Why? It's such a great system... I tried it a long time ago and couldn't stand it (although I'm sure it has improved since then) and I like to keep a bare minimum of programs that suck up resources in task manager. I don't want to have to have it load everyday just for one game and not be able to uninstall it. By itself, it's probably not very resource hungry, but over time, each of those programs start to add up and begin to slow performance. If I could activate the game with it and get rid of it, I would get it for PC.

Morrowind is so engaging that I continued to play it on the Xbox, where I first learned of the Elder Scrolls games, despite it's night constant crashing and tricks needed to keep the memory usage down (as it would lock up once you used more than a certain amount) Even Oblivion, the lesser of the two Elder scrolls games I've loved, is still pretty damn playable stock. There's no denying the value of OOO, but it always comes off to me as a little wierd when so many people shit on the game so hard vanilla. In fact, a lot of mods break immersion for me so hard that I generally duck a good amount. I love the TES games just as they are. I'll admit that i've never played with mods (never really had the option), so maybe i'm missing out on a Huge amount of enjoyment, but all I know is that even right now, even playing the console version, that besides Blizzard games, TES is definitely my favorite. Maybe it's just because the appeal to the game fits me exactly, but I just think that they're is so much to love and appreciate and do despite its flaws that it is easy for me to enjoy. Still haven't played another RPG that can quite live up to it in my experience, and that's just the vanilla version!

I absolutely loved each of them, although i liked morrowind better because its world was so imaginative and i felt like exploring every single area of it. The three main houses were also cool and i enjoyed getting to the top of all three on different characters ^_^. I honestly say the computer version with mods is only necessary if you want to break the 300+ hour threshold. The vanilla games hold at least that much content. I played Oblivion on console and morrowind on BOTH. The mods people do are amazing but they are not a necessity unless you have weird little nitpicks that for some reason ruin an entire game to you(+ Show Spoiler + HOW COME MY MONEY DOESNT HAVE WEIGHT RAWWRRRR just 8 more days until i have the CE and the strategy guide in my mailbox ![]() Vanilla Oblivion got boring to me after around 20 hours....the only thing worth playing in vanilla was the thieves guild and dark brotherhood storylines imo. Exploring the world was boring because it all pretty much looked the same and you could go for miles without seeing any enemies...and when you did it was some random bear or wolf. It doesn't really matter how big the world is when its all so monotone and all the dungeons use like the same 4 skins over and over and contain no loot 90% of the time. Not to mention leveling was pointless and tedious cause of the scaling and the main quest was atrocious -_-. Without mods I would've stopped there but once I discovered them I put easily 100+ hours in the game.

Saying that a 1999 game had generic dungeons in 2011 ... what do oyu expect. For that time however morrowind was pure epic the best there was and remains the same analogically. You dont need any mods apart graphics packages to enjoy morrowind , thats is if you enjoy exploration and a great story. Oblivion however was several step backwards for the genre , awfull combat system for that time ( no dual wield for assassins but instead 1h shield for instance ) horrible leveling , bs looting system , dull enviroments , crap main storyline and many other things. Oblivion with mods becomes much better though but still not even close with morrowind As for skyrim so far so goo , in fact even in xbox it seems really great , i just hope they dont screw up the pc version .

In general, dialogue and animations look much less awkward now. The main questline seems to be quite interesting this time around, and dragons are fun to fight. The level scaling is also done better this time around. There were several times when the streamer fought a few enemies that were way out of his league, causing him to run or retreat to safety. Also, player-resurrected zombies make funny moaning noises and turn to ash when they die.

When Steam first came out it wasn't great. Now it's awesome. Valve makes great products from the ground up.

Origin is way more fucking useless and resource hogging, and its still comparable to nothing. Honestly there are waaay more "wasteful" programs in my opinion, and you can run steam as and when you please. You also get access to a ton of free games, demo's and offers, for the slight inconvienence of having it take 0.01% of your memory and processing power WHEN you choose to run it. I honestly dont see your problem. I bet even if you dont have origin, you have firefox, or chrome or something of the likes. Why? their pointless. In fact, why have antivirus programs, they consume so much processing power. If you get virused you can just reinstall and have even LESS of your computers power being used, right? Hey wait, uninstall SC2 also! When you use it it takes up so much power >.> Stupid thing to say about something you can choose to run if and when you please lol, you use it only to play skyrim, if your PC is that affected by steam, it for hell sure cant run skyrim. and if your not playing skyrim? Turn it off. EDIT: Yes, im half trolling.
