It's really showing that a lot of top pro are trying to diversify their character library to be ready for anything that might happen with USF4.

I know I will give at least 5 characters a serious go after USF4. Rolento was one of my favourites in SFA2, same with Guy who is getting his TC fixed. Poison seems like a fun concept. Abel and Grapplers in general might really benefit from the changes to wake-up, DP and red focus. Lastly, Gouken will most likely get a viable reversal.

That happens with my roundhouse button sometimes. Gotta run around my desk and replug my controller asap when it does.

i've been having some trouble with buttons in my stick, my mp started giving me problems so i switched mp and mk for ppp//kkk since i dont uso those buttons BUT now lp is my problem will randomly not input sometimes, so i guess my buttons are trying to tell me something.

this is for te2
now my question: what shops do our TLers recommend for acquiring sanwa parts, bonus points if they are in EU. More points if they can provide plexi too so i can customize this brick with some nice art.

Well, I checked the inside of my stick, and the connections seems fine.
The button is working right now, but I'm still a bit scared of that.
I hope it's not the mechanic inside the button that's giving up.

How easy is it to replace a button if that's the case ? Just unplug it, push it from inside and put another one ?

It's pretty easy. Best case scenario; it takes 5 seconds. Worst case scenario; it takes 10 seconds.

I've used arcadeworlduk and it worked fine. I've only used them once and haven't dealt with returns etc. so I wouldn't go as far as recommending them though.

Check out the tech forum on srk if you're uncertain, lots of guides there with pictures and everything. It's really easy.

Also, the German site I linked earlier is one of the shops listed on there, for what it's worth

I really hate where USF4 is going. This is gonna be a completely different game, so why did they even ask for individual character balance feedback when AE wont even be comparable to usf4. It took several years and versions to get relatively good balance without changing core mechanics. With all these core changes, new characters and so on, the balance will be terrible again compared to AE. Wtf are they thinking? That they can balance a new game with 44 characters with combofiend and location tests? Sure, the tiers will shift a lot, but the gap between high, mid and low tier characters will be much much bigger than now.

Apart from the fact that the game as a whole will be horribly imbalanced, as a Viper main Im pretty upset. The char specific changes werent too good but negligible to this bs. Red Focus? How the fuck is that supposed to be balanced for all chars? Vipers focus is god awful and has the slowest release in the game. Double Ultra? Yeah right, unfortunately vipers U2 is completely and utterly useless and has not a single use that U1 doesnt cover. If you look at char like Gen on the other hand, his focus has pretty much the longest reach in the game and pretty quick release. With double ultra he could now choose from 4 ultras at the same time. To top it all off, based on the AE feedback he is gonna get buffs. There are countless simiIar examples of chars that get hugely varying benefit out of these new mechanics.

I have no clue how this is supposed to work towards their desired goal of making all chars top 8 major viable and right now I have to come to the conclusion that capcom is delusional and we are headed for a huge clusterfuck.

The 2 Ultra mechanic is better for character with utility Ultra which cover multiple things.
Viper would not want both Ultra even if Ultra 2 was good, she rely quite a lot on the damage U1 does, since you can use it anywhere anytime pretty much.

And her focus is bad because you can meterless fadc off every specials and all her special cancel able normal. he would be batshit insane with a good focus.
At least she has a good armor breaker. I don't think people will try to redfocus against her very often.

But overall I agree that what's coming for Ultra is a bit worrisome. I think they're trying to change things too much. Capcom probably really want this game to be a success, but to attract people that aren't already AE players, they need to be able to market the game as fresh.

I will definitely agree on the points that Ultra feels like it could be a totally new game, which is a bit concerning. I like many was just looking forward to the slight balance nudges for everyone, and a couple of new characters. That's a perfect update. Adding game mechanics is much more serious. We'll have to see how red focus turns out. I don't mind the two ultra thing as much because people are already so used to the idea of ultras and it makes sense, especially if they come with nerfed damage when you pick both.

However, in my opinion, along those same lines, I DON'T think red focus falls into the "people are already so used to the idea of focus and it makes sense". It could (and probably will) be quite game changing. Not to mention a new series of inputs? Has anyone heard about what the input for red focus will be?

Idk I'll definitely reserve judgement until the final release, because the location tests will probably change a lot of things. Just wish I was more excited about Ultra as a whole. I was at first, but I'm also nervous and it's dampening it a bit.

There actually were pros who were vocal about adding in mechanics and revamping the games. I remembered a Japanese player (either Momochi or Tokido, i think) saying that adding in Yun & Yang and tweaking some frame data in AE made the game "new" for about a couple months and then it's just same old Street Fighter again - and people were losing interest in the game.

Like it or not, this is probably what Capcom should do to bring back interest in the Street Fighter franchise after how amazing SFxT fared. Hate it or love it people are already talking about it pre-release and I'm betting my left arm that the same people who said they hated it are gonna grind it out just as much as anyone else does.

I don't disagree. Quite the opposite really. I just hope that whatever they do, they do it right. Because I don't see them touching the game after Ultra. Even for minor tweaks. So I hope the location tests go great and perfect everything they're playing with.
