agreed, just downloaded and watched the game a couple of hours ago, alaba gave much of a presence that game for bayern, compared to how useless arbeloa/contreao were for madrid.

everything this season will culminate in real vs barca i suspect
im really curious if the spanish state will ever stop sponsoring football (ie get the billions that the big clubs own in taxes), its kinda ridiculous how most of the big spanish clubs basically have been bankrupt for years yet are allowed to keep on spending like crazy
if that ever happens it will make premier league even more dominant i guess...

Funny thing is that the atmosphere in the Allianz Arena is considered to be pretty bad in Germany :D Would definately recommend a game in Dortmund or Schalke, crazy fans (plus Frankfurt, very good atmosphere but the team is bad.. although I have to admit that this might be biased because I'm a Frankfurt supporter ).

Really? I would've only given red to Marcelo in the end but I guess he missed that tackle. Otherwise it was really good from Webb: didn't take shit from anyone and didn't award freekicks lightly to either team. Quite mind-blowing Ribery didn't get a yellow in that game.

Few stats found interesting; Chelsea Wins 3 Barca Wins 3 Draws 4 In the 10 games played between each team in the Champions League Messi has failed to score in 6 games vs Chelsea Chelsea are unbeaten in their last five Champions League games against Barcelona, four of which have been draws. Barcelona last beat Chelsea in February 2006 when both sides met in the last 16 of the Champions League. The Catalans won 2-1 at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have never lost at Stamford Bridge in a Champions League semi-final (two wins, three draws). Chelsea have opened the scoring in each of their 10 Champions League games this season. Only Real Madrid can match the Blues’ record. (actually Real lost this record yesterday ) Chelsea are the team Lionel Messi has played the most against in the Champions League without scoring: six games, zero goal. (ima add this in again :D: :D:D:D:D:D So sets up for an excellent tie! COME ON CHELS!! For ilj.psa; Torres has scored 8times in 10games vs Barcelona in his career! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tMxp3REwEQLink to the goals if u like seeing the old Torres <3
really hope Chelsea can do it but I cant see it... then again they smashed Tottenham on weekend so hopefully they play as well to have even a fighting chance!

Marcelo and Ramos were straight reds. Stretched leg from behind is just ludicrous. The third red card was a second yellow for Xabi Alonso, but I could be wrong about that one because it could have been a dive from the Bayern player.

Funny thing, yesterdays referee was from England, today Dr. Felix Brych, a German from Munich is the referee..

I dont know whether to laugh or be disgusted. I just dont know anymore. Who said that? Is this the goal that real madrid scored? I saw Barca score a goal where someone shot under Messi's (offside) legs and it went in and the goal was given too. I was under the impression that as long as the ball does not touch the offside player and he makes no attempt to play the ball it's fine.
To be honest none of the goals were actually good looking goals, I guess that's what you expect when you have such top class keepers as in that game. I think RM will win at the Bernabeu 2-1 and then will score the winning goal in extra time.
I was under the impression that if an offside player influences play in any way (such as giving the impression that he's going to do something, causing defenders/keepers to move) then it's an offsides play. ^Correct, how was it offside though? Both Ronaldo and Ozil were onside when the ball was played in initially then Ronaldo passes the ball back to Ozil who finishes... Anyway hopefully Real Madrid get the job done because Bayern's defence is still not at the required levels. I was just saying as a general rule. And I'm agreeing with you , the goal in question was the Bayern goal, but the players weren't complaining, would't have made a difference IMO. Oh right yeah the Ribery shot, I really don't think that is offside. The shot takes a deflection off the player who was in a clear offside position. In slow-mo, you can easily see the ball change direction. Obviously it's very hard to see that sort of thing in real-time, but it was technically offside.

He will always blame everything outside of him and his players so that the media will portrait his as an asshole to relieve the pressure of the players. Everyone will focus on Morinho and leave Alonso and Ronaldo poor performance alone. Believe me he knows his team played poor, he saw that in the game and he made 2 defensive substitutions to keep the 1-1 score despite of the bad performance.

Bayern-Dusel like always. Real should have won. I hope Real crushes the "Lederhosen" in the next game.

Gustavo didn't touch the ball, it got deflected off a Real player, but he was in vision of the keeper and jumped away from the ball, which makes passive offside active.

I don't see any real correlation between him being an asshole and his players having less pressure. If I were a player I'd rather have a honest and straightforward coach without a doubt. So while this theory of yours could be true, I'm more inclined to think he just has a cognitive bias where everything bad is never his fault. Many other actions of his rather proves he is quit an egoistical and childish guy.

Ahh the slow motion footage I saw had an angle which made it seem like Gustavo got the final touch. Now I see it was off a Real player. My bad.

Looks like it was off Pepe's shin. You'd still have to question whether Gustav was 'active' in that play. He clearly obstructed Casilla's view. I can't blame the officials for missing/not giving it, but it's not so cut-and-dried. Oh, and I still think there was a handball leading up to that. It was accidental, but when a ricochet like that falls very kindly to a teammate and leads to a goal, you cannot just ignore it.

No it doesn't I swear, I watched it like 10 times on my HD it looked like it hit the player IN FRONT of the offside player and the offside player JUST managed to jump over the ball.
EDIT: seems you already accepted that.

He didnt miss it, Webb is just really lenient. Something along the lines of "well the games over now, why give the fellow a red card." Except he only tried to kick the shit out of his opponent because he lost his head. He'll just keep doing it as it is.
Ribery really shouldve gotten a yellow early on, wouldve put an end to that. Was a bit unsavoury. Busquets needs to start getting yellows for pulling that shit to. Although he does get genuinely fouled alot aswell so its a bit harder.

Tonights game is going to be awful. Chelsea will park the bus like every team does against Barca and Barca will struggle to score. I wish we had Bayern at least they have some dignity and aren't pussies like every other big team not called Barcelona.

He has said in the past that he is loud and brash precisely for that reason (but can we trust him on that? haha). And for whatever reason, his players seem to like this approach. Chelsea and Inter players that played under Mourinho seem to adore him.

I can't really blame them though. If they try and play straight up against Barca, they will be destroyed.
