I don't think I've ever played any of the Elder Scrolls but I'm going to play this one definitely. Maybe I'll play hardcore and draw my own maps too. So many games today are way too easy, no challenge = no fun. I hope it's a hard game, because it's so pretty.

Leaked ~40 minutes of gameplay on youtube already. Includes dragon fights. Don't want to get banned, so I'll leave them off.
However, you may want to search for something related to kittens.

weakness of the map idea is how stupidly unrealistic it is. If I were in such a scenario in real life (however improbable) I would just ask a bystander to explain some directions and help me write a map. Still, seems quite hardcore, but not worth the time lost if you have other obligations in life TT.

I liked idea in Gothic where you had to buy map, that's seems realistic, drawing whole thing is not

This is pretty much how Morrowind worked actually (no markers, ask for directions).

I don't think you will be disappointed.

Man I have to decide between Nord, Dunmer, Argonian and Orc. It is so hard they all look so amazing. The new Argonian faces remind me of the Norns in Babylon 5. I am thinking Orc right now since I replay Morrowind and these little elite Orc squads hanging around in the best looking armor at all the daedric ruins are real badass.

enjoy the next next-gen

I played Oblivion a fair amount, but I played as a stealth archer with no mods - by far the easiest way to play. (You move just as fast running backwards, so infinite kiting.) I think I'm going to go with the stealth option again.
But I was wondering: how viable were melee only stealth characters in Oblivion? It would seem kind of hard because you need to get so close. I kind of want to try it in Skyrim.

LOL, textures set mega low. Can't wait to get this on my comp and crank everything up to max. I always spend the first few hours of any pretty game exploring aimlessly, but with ES games you can actually explore randomly and have it mean something -_-.
IMO, it's just like going into Oblivion and setting all the gfx options to lowest and res to 640x480, all the NPC's faces look like poop or old grannies.

That's what I'm thinking.
I thought it was bad from the outside, but this is simply revolting! The design team must hate towers as much as Dustin Browder loves destructible rocks.
Anyway, on a more serious note that image looks rather fake. The resolution is way off to begin with.

looks like bethesda couldnt make good animations if thier lives depended on it... or dialogue and voice acting.
ah well, didnt look forward to the game for those reasons anyway, at least the world looks not too generic (although the graphics in the vid were terrible, but thats xbawx anyway).

Stealth archer isn't that great, cause archery isn't that great. You have to carry all those arrows, which weigh you down and cost money. You're better off doing the same kiting tactics, but as a mage, so you have infinite, weightless ammo too.
Stealth melee was hard, but you get a much higher crit bonus from surprise melee attacks than surprise ranged attacks.
