Any tips on what to level in my "sphere grid"? I don't plan on making this character ready for endgame, just a quick guide on leveling/learning the game/understanding the game when I do decide to make a real endgame character (assuming I like the game enough).
It does feel more D2 than D3 (which I loved both of).
More like D2.

Yeah, more like an even more complex D2. It's nothing like D3, if we have D2 to compare.

(probably still not though lol) Overwatch might end up killing most of my activity this league, not entirely sure yet. Might be even more casul than last round shit is too much fun. :3

anyone wanna burn their excess currency in PSC this next week helping me get challenges? I've only been free to do stuff for a little while since classes ended & my computer wasn't able to handle the last couple days of the flashback, so i'm at like 62 with an champion eq metagolem. i think 9 or 10 challenges done?

Will rogue exile boxes and bearers lag even more with the new background loading thing? I wished I loaded MORE during the loading screen and not less because of these random stutters.

i wish there was a 'consolidate currency' button on currency tabs that would pull currency from all your tabs to it. would be insanely satisfying to press it on standard.

Post about balance is out: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1665252 Fewer changes than expected. New skill tree stuff: https://github.com/EmmittJ/PoESkillTree/releases/tag/2.2.8 Arcane Vision moved, otherwise no changes to the large skill tree. Lots of changes to the ascendancy trees.
RIP Ascendant (Ascendant-Berserker now 1% life leech if you've killed recently). That pretty much deters me from using Ascendant for the ES builds I've been using her for. Ascendant-Deadeye also now has 30% pierce only.
Champion lost increased Fortify effect but still has perma-Fortify. Also lost the chance to stun taunted enemies. I'll still probably use him for lots of ranged builds.
Guardian has 25% reduced effect of curses on you (and curses removed every 5 seconds). With the right rings, you can get 75% reduced effect of curses on you and go all-out with Soul Mantle?
Heirophant Ritual of Awakening now 8% less totem damage per totem. Also, now has 50% reduced mana cost of skills PLUS 50% reduced mana cost of skills while on full ES. This looks like no mana cost for all skills if you simply go EB without MoM. Could be super useful for stuff like Blade vortex and other mana hungry skills?
Inquisitor consecrated ground effects changed. No more reduced mana cost of skills but 4% mana/ES regen.
Hmm. Definitely expect the number of Ascendants to drop off really hard. The few good choices she had got nerfed while the rest of her stuff is still garbage.

so it's theorycraft time
and I have to ask a question is it possible to use cast on crit discharge without vaal pact? if so, what is needed?
I ask because new juggernaut has node "if you would gain endurance charges, instead you gain up to your maximum number of endurance charges"...

Edit: Lack of sleep, read wrong and answered questions not asked.

How are you going to get your endurance charges though as cast on crit?
I'm thinking more along the lines of Scold's Bridle (to hit yourself when you cast), which triggers the 20% chance to gain endurance charges when hit, then use CwDT or self-cast discharge afterwards.
Yeah, and reading reddit there's a bunch of interesting changes that I haven't covered my earlier post just looking through the classes I've been using.
Berserkers now have unconditional life/mana leech, 1% each. More of interest to casters because attackers have the duelist cluster to get leech, but I wonder if the pathing tradeoff is worth it.
Chieftain has an interesting thing - 1% totem damage leeched back to the player. Wonder if it'll be enough for low life totems? Especially since spell totem got buffed.
Raider has phasing at max frenzy charges, and when phasing: elemental status immunity and 20% movement speed. Definitely going to do a oro's raider.

jugg already has 20% chance on being hit, but I would also be using a staff and taking smashing strikes
it seems to me that I could also be permanently immortal called...
|
Hmm, Smashing strikes gives you 10% chance to gain endurance charges on crit. Personally, I don't consider 20% chance of gaining charges on being hit to be reliable unless you're hitting yourself somehow. (Scold's bridle or heartbound loop?) CoC gem gives 69% chance to cast spell on crit. So approximately 1 time out of 7 when you would've triggered discharge, you might not have charges.
Comparing it to the baseline Coc-Discharge with Voll's Protector - even if you're assuming just a single enemy is around, that gives you 1 power charge every crit. The juggernaut version seems weaker.
At least from my initial take, you probably want Scold's to make charge generation much more reliable.
Hmm...You definitely have a point with immortal call though. Juggernaut would make maintaining IC much easier.

Massive Ascendancy class changes. And to my surprise almost no nerfs there. Only Ascendant will be a lot worse for almost anyone, since Berserker was an auto-pick there and they pretty much destroyed the leech of it. Also a small Champion nerf.
But damn... Elementalist, Slayer, Assassin (how insane is physical Blade Vortex going to be?) especially look tempting. Berserker also got a nice leech buff, and Juggernaut probably can perma Immortal Call without problems now. And Raider will have permanent Phasing + Status Ailment immunity. O.o

How do I import my builds from old tree to the new tree on basic PoeSkillTree planner?

That new +1 curse chest looks super insane btw... wow, I want that. Probably Shavronne's Wrappings tier rarity though. Which will be a lot harder to find next league, considering no "free" Perandus stuff and the drop rate nerf.
