A good stick you can most likely acquire is an Madcatz TE stick (any kind) for whichever platform you own. They're usually $150 but if you look around for a bit, you could probably find deals on the new sticks or the old round 1 sticks (the very first model of the TE stick). That alone should get you going. Although if you're really keen on using pad of whatever choice you want, go for it. A lot of poeple tend to use arcade sticks over pad controllers but that doesn't mean pad is obsolete. Work on what you have and you can go pretty far. I'm a stick player in street fighter 4 but when it comes to Tekken, I play MUCH MUCH more superior on pad due to +6 years of like pad experience versus an arcade stick for me. Or look at Fanatiq in UMVC3. motherfucker uses a 360 pad (WHICH IS REGARDED TO BE GARBAGE BY MANY) but he made it work. Just a thought. -- Gameplay wise, if you're really new just learn the basics and the fundamentals: Movement -Forward and Backward movement -Forward/Back Dash -Jumps Attacks: -normal moves -unique moves -special moves -EX moves -ultra & supers. throw and command throw Defense: -Difference between blocking high and low -Crossover defense (when an attack hits you from behind instead of front). -Throw break (tech is another word for throw break.) Mechanics: -Meter -Super/Ultra meter -Focus Attack -Damage scale. http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2009/may/09/how-combo-and-damage-scaling-works-street-fighter-iv/ This is basically what you should know. Most of it is incredibly easy to learn so don't feel pressured. Plus, my advice is to just pick a character (ibuki for this case) and just fuck around. Explore. Learn. In training mode. If you're looking for guides on how to play better and whatnot, that's fine we can help you with that but again, imho you get more if you play around with most of the characters until you get that "oh I like this guy" and stick with it. Well I played SF4 a bit.I played with most of characters with my friends.I really liked ibuki and I am practicing with her a lot.I know most of game mechanics already from sf4. I have a cheap/bad arcade stick.I am still trying to get used to it.If I can improve myself a lot I will reward myself with a good arcade stick. I can do ibuki Target combos and and her BnB s in training mode.I am studying her kunai setups now.But When I play versus computer or person I cant execute her combos most of time.I also have problems comboing into her ultra2.I cant do super jump cancels properly. What is the easiest way to combo into her ultra?

Remember that it has to be done quite rapidly as its a target combo essentially, however dont input KKK before you reach up forward on the stick. it does 398 damage, compared to 417 from the one you mentioned, but if you input it more consistently it might be worth using untill your execution improves.

I think the most common way is to do s.lp, s.mp, then hadouken motion (d, df, f) + s.hp and then doing d, df, f, uf + three kicks after the hp connects.

I read on the srk forums that if you're getting kazegiri you're pressing it too fast (then again your inputs may be wrong so it's not necessarily the timing).

That's somewhat ironic given that you're on a keyboard which means your inputs are all digital. Are you still having problems after AE 2012? Supposedly the inputs for all the half-circle ultras were made more lenient (so if you end on up-back instead of back it still counts, for example).

What generally happens is that if you do Left, down, right consecutively, it doesn't register. You literally, have to let go of one key before you do the next and the one after (which is a bit a change of pace when you're comboing and shit).

HCF ultras are easy to do on keyboard you just roll you fingers ASDASD or whatever your keys are. On January 09 2012 16:03 Torte de Lini wrote: 2011, PC has no 2012 update I believe, right? And no, its not Back, Down, Forward, its B, BD, D, DF, F, once again if you just roll your fingers across the keys twice its pretty instant, its a really easy command to do. The pain int he ass on keyboard is doing 360/720's
