Wigan played so much better than Arsenal almost all that game, moses and sammon were just trolling their defence. Hilarious result and great for the latics.

And they only got booked for it in the 92nd minute XD But they did more than just time waste though. Organized and very clever on the break.

lol, tasty tears
yea very salty,
I love Wigan, I love Martinez, he used to do analysis for Sky in liga some time ago before he started coaching. And they always provide a story late in the season. They do that escape artist thing better than anyone, its so fun to watch.. The man to man defending was ace, and Arsenal didnt pass quick enough or hit the needle enough, mostly because of Wigan. Alcaraz has been a bungling mistake all season and even he didnt fuck up.
I kinda hoped Arsenal would score though, Walcott still doesnt do enough for me, hes close to useless against teams that park the bus, just doesnt have a first touch.
Holy shit Ramsey just ain't doing it mang I am not sure I want to see Ramsey play again this season. Considering Arteta is out for the whole season (not 100% confirmed, but definitely out for Chelsea clash), guess I will. Overall, disappointing performance from us imo.

It makes it very hard for teams to break them down through the middle (which is what we all know Arsenal love to do) whilst also restricting movement out on the wings. It's not exactly the most attacking formation, but because they have so much pace out wide (both wing-backs, plus Moses seems to play like a trequartista more than a forward and so pops up everywhere) they're able to break incredibly quickly and catch teams by surprise.
I've missed this formation. I always used to like it when I was a kid
I havent seen them play much against teams outside the top 4 or 5. But that makes it harder to win games. Not having Nzogbia hurt that quite a bit aswell. Him withMoses wouldve converted some of those draws into wins I feel. With injuries and all hes been a bit of a dud at Villa.
They havent really lost that many games compared to the other stragglers.
I saw an interview with one of the wigan players eariler this week asking why they always go on a run late.. he said its because they normally get gutted at the start of the season and loose their top players so by the time they have rebuilt and got everything down its a bit late.. impressive win.. the time wasting was funny lol

Certainly, but Wigan always go into the season after losing their most productive player of the previous season. N'Zogbia, Baines, Valencia (and a few others including Heskey haha) all had good seasons at Wigan but left for bigger clubs in the Premier League. The team can definitely identify and produce quality players, but struggle to hold on to them.
Though one has to admit that Großkreutz seems to have learned his lesson (not from Jones, but from Klopp). No shit from him this time, guess he got told pretty badly after his various escapades.
Was pretty sad with Van Persie's actions in stoppage time last night. He started a petty fued out of frustration with the wigan captain, which the ref had to pull them apart. This isn't the first time RVP lost his temper either as he did it with Kruul the keeper from newcastle the other week. Then to top it off at the end of the game, the wigan captain offers his hand in appreciation for a good fierce game and RVP just waved him away and acted like a child, all the wigan captain wanted was to shake his hand and say good game. You have to be a good loser in this sport or you lose alot of respect fast. Think he needs to work on that.
Tch, thats ridiculous. Lets be fair here. Wigan did do alot of annoying time wasting shit, I dont see how they can complain that Arsenal werent upset. Its very difficult to hold it in when teams waste time as aggressively as they did. Once or twice they actually had to try and pry the ball from Wigan players hands and still couldnt get hold of it. Same with the Krul incident. Its all fair game, but its going to piss people of, I dont think Wigan are naive enough not to believe that.
I dont remember him refusing to shaking hands when they got hammered 8-2 by United. Was he being a bad loser then ? Was Drogba a bad loser when things were "a fucking disgrace" ? No, because things happened that deserved some ire.
Doing annoying things like that, instead of getting on with the game I dont see who wouldnt be irked. He doesnt need to work on anything. People are so uppity about this kind of shit. Hes pissed off and reasonably so , its a very human thing, same with the Krul incident really. I'd have been pretty annoyed if the keeper started staring down the ball 5 mins into the second half instead of taking goal kicks.
Reason i said it was because he did it more than once recently. What makes it worst was the fact the Kruul incident he was blatently incenting it as they just got the winning goal when it kicked off between those two. He doesn't seem to take it very well when it's being done to him. The barca game and the wigan game has a million differencies, and like i said it wasn't within space of 2/3 weeks doing the same thing it was a one off.
And yes many people get pissed off with these things, but the difference is, when me or you are getting pissed off with whatever work we are doing or anything esle, we are not being paid 100,000 a week or being looked at by 10000000s of people. Kids watch this game as you well know, and the whole fair play aspect of the game which has been bought into action is very strict, to see kids immitate not shaking peoples hand at the end of a game because there pissed off is very bad. And atleast in the Drogba incident he stilled shaked all Barca players hands even if he yelled at the Ref.
Thats all im getting at is it does not set a good example, and with the media and the FA England it does get noted and mentioned alot. Like when the FA and Media through the Bridge Terry handshake saga out the window, same with Evra Suarez, it gets blown out of porpotion alot!
Though one has to admit that Großkreutz seems to have learned his lesson (not from Jones, but from Klopp). No shit from him this time, guess he got told pretty badly after his various escapades.
Im sorry I don't follow Dormund much, but is Großkreutz a dirty player?

