This will be my 2nd experience with running an outfit with a base of TLers. The first was a fairly successful Star Wars TOR guild (top 10 raid, top 3 pvp). Message me if you're interested in this server/ faction. It might be sensible to have the outfit on us east because it will allow everyone from the EU and US to be one one server. Not sure what is the best option with factions because we could have an outfit for each or one for everyone. I'm not sure we would have enough people to have three outfits though so we might just have to pick one faction.

What matters most to me though is if it's actually fun to play and if it takes a good amount of skill.

All I can say is the graphics look quite beautiful from the screenshots I've seen plus the idea of a huge fps-mmo is interesting to me. They almost removed all the "MMO" from it compared to PS1 and if you're "skilled" enough at a game like Call of Duty then you'll be good at this game as well. Overall, the persistent world and 3 separate factions is what makes it much better than CoD/BF, plus its free.

Overall, the persistent world and 3 separate factions is what makes it much better than CoD/BF, plus its free. Don't forget the part with up to 6000 players simultaneously. Even as part of the Zerg, if you just run around sooner or later you'll stumble on some base assault where 200 people plus tanks and aircraft fight over one base and it's just a great feeling, fighting your way forward from cover to cover, explosions everywhere, tanks rushing in and driving over the guys next to you while rockets explode on it's armor. You look up and see 2 of your fighters chasing after an enemy fighter, another bomber exploding from the anti-air fire of one of your skyguard tanks while another fighter strafes across the battlefield unleashing his missile barrage on anything that might or might not be hostile. You turn around and see your spawn sunderer going up in flames, taking the nearby engineers that were trying to repair it with it. Your heart sinks. But then you see another sunderer rolling in from the distance and the assault regains it's strength and continues on. Then, after 20 deaths, you finally reach the base and the infantry battle reaches it's height, grenades exploding everywhere around you while you claw your way forward through corridors covered by engineers with their turrets unleashing a crossfire on anyone that gets in their sight. Snipers picking off people from windows. Heavy Assaults using their Rocket Launchers on any group of soldiers they find. Finally, after another dozen deaths until you finally break through and capture the objective. ...and then the other faction joins the battle. I'd say, yes, it definitely is fun. I really enjoy playing it, even when i don't feel like running around with a fixed squad.

much prefered it when points were also gained while you were offline because now you have dozens of people standing around at the warpgate doing nothing again.

As a long time PS1 player, I might go play PS1 a little when it's f2p again (if it isn't already) The graphics are good, but it just feels pointless and un fun to me. It doesn't have the spirit of the original PS game which I enjoyed more.

I've been killed countless of times in the few seconds I took to decide whether the guy in front of me is a friend or not. Yesterday I've been running behind some Vanu dude for longer than a minute thinking he's one of our guys (he didn't seem to notice/mind either). And then I suddenly realized he's dressed weird so I shot him in the back. Maybe you get used to it after a while, but still I'd like some more UI options to play with.

I'd sub to PS1 again in a heartbeat if it had a sizeable population and the devs sorted out the worst of the imbalances (aircav dominance and ridiculous useage of MAXes). Oh, and if they sorted out hacking once and for all. As for PS2 it felt a bit underwhelming. I'll give it another go at Christmas but the little bit I did play just failed to capture me in the same way that PS1 did ![]()
