How's it like? Fun/worth?
Also, Stardrive seems to be kind of fun. Only 61/100 metacritic. Anyone got some info? May I suggest Endless Space instead, it seems to be the better game. Although it has been discounted already down to £9. Endless Space is a terrible game. Stardrive is actually a pretty good game, it just happens to unfortunately be very unpolished and becomes almost unplayable at later stages unless you have a supercomputer.

Sorry but I have to disagree. Stardrive has a great ship builder that i played a dozen hours with but outside of that the game is really bare. Endless space on the other hand isnt perfect either ofc but it has a lot more depth, playability and its getting regular updates.
That said both are very different games. The fact that Star Drive is real time while Endless Space is turn based alone sets them wildly apart.

Recommending stardrive over endless space is insanity. Stardrive feels more like an early alpha than a finished game.

Well it seems to split opinion. I think neither game is legitly worth over 10 quid haha. In fact, I think the majority of games made nowadays are barely worth over 15.

Hmm... Can I ask a question?
I would like to buy some games for my girlfriend. This summer sales is great chance for it. But i'm completely lost what to pick. She doesn't have good english. She bored from Age of HD and her fingers are toooo slow for starcraft 2 (She loves watching it btw.) She can play some platform games, or some strategy games (slow ones obviously..) maybe adventures but i don't think her english can enough for it. Soo.. Any ideas what to get?

Suggestions for platformers I can recommend from my collection are: FTL: Faster Than Light ($4.99) is a good suggestion for a spaceship strategy game. Bastion ($7.49) is a great isometric action/adventure game that has an awesome english narrator say everything you do. The Binding of Isaac ($2.50) is also a Zelda like dungeon crawler, very little dialogue. EDGE ($2.50) is a fun isometric platformer playing as a cube rolling (cubing?) around. Mirrors Edge ($5.99) is a fun first person platforming game (freerunning/parkour: the game basically). Portal 1+2 bundle ($6.24) is really cheap. Stealth Bastard Deluxe ($3.39) is a fun and cheap 2d side scrolling stealth game, the predecessor is a freeware just called Stealth Bastard but isn't as expansive. VVVVVV ($2.49) is a cheap 2d side scrolling platformer about reversing gravity instead of jumping. Difficult but tons of checkpoints. The music in most of them is really good too. I hear good things about Fez, but I just got it and haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Other way around. Endless Space is pretty solid - StarDrive is terribad!

I can't even fathom how someone arrives at this conclusion. I don't think ES is exception but it's a highly competent 4x especially consider a new terrible space 4x seems to come out every week, among them StarDrive, which is a truly terrible game

I am done with my Steam sales for this summer sale. Thanks a lot for your help in this thread <3
Bought so far: Portal 1+2 Fallout 3/New Vegas Faster Than Light Darksiders 1+2 Torchlight 2 Titan Quest Gold
Still going to buy and just waiting for it to be reduced to 75%:
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die
This should be enough to keep me busy until the next sale lol

I bought Eador: MotBS at release, or well I got the pre-order since you got the original game aswell so yu could fiddle a bit with thatone before release. It's a nice mix of game like Heroes of Might & Magic and Civilization so if you're into that kind of turn-based strategy you might like this cute little remake aswell. Either way for the current price it's worth a shot, though I'm biased being a sucker for this kind of stuff.

no one is ever done LoL. I'm gonna have to agree. I am set for like the next year or so.
Only one I really really want now is Metro 2033 for ~75% but who knows what else I will run across.

Already bought way too much and considering Rome II will be released this year I think I'm already set for the next summer.. Just waiting for a good dishonored deal. I'm quite sure it'll come.
As a general rant, I'm pretty pissed off at how modern games implement DLC features. I bought Borderlands 2 (+ Season Pass) and I still get pop-ups to buy shit when I click on certain items (like skins, just marked with a little * ). Same thing in Heroes of Might & Magic VI. I can't stand this in non F2P-Games. Ingame DLC adds destroy my immersion.

Does anybody of my fellow german TL people know how trading with games works in case there is a "german low violence" version ? Is it possible to trade the non-german version with somebody from outside of germany ? Fallout New Vegas is pretty cheap right now, and I would consider buying it weren't it for the forced low violence german version (pretty much the same with HL 2, played it ages ago, would probably just buy it to play it once again, but not this version )

No workarounds with setting your region or what not?

So if you have a friend in the US, you can pay him and he'll gift you the game, and your version will the uncut. But don't quote me on that.

Hrm.. changing the download server region does nothing, as does changing the language (didn't expect THAT one to do anything, but I run everything in english if possible anyway)
The account is on a german e-mail adress too, don't know if that has anything to do with it or if I could register als somebody from outside of germany with a german e-mail adress too.
