Naw, I've played over 500-600 ranked matches and I can't get past 1000 PP/2.9k BP, and am averaging around 500 PP most of the time >_>

Don't know if anyone can help me with this, but I struggle a lot when faced with stuff like block-string into crossup/fake crossup into block string into crossup into block string intro crossup... Well, you get the picture. Am I supposed to be doing something to get out of this situation? Right now the only way I get out of it is if my opponent attempts a tick throw and I tech it.
Basically I seem to get caught in this sort of situation a lot and while I'm able to block for a while, it's just a matter of time before I eat a cross up combo. Any pointers?

most blockstrings end with them pushed far away from you, at which point you can backdash, poke, etc.
you should be able to anti-air the crossup. i don't know what character you are so i don't know what anti-airs you have available.

Neutral Jump. Find a good Air to Air normal while neutral jumping and blow up the crossup you know is coming.

So I've been playing online recently and getting my ass kicked severely. Any tips on how to deal with Ibuki as Ryu, she's so quick and her crossups are annoying as hell.
Also do you guys use mk instead of c.hp as a link after forward hp? I find it easier

You don't derank, you just have what I call negative points (ie you have 4950 bp but you are in B rank
Of course, I've never had my bp drop to 2.5k so I wouldn't know ;P How you manage to lose 2.5k in B rank is beyond me (unless you run into a poongko.smurf)

np im halfway back to B, PP ranging 1200-1900
tomorrow i'll try to put my best/worst matchups because i think it will have something to have with my downranking, i'm guessing v Ryu is awful, i get zoned to death and there are a lot of ryu out there.
don't need to be fantastic to beat me thats for sure ._.

Just picked this game up, I'm fucking awful at it. It's absolutely nothing like MVC which I'm ok at lol.

Tbh, that first stick looks like shit. That V3 is okay if you are starting out, but once you get going, you'll want the sanwa sticks (the real v3 or TE). You don't really need 8 buttons, the extra two are usually set to PPP or KKK and thus are optional (though they are handy to have).
PS3 sticks may not work on your pc, depending on your driver. Every xbox stick is plug+play, no problem

I've found if ever i'm at the end of my patience with a loss streak, I just pick gief mash lariat or SPD i've been able to blow up 3k PP players that normally waltz all over me, he's such a troll

i have a hori rap v3 for the ps3, works fine plug and play on pc.

Oh sweet. Thanks for the heads up on the 360 one. And yeah I figured the ps3 one would play on a PC, I just don't like aesthetics on the black Hori one.

The one thing I'll say about hori sticks, and I don't know if this is true of their new run of sticks, but the entire set of sticks hori made in 2008 for both ps3 and 360 (so the HRAP3 and HRAPEX I think they're called) all have an issue with the usb cable shorting out and needing to be replaced.
It's a quick repair if you know someone who can do it, and a replacement usb cable is dirt cheap, but it's a pain in the ass when it happens. Haven't heard anything about their new sticks having it, but it's something to watch out for.

i've played a bit of third strike and that's about it. just wondering how this active frame works? it seems very critical and i just fail to understand the mechanism of it. =[
