It's also really helpful to throw fireballs (and kunais? don't know the specific timing) the moment you get off the ground for an instant air-fireball. Silent, what stick are you using? I am using a cheap crappy kontorland stick (bought 15$ a year ago). I think my exectuion problems come from that stick. When I try to do qcf motion I always get a db inside.Especially when my fighter is on left side.It s hard to explain...Stick is not well balanced.Right side of stick registers better then left side. When i do qcf left to right i need to move it a little down to forward but when i try other side I need to do big slow hadoken motion. I want to buy madcatz sf4 TE stick or madcatz WWE Allstars stick.Second stick is a lot cheaper ( around 60$) but When i read reviews most people dont seem to like it.I found a slightly used clean Madcatz SF4 TE stick around 120 $.I live in Turkey and There is no Madcatz seller in my country and cargo from europe costs a lot.I dont know which one to buy.

I bought the WWE Allstars stick, works fine for me although I've never used a high end stick (and I guess I kinda suck at this game but that's another story). Also if you don't like the stick you can always buy a sanwa joystick separately and mod it in. I don't really think it's worth forking out for a TE as a beginner, but it depends how seriously you want to take the game. Only complaint I have about the WWE stick is the artwork is fucking awful but I'm not looking at it when I play so who cares. I'd also like to say that pad or stick is fine as long as you DONT use the standard xbox controller as the dpad on that thing is absolutely atrocious. Fanatiq uses an xbox pad but he put some mod or something on the d-pad because it needs it.

I'm sure he was using that.

![]() This is just from a Google image search, not the actual stick but the proportions are the same. I've always thought HitBox style sticks would come with a lot of inherent advantages if you could just get enough practice with them to master the inputs. Being able to input multiple directions at a time is pretty sweet, for example doing a charge ultra with (hold back) tap forward twice + PPP or being able to hold forward while inputting other directions to make Sagat's kara inputs easier. I'd imagine the learning curve would be pretty brutal and it would take probably a week or so to master, but those are some pretty sick things you can do.

The only obstacle imho is the up button. I think getting used to that with your thumbs is going to be a bitch. other then that, always wanted to try one.

If you actually think about the motions you need to do (qcf = d,df,f. dp = f,d,df. etc). and just try it out, the input motion it's incredibly easy. Same applies to this style of stick. The only obstacle imho is the up button. I think getting used to that with your thumbs is going to be a bitch. other then that, always wanted to try one. I tried one out at Devastation and the guy promoting them suggested that using your right thumb for the UP direction was much easier. I only message around with if for a couple rounds but I agree with Excalibur, with practice these could be far superior to traditional sticks. So many cool things you can do with them.

I bought a WWE Allstars stick this summer, the stick is already quite loose and the X button (jab) only works half the time now... Got a TE for christmas and it really feels more robust and the stick feels better too. If you can't get a MadCatz, try looking for alternatives, such as Hori, especialy online since the Hori sticks tend to be cheaper. There's also Eightarc and Quanba that do high quality stick that are dual moded..

Speaking of Marvel, I feel like Juri with Feng Shui Engine is pretty much a Marvel character now. With that improved dash, she can lock you down by throwing a fireball at mid range and dash forward for a free mixup. And even her overhead can lead into a magic series combo. It's like she turns into Zero, a mixup machine who can store fireballs. ![]()
