anyone down to play some games on XBL? I got my qanba Q4 last week ^_^ raf? how much did you end up paying? Yeah the Qanba Q4RAF. It amounts to $200 ($130 for the actual stick, $70 for shipping). I got it from play-asia, it's better if you buy alot of stuff altogether at play-asia cause of shipping :\ worth the money though Excab when do you usually play? I rarely ever play on XBL ever since I got the PC version, but with 2012 PC delayed I played a bit over the holiday break. I suppose if I'm gonna continue to play it will be on Saturdays. I also play locally at work everyday during lunch. Yeah, same. We should play sometime (and streaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam)
I basically refuse to stream SF4 now for two reasons:
- DXTory, the program I use to capture the game at the DirectX level and therefore cause minimal impact on performance, doesn't work correctly on fullscreen games. In SC2 and Dota2 I'm able to capture in windowed fullscreen (aka borderless window at max resolution) at 60 fps. - SF4 doesn't support windowed mode properly and there are random frame drops. Hell, to even get windowed mode you have to use the Windows shortcut Alt+Enter! When trying to play online (or even just in training mode) this is an absolute killer. I streamed my online ranked matches for one night and it cost me enough matches to make me never want to do it again.
I haven't tried the new Xsplit (which can capture fullscreen but was only getting like 15 fps a few versions ago) but maybe it's better?

I've always played in window mode and never noticed frame drops. Do you have a source on that or is it purely your own experience?

I got SF IV AE for PC at the last steam sale. I got 30fps per avg with the system check. Is that enough to play multiplayer? And what the hell is FADC? I don't seem to understand it, especially when checking out the trial mode. :S (some kind of focus dash and then...?)

You focus attack but dash while doing it and it will cancel the focus attack. Learn it, it will help you FA better, and if no attack comes you are able to cancel the full animation which leaves you wide open to attack.

Fighting games run at 60 fps, anything less and you're actually missing gameplay (hence why it's called frame data). Lower your setting until you run at or as close as you can get to 60 fps!

That's just my own experience. I run a Core i7 and have more than enough RAM and a powerful enough videocard to ensure 60 fps in fullscreen at all times. For some reason though going windowed drops it to the occasional 55 or so, and god help you if you're trying to combo during that drop. When I did stream it was in windowed 1280x720 too, so a reduced resolution from what I normally play, and it was killing me.

Xbox players can't play with PC players. The player pools are segregated.

I'm thinking about getting this for PC, what is the difference between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition?

Arcade edition is the newest/expansion version of sf4 with more characters and rebalancing.

I heard that but I don't know for sure

Nope, the latest update was a free patch, so you will just have to download that.

There's a Major Difference between Street Fighter IV and SUPER Street Fighter 4:Arcade Edition. For one, you can't get Arcade Edition for STREET FIGHTER 4, because it's an expansion for SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4. (Gotta love Capcom for that one)... SSF4:AE allows you to play much more character, it is also the latest version and every characters has 2 ultras, as opposed to one. I think that's the only major difference, other than the balance changes.

On January 06 2012 05:47 Hikko wrote: I'm thinking about getting this for PC, what is the difference between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition? Lots of people new to the series would easily get confused by the different iterations so I'll quote my post from a few days ago. Hopefully this clears any confusion :
+ Show Spoiler +Just to clarify, there are 4 versions of Street Fighter 4. In order, they are: -Street Fighter 4 (aka "vanilla SF4") -Super Street Fighter 4 (aka "Super") -Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition (aka "AE") -Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012 (aka "AE 2012" or v2012")
AE 2012 is purely a free DLC add on to AE only and is not yet out on PC. Consoles have retail copies of the first 3 on the list. PC only has Vanilla SF4 and AE. Super was skipped entirely on PC.
If you got Vanilla SF4 on PC by accident, you won't be able to upgrade to Super, AE, or AE 2012 at all unfortunately.

I'm using Xsplit currently and Dxtory together (there's some TL guide for it somewhere, I can look for it?) but I don't know how to achieve streams like Team spookys (360/480p but buttery smooth as hell). I could proooobably screw around with xsplit alone for SF4 PC.

Yeah, I followed that guide (which owns by the way, and was the reason I found out about DXtory). Streaming in windowed mode never slowed you down at all? I don't have a purchase account for Xsplit so I can't test the GameSource function, but maybe that would work better?

It would be pretty sick if he popped off at one of you guys live like he did to DP lol

Hi guys i m thinking about buying ssf4ae for pc.I am new to fighting games but i liked characters and moves so far.I am quite a competitive player and I am wondering how is online play. There are no arcades in my country so my only hope is online play.
I also want to know how is learning curve of this game.I already know basic stuff like focus cancels dashes BnB combos supers/ultras frames etc.I can perform most of challenges. But I have no experience versus real people. How hard is it gonna be to adapt against real players.
