Turns out not having any sort of defenses in the way of curses/defensive auras/ es,armor,ev stacking/cwdt/enduring cry is a terrible idea :D. Who would of thought O_O | ||

I play really slow but safe i never died before merciless, i m doing the masters quests and try to be resistance capped before dominus and malachai, i used 3 alchemist orbs probably a waste for 40-50 level items isnt it? | ||

You need to know the game if you want to be fast. Like, you can skip a lot of things if you are good. It also helps greatly to use skills that are strong from the get-go. Melee characters in general can take a bit longer to progress easily at some points, if you don't find proper gear. 2. You can use Transmutation Orbs and Augmentation Orbs whenever you want. Alteration Orbs I wouldn't really use, because it's too much of a gamble with usually little reward and they're worth something. Chromatic Orbs can sometimes be useful, but don't waste too many here either. Alchemy Orbs imo can be used a few times while leveling, especially on 4-linked items. Don't do this though if you like to buy items from others (I personally prefer just yolo alching though, I don't really bother with buying items until maps). Don't use the other orbs unless you know what you're doing. Like a really good item you can use jewellers & fusings on. 3. I personally don't bother doing master missions on normal (but on HC I would do them). Haku offers an easy way to upgrade most items cheaply, for example. | ||

All those small things add up. But then you just have to know that you can push past zones quickly, you dont need to kill everything in them. Generally, if you run through and just kill any large groups and then any blues or rares you find, you will progress perfectly fine and not be slowed by trying to clear every last mob. | ||

do 2 totems righteous fires stack? My math put theoretical top end (with a few exalts of gear and at least level 80) at over 100,000 dps per totem when conc effected. This is before resists and including vulnerability... but still that's pretty sick. also not factoring searing bond | ||

(the above tree is similar to a Searing Bond char that i played for a while (obviously minus the aoe nodes), on which I figured it works quite well with RF totem) | ||

Probably more sockets because they roll totem life (your best multiplier) AND damage. The build I saw was scion and didn't go into witch. VERY similar otherwise. Note that unless you have a 6link, purity of fire is pretty required so blood magic sucks. Plus your mana requirements are 0 on account of righteous fire not costing mana so you can reserve whatever you want (purity blasphemy arctic armor works, or purity blasphemy blasphemy since you can get 4% reduced reduction for 2 points etc). | ||

pps curse effect nodes OWN for this build (the ones by scion). the dual-curse node is decent but your gear requirements are so minimal that i'd be seriously tempted to do curse boots/ring instead. | ||

Two RF/SB from different players do as well nowadays. More notes, I'm 76 or so now:
The way I planned my progress:
As a final thought it might be that Laviangas beat out both Doryanis and a perfect Ele scepter just because AoE feels that amazing. The curse boots are no option in that case because fuck that movement speed. This is the tree I'm running with in the end most likely. The jewel socket at Templar needs to be taken early (that's where the unique totem life jewel goes), the Fire+AoE cluster vs dmg cluster on top is still up to debate but I think this is the smarter option. rip 5% AoE. =( I don't really like the pathing in the bottom left that I take but I didn't find anything smarter if you keep the jewel socket with strength and some efficient life in mind. Going bottom left for Ironwood over Witch would be a huge mistake imo. | ||
