what it will mean for the game is that using weapons like spinfusors and arxbusters at high speed will be easier and more effective compared to projectile/hitscan weapons, as well as being more intuitive, since we understand velocity inheritance and momentum inherently, so if it's replicated more accurately we can predict trajectories and impacts more intuitively.
I just got on to play today after patch as I haven't played for a while, and the game runs like shit on my computer...
Framerate terrible even on low GFX....wtf? This game loses all semblance of fun at even the smallest lag so its pretty unplayable for me now....anyone else having this issue or am I just crazy.

For comparison sake, what are your computer specs?
So I can easily chalk this up to me being new to this game (been playing about only 5 days or so, level 12 or so), but Pathfinders and Raiders really rip me a new one when I'm playing Sentinel. It's hard as fuck to land any Nova Colt hits whatsoever on PTH's and it doesn't even matter if I hit a RDR because that shield pack is gonna soak up those hits that do land. Anybody more experienced have any advice?
I've been trying all sorts of stuff like staying in places that take quite a bit of creative skiing (or a ton of jetpack energy) to get to as an attempt to limit the number of attempts on my life. Using the jammer seems to actually clue them into my position more often than not, and claymores are nigh useless with the amount of explosive primary guns around. I've also tried spending the entire game only taking 3-4 shots from a single position then getting the hell out of dodge, but more often than not, I find myself off-rhythm and way out of position to take a clear shot on the flag runner on either ingress or egress, especially on Bella Omega.

Just an odd question: Do you have any sort of Flash streaming running at the same time on any monitor? I've found that having any sort of streaming running utterly destroys framerates whether or not hardware acceleration is enabled or not in Flash settings, and I have a 6970.

I don't play much sentinel but I do get killed by them quite often. I find them most effective vs. me when they do one of two things. They get into a location near their spawn (for possible reinforcement help) that is very much out of my way and hard to get to. For example, on Drydocks, sniping from far up on your spawn tower. The other thing you can do is snipe where there are natural defenses, like sniping near the front turret on Katabatic as Blood Eagle (shooting towards the mid field).
That's what pisses me off the most when I'm playing pathfinder.

Sentinel is one of the weakest classes out there, you shouldn't really challenge anyone to a fight. You can finish low hp players off with nova colt if you've the aim since it has decent damage but you're much better off simply sniping people. Either hang around your spawn or alternate between few spots, even if you don't kill anyone, you don't want to stay on same spot tunnel visioning whole round. Be glad you haven't met infiltrators yet, when there's a dedicated inf player whos sole purpose is simply to kill you over and over it's pain in the ass to play sentinel.
If it's Bella Omega you might as well leave and try to rejoin another game, map blows so much still.

Yeah that's what I've found most effective so far as well. The side trident-shaped towers also aren't bad since it takes so much momentum/energy to get up there. The front turrets as you mentioned are great as well since inbound front/back cappers are barely moving down your scope and heavies are just fish in a barrel, but more often than not, even when I call out targets for heavies to watch out for, light D usually isn't even paying attention, wasting their time on midfield duels with mediums or heavies. The one time I had terrific support in the form of a Shrike pilot actually responding to target spots I had no problem getting people to think twice about trying to dislodge me, but should I even expect others to provide cover/support in pubs?
EDIT:
@DCRed: I've actually run into a few INF's -- it's actually not terrible having to deal with them. I just drop a jammer near a technician turret a bit closer to the flag and let the jammer decloak + technician turret deal with the infiltrator. I'd also rather not just leave and try to rejoin another map -- that feels like a copout if I avoid playing the only map that the generator actually matters on.

framerate is very inconsistent for me (955+ ocd 460 1gb) but far from unplayable. first question as always, are your drivers up2date? :>

semi offtopic but whats the deal with flash anyways. there are some games it has ZERO effect on like sc2 where i often stream some tv shows in the backround, then some where it produces weird glitches ( like graphic bugs when tabbing out to a running stream, weird performance drops etc) and others which have the tendency to just crash.
btw again 2 questions: - just unlocked pathfinder since its so cheap (and juggernaut didnt interest me much), is there any point to the shotgun? the range is terrible³ and in close quarters the spinfuser is way better (esp for me as a ex quake player ). i used the rifle / soldier colt for mid+ range and esp for picking of low hp targets. for both the shottgun seems kinda useless?
- considering giviving them some money. game seems fun enough to me that i can spend 10$ on it.seems like they really try,i want the 1.5x modifier and its already fun enough that they deserve a little "donation" ~~ should i buy 800 gold for 10$ or the 8$ 10day booster? seems like if i buy a normal price class im left with 280 gold which is then just sitting there? or is there other stuff you can spend gold on?

I don't mind the new Bella Omega. I kinda like it now that they made it ski-able and added the generator feature.
As for the sentinel, it's a real garbage class right now. Aside from the nova colt being a piece of shit, the real problem is that the sniper rifle has a completely gimped and useless zoom. It needs to have 2-4x the zooming power that it currently has.
God... seeing blue plate special pop up is probably one of the more fun times I've had recently in games.
Edit: The infusion of pleasure that comes with nailing a fleeing capper halfway across the map is amazing. A lot of it is luck at this point b/c it's been a while since I played Tribes (like 2-3 years) but it's coming back!

I tend to avoid paying for F2P stuff because I don't like the business model, but Hi-Rez is offering things well enough that I think $10 is well worth it right now. You get the VIP in addition to everything else and the VIP status will make unlocking everything go much much faster.
For me I was able to buy the PTH + Jumper and only have 20 gold left. If you already have the pathfinder, I don't know what you'd do with the left over gold.

My favorites are... 1. Grabbing the flag immediately before an enemy caps it 2. Grabbing a flag immediately after an ally caps it 3. Nailing a flag runner with the #3 calldown (the weaker aerial strike).

Yep, killing flag carriers is my favorite thing about tribes. I love sending a mortar high up in the air for it to come down and perfectly connect with their capper who thinks he's in the clear.
Bought the 10 days booster myself which with the VIP status makes the grind so much more less, got half of the classes already. Sentinel's zoom could maybe use one level more but what really gets me is when someone goes to a shadow of a nearby hill I've to squint my eyes and go close to my monitor to be really sure where they are. Maybe I should try changing settings a bit and see if that helps. But there isn't really anything more satisfying than killing the fc just when he's about to cap and you deny it.
edit: Nova Colt is pretty hard to aim with, you need to lead quite a bit but it does 350 damage, I just took double kill killing two lighties with two nova shots.
Performance is quite bad for me too, I get about 100 fps roaming katabatic alone and often fall below 50 fps in a pub game on drydock. I'm playing on minimum settings and my specs are Phenom2 X4 at 3.5GHz, ATI HD5870. Also, ATI cards just suck. If you have any kind of hardware accelerated video running they underclock the core to 400MHz because the video unit only works at that clock rate. There's still an ancient bug that ATI refuses to fix that also reduces the memory clock when doing that so you get all kinds of flickering and artifacts when you start watching a video, mostly on dual monitor setups. You can flash the BIOS to get rid of the memory issue but you still have to close all streams and youtube videos etc. when playing games to get decent performance.
Back on topic, I wish they'd enable the share XP button so I didn't have to play suboptimal classes just because I want the XP on them. Like when 80% of the team defends and I want the daily bonus on doombringer, gl attacking with that class.
