I'd recommend BAX for Mattherson NC.

He gets revived. A friendly Galaxy falls on his head. Yep, thats PS2.

You might want to watch this video. It is informative, but only covers a bit of the game. The video author also provides helpful information in the description. + Show Spoiler +

Find a platoon that uses the ingame voicechat ASAP. All the tutorials won't prepare you for the complexity of PS2, you will still be stuck running around not knowing where to go and die a hundred times. A decent platoon solves that problem, gives you direction and brings order into the chaos. Many public platoons are either bad or just abandoned platoon "zombies" lead by a random guy who inherited the lead after the original platoon leader left, so it might take a few attempts to find a decent platoon. Look for one with an outfit tag in the platoon list. Also, the game is very unforgiving to newer players since there are by now lots of players that put a thousand hours and more into the game, so you will get stomped a lot. Don't be discouraged, they aren't stronger than you by game design, they are just more experienced. Common terminology for organized play that you should know: Sunderer: Vehicle that is usually used as a spawnpoint. Needs to be certed and equipped to be able to spawn people, but everyone in the game has his Sunderers equipped as such. Galaxy: Big transport aircraft for 12 people. People can jump out of it midflight and land safely on the ground, so it's usually used to drop troops behind enemy lines or on important targets. "Back to the warpgate and into the galaxies" is probably the most used phrase by all platoon leads in Planetside 2 since it's a convenient way to get everyone to where they are needed. PL/SL: Platoon leader/Squad leader, the guys giving orders to you Outfit: Guild, Clan, Team, whatever you call it. MAX crash: Everyone spawns a MAX, groups up and, on the PL's signal, pushes a given objective together. Spawn beacon: Squad leaders can place them once they unlocked it. Spawnpoint on a long cooldown that is usually used to spawn people behind enemy lines where a Sunderer can't get.

I like that the Vanu Drop Squad on the Waterson server is finally living up to its name! I'm in their tank column, but I've spent twice as much time in a Galaxy as I have in a Magrider.

I think people used to the pressure of the ranked SC2 ladder will already have figured this out.

Or actually fighting scythes head on raises my disgust a little recently, but I've adjusted by always going for ambushes on them and keeping a far distance when it looks like they are aware and will gun for me.

I've seen a platoon clear out \\\ ACE PILOTS OF THE SERVER /// from a hex by simply telling everyone to grab a skeeter and mob the fuckers...

I've seen a platoon clear out \\\ ACE PILOTS OF THE SERVER /// from a hex by simply telling everyone to grab a skeeter and mob the fuckers... People will more now that galaxies can spawn, but it's because in big battles it's just so much more effective to use ground to air to counter air, and all it takes is a few flak/lockon sources and air can't even come near a battle. And the huge outfits get in huge battles where air is mostly useless due to critical mass of lockons and flak quite often. Also they are comprised mostly of people who are barely effective at anything in the air, everyone usually just dies really fast and then there's no good respawn points established (which is overlooked but is really the very biggest downside).

I've seen a platoon clear out \\\ ACE PILOTS OF THE SERVER /// from a hex by simply telling everyone to grab a skeeter and mob the fuckers... Air has three disadvantages: Air scales worse than anti-air. Think of Mutalisks vs Marines, at small numbers it can work but once there is a certain number of things shooting up, even a larger group of aircraft gets devastated. In small engagements air can crush ground forces, which is why small squads often run air - they farm small groups that don't have AA ready - but 2-3 burster MAXes beat 12 ESF and 5-6 burster MAXes can beat a whole air platoon. Air can't get close enough. Vehicles can sometimes drive straight to the control point and help infantry there, air is 100m above the control point and has to stay in constant motion, so they are useless for a fight inside the control point. They can snipe some of the enemies moving towards it, but they can't flat out stop an enemy advance, they just slow it down and once the enemy is at the point, all people inside aircraft are missing in the actual fight. Air requires skill. In your average platoon, maybe 5-6 guys have the skill to stay in the air long enough for their cooldown to expire. You can't really throw numbers at the opponent and hope to win in an air battle. Sure, you can beat a single air squad with a swarm of ESF once but two minutes later half of the platoon crashed into each other and the other half is decorating the trees. It's safer to rely on the scaling of ground based AA than bet on air. I like my air zergs to clear a position in one hammerstrike, we sometimes pull 48 Reavers to clear a position, but it's a gimmick, not a reliable strategy.

Join NC, they need a nerf and we need more bad players to take the blue.
