a levelling tree with something else either since you're going straight left and towards int areas anyway. The life % is whatever, but it fits nice in the templar start area because it gives a fair amount of it there anyways. | ||