So your saying that kids should learn that when the other team is annoyingly bending the rules and wasting time you should just accept it ? Standing up for your team is ptless, when millions of dollars for your club are on the line? They should learn that we can waste time ingame and play unfairly as possible because no one will say anything (not that Wigan did but they pushed it pretty well to the limite and whose to say kids wont do more). Hes not the one you can accuse of "not playing fair". Thats just a crock of shit.
Nooo, your twisting the point into an Arsenal perspective. Wigan were the underdogs, they deserved there 2 goal lead, they then just shut up shop as they didn't know what to do. But you tell me in the second half where Al Habsi made a decent save? He made a world class save about 20minutes from Benayoun header i saw in the 1st half but the second half? What did he do? You can justify Arsenal had there usual 70-80% possesion but failed to create enough to win.
Just look at the facts from the match: Arsenal 19 Shots Wigan 12 Shots Arsenal 9 Shots on Target Wigan 7 Shots on Target (Ars 10 off target Wigan 5 off target) Arsenal 9 Corners Wigan 4 Corners Arsenal Keeper made 3 saves Wigan keeper 5 saves Arsenal 15 Fouls Wigan 2 fouls Arsenal 2 Yellows Wigan 3 Yellows
So a little recap of the game on paper shows a typical Arsenal dominate with the ball but fail to score? And foul alot, probably in frustration. So to back up my theory of a typical player being very "annoyed" at dominating the game against a team they should win, being paid alot of money but RVP refuses to act in fair play and shake the opposition captain's hand as captain? Thats a bit wrong and a bad example. Im a Chelsea fan as you may know from previous posts, and i can say when we have been losing this season (alot i might add >.< and to Arsenal at home 5-3 for christ sake) i have always seen JT shake every players hand before he walks off and all the Chelsea players doing soo too even though they were not happy with anything going on, with the manager and the results of the games. RVP has scored lots of goals and been fantastic this season he has hit a mini dry patch in the last few games but he still is a good player and should bring himself to walk off the pitch shaking the other captains hand atleast even if he is pissed off because of the result. Every player is!
Im not twisting any point, shaking hands has nothing to do with fair play. Its not a good thing to be petulant and angry at the end of games and players should be as graceful as possible, yea sure I dig that. What is wrong is harping on it when players dont do it. Shaking hands wasnt even a requirement at the start of games up until a few years ago. If I dont want to swap shirts or shake hands because your upset dont do it. People are so uppity about this shit. "O noes a generation of youngsters will be scarred with bad habits because RVP didnt shake hands" Give me a break. A day at the pub and some people cant respect the dead, thats probably because someone back in the day got upset and didnt shake hands after the game.
