I feel like I am the only one who doesn't hate origin or battlelog I actually like it a lot. I'm not having the lag issues like most people are reporting, so that might be why I do not hate it. I can keep track of all my friends what gun there using how there doing and ect.
My opinion: + Show Spoiler +After playing for three days I can honestly say that my only beef with the beta is people saying stuff like "this game is so buggy, I'm not going to buy it.ggdice you fucked up battlefield" actual quote taken from game and finally the map they used. Take this with a box of salt because they probably have a good reason for using that map, but to me it just doesn't represent battlefield at all.
all and all, I'm extremely happy with the game and really looking forward to trying out the vehicles and the bigger maps.

I've learned to distinguish factions in time, it really gets easier, especially when you get the sense of the map and learn to use minimap, to rule out team mates. One good thing is that you can learn to shoot on sight even without the indicator, if you hit enemy your crosshair will have a small cross. Friendly fire is off on most servers. Most of it comes with experience, I've played this much so much I now know the textures and effects so I can distinguish between a terrain flash/grass/tree/rock and an enemy. B3 is not the pinnacle of fps but it has the learning curve of any competitive game, experience with game and map is crucial in my opinion.

I don't like the extra shit in the browser-side client, either. Makes it feel like Facebook or something with the 'Battle Log'. It might be a nice feature for clans, though, especially if they're the kind who aren't serious enough to get their own website, and just lurk on other people's servers.
Movement feels pretty damn weird. I feel bulky and sluggish at times, but that might just be due to my graphics settings, which I have turned down from default. I still don't feel like sprinting does anything useful.
I've played Bad Company 2 for quite a while before this, and I notice that both games are really similar with their ingame interfaces, such as kit customization.
Just like with Call of Duty and BC2, Hardcore or gtfo. I really hate how hitting someone in the chest with an SVD or M11 mod 0 doesn't kill them from ranges you would expect from such a rifle. I decided to be a dick, though, and not leave my spot when the objectives were destroyed at one point. Apparently, being closer to someone means your bullets do more damage, as I was able to one-shot about three people in the chest. Before that, though, I realized that the same bullets can't penetrate through someone's arm. The arm in question was in front of the owner's head, and I had to fire two shots to kill him. Sigh.
After playing Red Orchestra 2, I don't mind bullet drop and travel time, but it feels weird in this game. Maybe this is just because I haven't gotten acclimated to it yet, but I still don't like how it feels.
I find it odd that the game always starts in Windowed mode, requiring alt-enter to bring it to fullscreen. Again, I think this is due to the separation of game and game browser.
The fuck is with flashlights? I can't see a damn thing if one is pointed in my general direction. I would think that most rifles would be difficult to carry if they had a 1000-watt spotlight taped to them, but no. The laser pointers aren't that hard to deal with, though. I think. I was able to shoot someone in the face when they lasered mine from about 15~20 meters away in a well-lit part of a subway station.
Not much else to say for now, besides this: Fuck Origin. EA, Why do you feel the need to make your own digital distribution platform when Steam is even more viable? If I remember correctly, there was a short period of time when BF3 was advertised on Steam for preorder before being removed + refunded. I guess we now know why. And why must all of our names be unique? And why are all the ones I normally use taken?
Final xmas list: Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Diablo 3, Backlit Mechanical Keyboard. I strongly dislike Battlelog in its current incarnation: I'm not opposed to it as an idea, but it's clunky and slow atm. I'm surprised that you think movement is sluggish. Can you elaborate further? In comparison to other FPS games I've played recently (RO2, Blops, MW2), it feels fast and very responsive to me. Sprinting makes you move noticeably faster, particularly if you have the sprint specialization equipped. I love that prone drops you to the ground instantly, instead of a leisurely lying-down animation. Flashlights: have you ever had a tactical flashlight shone in your direction? I can assure you that the way they're implemented in BF3 is pretty reasonable and realistic. For game reasons, I think it should be toned down maybe 20%, but you certainly can't call it unrealistic. My opinion on movement might be due to framerate, but I unlocked Sprint+ in the last game I played today, so I didn't test that. It just feels like my soldier is overweight and out of shape(somewhat like me). Yesterday, I played Humans vs Zombies for about 10 straight hours, and I got pretty used to running while holding something in the 5:21 I was a human. HvZ is like tag, except one team can use nerf guns. As for the flashlight question, no. However, I have a 532nm 30mW laser pointer, and just shined it in my eye to see what it was like for a moment. Can you relate it to that? Well its not like the soldier himself would be overweight. Full combat gear easily clocks in 40+ pounds. It gets pretty damn tiring walking/running around in that all day. Don't dilute his question, your example of the laser has no real pertinence to his comment. With respect to the previous poster, i have had a tactical flashlight flashed in my face and its fucking bright. Really can't see shit. Its not like CSS where theres a little white circle, you fucking squint like hell but all you can make out is this white blur. But to answer your question, yes i have had a laser pointer shined in my eye, i regret doing it cause it was a fucking stupid idea. But the amount of vision you lose is approximately equal in practice. All day would be understandably tiring. Even so, it does seem like they have been jogging for a good chunk of the day with how it feels to me.
If that's the case, then I would understand, yet I don't have experience in that area, so I went off of something I might be able to compare it to. But this laser is noticeably brighter than the kind you can pick up for $10. Noticeably brighter meaning that if I shine it on my hand, I can read a book perfectly fine in pitch black/you can see the beam's path sometimes depending on where you are.

