You'll level slowly as a recon, though (compared to the other classes) as there's little you can do for support, which usually nets the most points. You might get a sweet spot where you can rack up some kills but usually the battle will shift and then your spot has become worthless and others might already be taken or overcrowded. Metro is a decent map for weapon practice and point whoring but it can easily suck the fun out of the game if you overdo it, as that map has nothing to do with Battlefield. | ||

I really want that recon sniper rifle, M98B Whore Metro; dump your T-UGS (motion sensor) near the side stairs as there is always a massive nade/320/RPG spam fest there and you will rack up mass points. The T-UGS will automatically pick up enemy players nearby and mark their location on the map, and every time someone gets a kill, you'll get a spotting bonus. Should probably also use the frag specialisation too if you've already got it. Nade spam helps. There are locations you can sit for either side too and wait for the wanna-be-hero to try and make a mad dash up/down those stairs so that you can take their heads off for free kills :\ | ||

What's the fastest way to lvl up guys? I really want that recon sniper rifle, M98B dont use the sniper rifles to level recon , way to slow , get the mp7 from co-op , slap extended mag & laser sights on it and go on a killing spree in team deathmatch. shouldent take you long to unlock the sniper rifles | ||

And my main complaint is on the massive levels with vehicles. If the other team gets control of the air its game over. Period. Ive even had a friend join who is an ace in a jet, but the opposing team just blew up our heli's and jets as they respawned. And some more viable anti air (surface to air) is needed. | ||

As for your "issues" with vehicle levels: Air dominance means nothing. More often than not the team ruling the skies will lose in the end because they're wasting time, personnel and tickets on doing anything but playing the objective. Proper helicopter and jet ground support can contribute to winning a round, but this is very rare on public servers. Most of the time, you'll just see jet pilots hunting after dogfights and chopper pilots teamkilling their gunners when they inevitably crash. If you're off against a couple of good pilots, a single ace on your own team will have no chance to take them down. A concerted effort on AA from your own team - manning the stationary AA, manning the AA tank and having some engineers with IGLA/Stinger blasting away at the skies can quickly turn the tide in your favor. And if you're being baseraped, with vehicles blown up the moment they spawn and your stationary AA long in shambles: Just leave the server. Chances are you won't see your team coming back from the siege and you'll just build up frustration over how little your own team is willing to do to change things. Been there, done that, and now I usually just Alt + F4 the moment I see my team being baseraped into oblivion, so I can find another server with more even teams. | ||

And some more viable anti air (surface to air) is needed. its quite rare that air domination really gives a big advantage. jets arent that dangerous for ground , if air dominates its usually a good chopper pilot+gunner that really changes the game on the ground. but even then between iglas, AA tank, javelin/soflam and tank laser targeting+guided you can always shoot em down or atleast deny airspace. and as others said, if they start baseraping then man the big stationary flak or leave. | ||

and yeah fastest way to level recon is USAS + Tugs on metro or other tight maps. Pick a high traffic corner, drop tugs and rack it up | ||

Then when the round starts run behind enemy lines, plant a beacon and start taking those guys from behind. TDM with shotties and smgs (or even snipers if you're playing HC) racks up points quite well. Or you can do the same thing I did, just snipe in Conquest and get those fat marksman bonus points. You should also try getting L96 unlocked. It's a far superior rifle compared to the M98B in my opinion. | ||

It's a far superior rifle compared to the M98B in my opinion. in what ways ? m98b has less drop and flies faster which makes it easier to hit moving targets. havent used any other bolt action rifle since i unlocked the m98b. and imho just do it the hard way, go and snipe. it will take time to learn proper sniping anyways so taking shortcuts doesnt help much. /edit me late | ||

The drop is minimal on it too The L96 is better at medium range for an aggressive recon playstyle (the perfect rifle for that actually) because of the larger ammo capacity and better reload time (I like how the rifle feels too at small to medium ranges), and the M98B is the best sniper rifle for long range sniping, because of the small bullet drop (and previously higher dmg, but I think it got patched). | ||
