pretty much what i thought. really hope it doesnt make a big difference, if you properly fly and aim then the gun should be the most rewarding and strongest weapon (atleast against other air). locking on and spamming the trigger is ezpz.
667/500 = ~0.75s to 100% to 0% a jet; ~0.5s to disable a jet
you can 100-20% a tank with the jet cannon if you hit the back chassis with all of your rounds before overheat (no belt speed). Its current form is OP and its too easy to disable people right off the bat when two planes are flying at each other.
If you're flying head on into someone you definitely should be getting disabled with the cannon hitting you though. The tank thing is one thing but that seems better rectified on the tank's end than the damage output by the jet
and shockk, yeah learning the maps is the #1 key to good play. second is probably getting a kit that works for you on the map you are on (provided you are not just grinding away for something) IR sucks these days. There are probably a lot of people with black spec ops camo, which is dark and difficult to spot in some areas. I am usually too lazy to change camo each round.

ok instead of flying head on at someone at the start of a dogfight you should turn around and fly away from him and give him even more time to shoot at your jet with an OP Cannon. Anyone can get half a seconds worth of rounds on someone at the very beginning of a dogfight, but not everyone can fly properly. OP Jet cannon ruins dogfights 100% if one guy is bad mannered and knows he can't out fly you so he might as well try and shoot you up at the very start ^>~
Like I think its hilarious how you said the nerf wasn't warranted when the jet cannon does 667 DPS before armour modifiers, isn't affected by gravity or distance, and has no recoil. Thats pretty big in Battlefield terms especially when planes have 500 hp (I think helicopters die even faster) and are pretty big targets when two planes are flying at each other

i never even once thought "oh the jet cannon is too strong". never. not even when i was still getting ripped apart by it by anyone.
if they get a full target on me at a low distance then they should shoot me down, i see no reason why it shouldnt be that way.
dont fly head on people, dont let em get behind you. i rather get killed by the cannon and know that guy did maneuver&aim right then getting shot down by missiles by some tard.
also i dont see why that tank example matters at all. you talk about 100% hit rate on a ground target on its weakest spot that doesnt get killed by it. dont see any problem here at all.
/edit but i like that they want to even out the gunner on choppers. its stupid how amazing that gun is and how much better then the pilots missiles it is.

Or does everyone but me have IR sights?
im usually too lazy to change camo. spotting enemys takes expirience. was similar for me at the start but if they dont have the triangle over their head and you dont see any muzzle flash then you arent supposed to see them easily.
ir sight apparently was quite op at the start but when i joined (end of december) it already was nerfed and i dont think i used it for even 50 kills across all guns. so nah, its def not required.
learning maps, the flow of the game and esp learning to constantly check the minimap are the 3 things that will help you the most with not getting randomly killed that often. it still happens, thats the nature of the game. but when i started out i had like a pathetic 0.6 k:d ratio. in the last 30 hours i played its more on the 2.0+ side of things so yeah, just keep playing, evrything will get better

This right here is the worst advice you can give anyone in jets. If you don't fly directly head on at someone then you're giving them a large target to shoot at for a longer time, and/or it will be impossible to get behind them. Sure you can barrel roll and things but there are disadvantages to that as well and considering the jet railgun only needs 0.5 seconds of rounds to disable you, newbie jet users still get too much of an advantage by using luck over skill. HINT: You're not good if you shoot someone down, you're good if you outfly someone
Also for reference: I am not often shot down in this situation, but a lot of times my HP goes from 100 to 50 or something dumb

Never tried HC. What's the difference?
Main point = you kill/die faster. Also, the display on the bottom left corner isn't there (health, ammo, etc.)
From Reddit:
I enjoy HC more – personal opinion No Hp regen – bring a medic No Kill Cam – because no one likes this No Vehicle regen – bring a wrench No 3d spotting Realistic health – because several bullets to the chest should kill you No 3rd person view – too easy for drivers to see around them Friendly Fire is ON – explosive ignorance has consequences Situational awareness is key – you make noise, you show up on the mini-map I can kill teammates that piss me off (not often ) I can deal with teammates that steal my vehicles (again, not often) I think hardcore demands a greater sense of awareness of your surroundings Only Squad Leader spawn - teamwork Having intuition on where the enemy is moving is more rewarding, personally, than seeing a triangle move behind a wall. No seeing/spotting people through smoke – this is just lol
Only play normal. I always enjoyed playing with full information availble, where the principle of who is better is the person who can best use all of that information to his advantage rather than who can obtain any information at all.
Also, explosives and snipers are utterly gay in HC.
Hardcore: Whoever sees the other first wins. Also annoying mortars and explosive spamming. Normal: You actually need skill aiming, especially with headshots.
I don't care about the Ammo/Health Display/Crosshair.

IMO, playing on normal with 3D spotting disabled is infinately better than hardcore. You don't die if someone sneezes in your direction that way. Also, I like to see how much ammo is left in my clip thanks... I can't count the bullets coming out of a 700 RPM gun.