Anyone else think the MK11 MOD 0 is pretty much the best gun in the game with reflex sight and laser? I feel bad using it sometimes, I just 2 shot everybody one after another. After just using that weapon I was MVP four rounds straight.
Imo, if you have decent aim and can handle chaotic situations (Not just spamming your weapon and hope you kill something when you are getting shot at and have multiple targets), I think it's borderline OP. Guaranteed kill, two shots. Which is great seeing as it takes about a half a magazine to kill someone at most distances with the assault rifle or PDWs.

Absolutely. The MK11 is fantastic (I'm working on my 5th service star for it). I like using it with the PKA-S (RU Holo Sight), because it's very open and clear. It's a great rifle for playing marksman, moving with your team, and supporting with long range fire. I really like it for clearing the left tunnel on point 2, as you move in through that big open area you can easily pick off machine gunners or snipers trying to cover the tunnel. It's also great for taking out snipers quickly and quietly on point 1.

I agree in part, but I think headshot registry needs some work. There have been way too many times where my ret was set directly on a still target's head, at close range, while I'M still, and yet no headshot... I think if headshots registered properly, the MK11 might seem less op in medium and long-range situations.

This game is actually going to be a dissapointment. It isnt at all the sequal for BF2. I dont understand what all the hype is. Sure it has great graphics and amazing sound, but it isnt a true sequal.

That's a quote from the guy I was replying to. I personally turn off the laser unless I'm moving into CQC, but all the other secondary attachments are underwhelming. Silencer might be better if I played a more lone-wolf role, but as a supporting marksman, it's unnecessary and sometimes robs you of kills.

From the videos I have seen the gameplay in BF3 looks disappointing.
There doesn't seem to be much teamwork or teambased objective. Everybody is just camping or moving around the map randomly looking for kills.
I would prefer it to be more team based.

It's very team based. The improved gunplay makes it easier to lone wolf than in previous Battlefield titles (meaning the classics, 1942 and BF2, not Bad Company), but an organized and coordinated squad is still incredibly unfair. I've been playing with 3 friends and we completely roll most games singlehandedly. A small organized group of people will stomp a large unorganized group 95% of the time.

Which is why you find people that want to play the game how it's meant to be played. Playing in a pub will never have any sort of teamwork. They're the type of players who just want to kill kill kill kill some more.

Thats true in any game, not just in bf3 rofl. Pugs are really really really retarded since they're 100% doing their own thing. That is what he was commenting on and it is true because everyones too busy doing their commandos II: Men of "courage" gameplay and lying prone instead of pushing the front
BC2 rush mode was garbage until all the bads left / bads figured out how to play rush and were goods

Stop singling me out!
But in all seriousness, I really hope that there is some new map out during this beta.. can tell that so many people are bored with metro, and who can blame them. Can't believe there are tons of level 30+ in games.

I think the laser is good with the MK11 because it only takes two shots to kill someone. If you get one shot and he is running towards you, the laser will disorient him enough to get the second shot easily. Unless he is right in front of you or something.

I love my M416 with red dot. But one thing i find quite strange is that there's not really a reason to fire your weapons in burst. I don't feel a big disadvantage in accuracy, even on medium and long range. Additionally there's the aspect of surpression.
