This the game I grew up playing. Used to play with the ID xantir if anyone remember. Best game ever, nothing will ever become like it. It's so three dimensional compared to Counter-Strike. You have people moving all over the place. I still have it installed on my PC and play it every once in a while. | ||

Used to play this game on a broken ISDN with 170 ping on avarage so I only used the sniper and throwing knives and had to smart aim ahead of targets. Still managed to be one of the best players in my ( albeit small ) country. | ||

I've played plenty of QW Team Fortress on the old days and a lot of Urban Terror today, but trying aq2 gets me confused... dark maps, don't know what weapons to pick or how to pick, don't know where to go, this kind of things... but I surely understand why people like it... it's almost like trying to play deathmatch quake 1 | ||

Aq2 jumping revolve mainly around 2 mechanics. - Strafe jumping to get higher speed which means you can fly farther. - "Crate jumping" / Double jumping. In addition, you got the ability to drag your mouse sideways right before jumping in order to increase speed/jump velocity. It's what makes the Q2 engine so awesome and special. Q3 is similar, but not as awesome. The Action Quake remake for Q3 (Reaction?) was not as good because the movement physics didn't feel 100% right. Combine these mechanics with awesome maps, and you got a really dynamic and unique game with a high skill ceiling. As I said in an earlier post, it really makes the game more three-dimensional. You have to pay attention to the whole map, people can be almost anywhere. | ||

 . The game has been 'dying' for so many years now, but there's still people playing on the finnish pelitutka servers, and some clans still seach for clanwars. Looking at http://www.z0r.nl/index.v3.php?link=stats&search=1 there's still people who are somewhat active (funny how I recognize pretty much every name on that list since no one new ever comes to this game and actually stays with it)What really killed the game for me was the fact that there was never a GOOD working anticheat, and some of the players who had been in the community forever got randomly busted. Every time we played some of the suspecious clans they would refuse to play on the norwegian server because of the anticheat requirement and apparantly it 'lagged' the game on finlands computers O_O EDIT: forgot serverlist - http://www.quakeservers.net/quake2/servers/t=aq2/so=8/ | ||
