Yoooo you should be able to cancel Shoryu into antiair demon. Pick em up with the Shoryu and get a full super out of it :o Buff that in Ultra Capcom let's go. Apparently Tatsu is cancelable into demon, but does that combo??
Air tatsu hitting a grounded opponent, as well as antiair L.DP (like Steve said) can both be linked into an instant air demon. Along with a host of other much less practical things
Any juggle state. And as long as you execute the instant-air portion correctly, its basically guaranteed to connect lol:
Steve do you mind sharing a few of your strengths and weaknesses in the Oni matchup as Sakura? I'm an Oni main and I don't get to play many Sak's. Curious what you have to say.
Ah okay. I did know about the instant air demon follow-ups but a lot of Oni's moves are cancelable into super according to framedata which sounds pretty dumb to me on the surface. I figured since Tatsu is one of those cancelable moves and it leaves the opponent airborne you might be able to super-cancel it for a combo, but instant air works just as well.

Its too easy to develop scrubby habits while playing her because vs lower and mid level players she does kinda allow you to turn your brain off and put people in the blender. when you fight someone who knows the matchup and is confident in their gameplan you will hit a wall until you get some more advanced fundamentals down
and for DP FADC, the down-forward input at the end of the motion may count as the first forward in the dash as long as you're still holding that direction when you hit mp+mk. then you can just tap forward for the dash
I agree, Cammy is very simple to understand, but really hard to play against good players. I play Rose and I have no problem dealing with mid-level Cammies. It's usually very easy to figure out their jump/footsie habits because the players are still very impatient.
Master Cammies are almost impossible to beat though... I'm living in Japan right now and the Third Strike legend Takkuru Maeda goes to my local arcade, he's an absolute Cammy monster. His approach is slow and patient, he makes no mistakes in the footsie game, and never misses combos. If I whiff something, it's c.mk drill whiff punish into knockdown, into rushdown hell/guessing game. Backdashes get option selected, EX Soul Spiral is blocked and punished. Blocking/teching is the only option, it's pretty scary.

I have, but to be honest I don't remember whether it recognizes analog. I tried testing it just now, but for some reason it's not recognizing my controller at all. The PS2 to USB converter is relatively cheap though, if you want to test it out. If I had to guess, I would say the answer is no, because most games do not recognize third-party analog sticks. You're better off learning to play on D-Pad anyway since it's faster and more precise.

by D-pad you mean keyboard?
I think he meant the directional pad on the controller itself. Analog sticks on controllers like the Dual Shock 3 and Xbox controller are pretty bad for most fighting games, and are not at all similar to using an arcade stick.

I'm not surprised that most moves are technically super cancelable, but I doubt it serves a practical purpose. As far as I know there's nothing you can hit someone with and then quickly combo into Demon like you would with a typical super, i.e. majority of the cast. Is Akuma the same way? I would assume? All of Oni's are air demon juggles, even if they're off grounded moves (BnB ending with tatsu in that video, can still tightly air juggle). I wouldn't call that a super cancel by any means though.

Yeah Akuma is the same, he has lots of close normals that are super cancellable. But there's no way you're gonna combo his demon anyway, the engine just doesn't allow to combo throws on the ground. And it's useless to super cancel them anyway, better to use a kara (f.mp or s.hk for anti-jump).

Now THERE'S an idea. I'm going to try this in training mode with some BnBs and see if I can get a friend with it. Haha, never crossed my mind.

I don't know any pro playing with a keyboard, since tournaments (BIGGER ones) use either X360 or PS3 version. And even then, wouldn't proper converters give some lag to the game?

This is what I've been using for over a year now and it's a brilliant stick. Solid as any other Madcatz TE style stick. As long as you like the art lol (I do, even though I don't play Soul Cal anymore). Highly recommend. I do have the Xbox version so that's the only thing, but I don't think it'd make a difference, presumably? Maybe the way it interacts with PC. Probably something you can easily Google.
dont care for the art. if it starts to annoy me i can still just make it all black
seems like the ps3 ones work with some mainboards and not others and some stuff about usb3.0? got a asrock z77 pro4 , anyone knows if it will work? the xbox models are twice as expensive :/

Even if it doesnt work with your mainboards usb slots, you can get a cheap pci usb card (like 5-10€) with the right chip to make it work. Still way cheaper in total.
Just remember that the Soul Calibur stick (at least the 360 one) has the buttons wired in a different order than in "normal" TE sticks. Not a big deal, but you'll have to keep rebinding them e.g. if you bring it to a SF tournament.

Can't you just rewire the buttons?
Sure I guess. I've never looked inside one so I can't comment on that, but if they use connectors instead of soldered it should be feasible.
